  1. I have a pair of HereseyII's that were built in '97 and a few months ago Dean over at the 2 Channel forum was talking about upgradeing K-horn caps in the crossover and said he got improved sound from the upgrade, I think at the time I asked about my Heresey II's crossover but never got any kind of ansewer from anyone about the crossovers in my speakers, in fact I don't even know where they are located at in the speakers and what they look like. I was also wondering if you can upgrade them with something like orange drops or auricaps and really improve the sound coming from the speakers, if I could do this for $30 to $50 in caps I sure would if I could upgrade my sound, but at time I really would like to hear some input from someone that has done this.
  2. Sold Out ! seems like just one show, would be nice if they toured the USA.I wonder how many from the real band. It would be nice if they made a DVD of the concert for all that coundn't get tickets like me.
  3. Fini, Have you ever gotten that Pilot 232 yet, just wondering if you had a chance to try it with those K-horns yet and what you think.
  4. I don't need one , have one already, they can sound great and for a hundred dollors it should sell fast.
  5. I just saw a ad for Nantucket Sound and they carry the complete line of the klipsch reference speakers, they probably can special order them for you. I don't know how many stores Nantucket Sound has but the ad I saw was for one in Hyannis on Cape Cod in Mass. there Phone # is (508) 771-4434
  6. I saw some nice looking cable kits on DIY cable (diycable.com) if you want to make them up yourself. I have never made them up myself, but I plan to try them sometime in the future. the ones on DIY cable look like they would be the best for the buck seeing there kits start at the price of the cheap monster cable, I have read some good things about DIY on the Bottlehead forum.
  7. About four years ago I was looking for a pair of speakers and went to Circuit City ( don't laugh) and almost bought a $500, pair from them, but by luck I waited and went to a furniture store that I remembered used to sell Klipsch spealkers years ago and found out that the store was closing and walked out of the store with a pair of Heresy II's for $700 in the box and once I found out about Klipsch and tube amps I have been in sonic heaven ever since. I would watch Ebay and buy a pair from someone close by, that would let you pick them up after you win the bid and let you see and hear them so you know that they are all that they say they are and they sound and work right, you won't be sorry.
  8. I use a old Dynaco Fm-3 tube tuner that can be found on Ebay for about $100, it can be tweeked out with new caps and other things and has a very nice musical detailed tube tuner sound that is very nice to listen to.
  9. You guys are right I guess HT is where the audio industry has pretty much gone to, I guess there is a 2 channel market that is still there but I guess the high end 2 channel is just a small part of audio these days, I'am being 53 I guess I grew up in the golden days of mono and 2 channel. I do think if klipsch started talking up the fact that they were bringing back the cornwalls or forte for a limited time only with advance orders that the orders would be flooding in and they could have a nice run of these speakers and make some money to.
  10. Cablacksmith, I read that topic and other topics over the years and I have a pair of Heresey II's and I like them very much but I here so much about the old classics like forte and the cornwalls and how great they are, I just wonder why they would drop these line if everyone liked them. I guess they are more into the new consumer line products like the ones Best Buy sells , nothing wrong with that, I guess you have to go where you can make the most money to keep a corp. going. I would just like to see them do a reissue of some of the classics some time, kind of like what Mcintosh did with bringing back the Tube amp MC275 a few years ago. Boy I bet if they reissued the cornwalls they would fly out the door of all the audio shops that stocked them.
  11. I read so many great things about these two old speakers that klipsch dosen't sell any more, so why did they stop building them but they still build speakers like the Heresey II, but stopped the cornwalls and the forte?
  12. Mark, It looks like you have a fine product there, so I guess the peach is the same circuit that blueberry but know phono stage? Any Idea on what price range the peach might be ? I love the look of the blueberry, good luck with your new venture.
  13. What's this peach just half of the blueberry or a completely new animal, and what is the projected price for the peach? This all looks very interesting.
  14. Okay now I'am starting to understand what the blueberry is, and it was designed and I'am guessing built by Mark a regular on the forum, I was reading little bits and pieces about the blueberry that everyone was talking about but couldn't really put it all together. I have been running a foreplay and seduction with my power amps and have been happy with it, but I know that someday I will be wanting to get something a little higher end and the blueberry dose have a nice clean look to it also. I was also wondering what kind of resitors and caps it has in it, it's a little hard to tell from the picture and is the volume control a stepped type of control ? I couldn't find any other products other than the blueberry, is the first with maybe more to come, or is there more that I don't know about like maybe a strawberry power amp ?
  15. I just did a search of Juicy Music Audio and came up with nothing, would like to find out more about these audio products, that I read about, does any one know where on line to find them ?
  16. If you want to go new and don't mine using a soldering iron you might want check out the Bottlehead Corp., they have the foreplay preamp and the seduction phono stage that are built from kits and sound great. You might pay a little more than $500 for the two kits, But not that much more. Both these kits are vacuum tube based, and building them from new kits you don't have worry about something being used and worn out. You can find Bottlehead on Line on Bottlehead.com
  17. Good Topic, when I was younger I just listen to music in the car or truck, but never thought I had the money for a high-end audio for the home, when I hit my late 40's I said the hell with it and bought a pair of Heresy II brand new for $700. from a furniture store going out of bussiness, and havn't looked back. I still don't have money for high-end audio, I just cut back on eating and cloths and it's nice to be single.
  18. To tell the truth I have both vinyl and Cd's and being 53 I listen to mostly to 60's and early 70's rock and a lot of that stuff you just can't find on cd and when you can some of it sounds so bad on cd you find you wasted your money on buying it. I found around here that cd's cost $15-$20 and that you can find remastered vinyl for not much more than that if any, and if you get a Steve Hoffman remastered LP you are in for a real treat. Also I found a couple of LP sellers on Ebay that grade very well that I watch and sometimes get 3 or 4 mint copies of LP's that I don't have for the price of one new CD at the store. You are right vinyl can be costly, but so can the other formats, and audio it self can be a high dollor hobby, if your not careful.
  19. That's kind of sad isn't, doesn't Dean realize that LP's can sound a lot better than CD's, and I always thought Dean was one of the smarter guys on this forum, maybe Craig or someone needs to sit him down and explain to him just how good a turntable can sound.
  20. I'am I missing something here, why is all this about cleaning brushes so funny to Dean, is it that he doesn't listen to LP's and is into CD's only and doesn't have to clean his CD's to play them ?
  21. I must say as good as it is said that it works and the price that it is, I might go ahead and give a try. I have wanted a record cleaner for a while and I have been half way thinking of getting the Record Doctor II, but at $200. to clean maybe 20 or 30 of the records that I have that need cleaning the $59. seems a lot better and I have spent a lot of money on audio in the last few years and I have been trying to slow down my spending this year so this item looks like something that will save me some money on something I have wanted to get for a while and still do a good job.
  22. I know her now, she went to my High School, thanks for sharing that picture
  23. I hope I don't get flamed here but Circuit City has many different voltage protection devices in stock at different price ranges and of course they have them hooked up where then can show you (A&B them)how well they can clean up the sound by removing dirt from the voltage, I don't know if a lot of this is true, I just wanted the surge protector and bought one built by Monster but I don't remember the model number paid about $50. for it. But I found the best way to save your equipment during lightening storms is to unplug your gear from the wall when not in use.
  24. Boy! He plugged it in and turned it on to see if the tubes came on, probably with no speakers hooked up to it, that was good for it. It is a very clean unit, looks brand new, but a little high for that amp.
  25. Man this post started in 2001, Bev might have gone back to solid state by now, or just listens to her kids boombox who the heak got this up.
