  1. Yep! I'm now an official Klipsch member! Plus I got to increase my post count in the process!
  2. Hey, I just noticed that was my 99th post and wanted to see if my 100th changed me from a Cool Newbie to something else...
  3. Thanks, guys! I'm gonna take a nice Sunday drive down there with my girlfriend and have a listen. They're right on the East Coast so we may take in a nice dinner on the water while we're at it. Mike
  4. BobG, I have a pair of CF-2's and am not quite sure what you are saying by "Why not just run the CF-2's from the sub high pass out?" 5. Doug, Can you explain the bidding process on Ubid? Mike
  6. I saw those, Doug. That's only about 75 minutes from where I live. I have never heard the Chorus' before. If they are related to the Cornwall, I would imagine they sound very sweet. What would be a good deal on a pair of nice ones? Mike
  7. There is a pair of Late 70's Birch (Black) Cornwalls for sale out on AudiogoN. The guy is asking $650/obo and is in Ashville, NC. Here is the link http://gonmain.iserver.net/cgi-bin/cl.pl?spkrfull&1004036066 . 10. I too was curious what the hullaballoo was all about so I purchased the Panasonic RP91 (Ecost for $471 delivered) at the same time as my Hitachi HDTV. I was really buying the machine for the DVD-A but was amazed at the picture quality with the Progressive Scan. I just watched the Five Star Collector version of Die Hard in THX and it blew me away! Picture and Sound! I only have the one DVD-Audio (Fleetwood Mac Rumors) and am still trying to figure out if I like it or not. I will say this however, my CD's sound a ton better on this player so I moved the CD player into my bedroom. 11. If anybody hasn't listened to "Seven Bridges Road" on the Eagles Hell Freezes Over DVD in DTS Format, you're in for a real treat (don't have DVD-Audio format). This is an Audio only track and you have to have a DTS decoder in order to listen to it. At reference levels it will knock you on your A$$! These guys are right there in your living room with you. Absolutely awesome stuff! 12. Thanks guys...you were right! One is copper and the other is approx. 40% silver. This was 12ga bought at Home Depot for around $.30/ft. I'm curious if this is decent enough or should I be using something better? Thanks again, Mike
  13. I'm getting ready for my new TV tomorrow and have had to move my equipment from below the TV to above it. This meant having to cut new speaker wire since I was gonna need about 6-7 more feet for each speaker. It looks like I can use the old Sub cable which was hooked to my Samson amp and wire it up to my right speaker. While I was hooking it up, I noticed that a large portion of the internal 12g wire, went from copper to silver. Did something happen to this cable? Can I still use it or should I cut another one? Thanks, Mike ------------------ Family Room ----------- Hitachi 43UWX10B HDTV (16:9) Denon AVR-4800 Panasonic DVD-RP91K Dual CS-5000 Turntable w/Shure V15V-MR DBX 3bx Series III Range Expander Klipsch Epic CF-2's (mains) Klipsch KLF-C7 (center) Klipsch RS-3's (surrounds) SVS 20-39CS Sub w/Samson S700 Amp Monster HTS-3500 Line Conditioner Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 Digital Cable box Bedroom ------- Yamaha M-4 Amp Yamaha C-4 Preamp Yamaha T-7 Tuner Teac DVD Player Dual CS-721 Turntable w/B&O MMC2 Looking for a pair of Heresy's
  14. Boa, You can connect the speakers via banana plugs (what I use) or something called Speakon output connectors (never heard of it and very strange looking). For input, I have to plug my subwoofer rca cable into a two-conductor 1/4" plug...also very strange. I think this thing is made in Korea. : Thanks again, Mike
  15. Boa, Do they have 2 meter Monster bass wire? I thought that cable was used if you were plugging directly into the subwoofer. I'm running the cable into an amp and then running speaker wire from the amp to the sub... Mike
  16. Thanks, Boa! Plus, it's 2 meters which is the perfect length. The old radio shack interconnect was 4 meters long. Mike
  17. I am out of audio interconnects and need to run an rca cable from my receiver subwoofer out to my sub amp. All I have is MonsterVideo 2 video interconnect cable and was wondering if that will work. Can anyone give me an answer on this? Thanks in advance... 22. That's great! What are the specs on the Adcom and the NAD? I'm looking for a 2-channel amp as well to drive my CF-3's or CF-4's (if I can ever find a pair) whenever I get them. I've been looking at the Denon 2400 and 2800. They are both 200x2 and are Class A up to a couple of watts (not sure about this). They have been going for $300 - $450 out on Ebay...I just missed getting the last one. I believe these units were sold in the earlt to mid 90's. BTW, I saw where you were looking for some stuff out on AudiogoN and see you found your Academy center channel you were looking for. I have been looking for some Epics for quite a while now and was wondering if there were some other places on the net I should be checking. I'm also aware of Ebay and Audio Review and Audioshopper... Thanks, Mike Edit - I forgot to mention - my girlfriend is from Rockland. How far is that from Biddeford? This message has been edited by Mike Lindsey on 08-15-2001 at 03:07 PM
  23. Wow Steve! I thought I got a pretty good deal getting mine for $1300 but you got a steal! I've been tinkering with mine for a month now but I love it!
