  1. This is the basement as I want it at the moment for my HT. I have a 5.1 set up going in. The interior walls are not set in stone except for the utility room as part of the room is a half height due to the home design. The home is brand new and just being built. Any thoughts? The room dimensions of the large HT area are 21' 5" X 18 and the computer room is about 13 X 13. Remember, all these can be changed somewhat without tele posts getting in the way. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 2. Absolutely amazing work guys. That is what I call a tribute to life love and the North American Dream. I may be Canadian but I do share the same values, beliefs, religious teachings and all out love for this land of freedom. God Bless America, God Bless Freedom and God Bless North America. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 3. Just my 2 cents. Remember, these guys here are almost sick with the bug of home theater. Take what they say with a grain of salt as money is usually not the deciding factor for them. I have a 100 watt 10" downfiring sub in my living room which is 13 X 15 and it rattles the floorboards quite nicely. It's not a Klipsch but the Klip sub I guarantee digs a bit lower than my sub. A 10 or 12 inch sub with at least 200 watts of power will give you that gut wrenching bass you are striving for. Trust me as I trusted the guy that told me the very same thing. I would buy my sub over and over because it gives me what I want. Rumble rumble rumble. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 4. Forrest, you're a complete idiot (period). I bet if we were to see you for real, you'd look like a bag of smashed a**holes so don't comment on others beauty or lack there-of. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... 5. I really like the CV's too. I use two sets of e-708's for front and rear speakers and I also use the E76C for a center and the CV HTS10 for my sub. I love CV. I do use Klips on my computer but like the CV's for HT cause they go boom nicely. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 6. OT, but why would you even be available at midnight on NYE to make a post here even. Man, u need to get out and find a non Klipsch BB friend or two. Sorry dude but you really need to get out some. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. Don't count on me, it's the point you're missing. 7. No, the standa are not included. The only stands are the little ones attached from the factory. And it is two subs, but two subs with SINGLE 6.5 drivers as apposed the the 4.1's DUAL 6.5 drivers. In essence it is the same thing as you'd have to put two singles side by side anyhow to get any good output without cancelation. Stick with the 4.1's with the upgraded control pod and be done with it. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 8. Just figured I'd report A+'s all the way with the 4.1's. I had some friends over for the holidays to share some cheer ect... My wife made a mix of all the popular songs as well as some Christmas carols to play in the background. My HT setup is located right in the entertainment room so I used my 4.1's off in another room to do the music playing. It's less overbearing to have quiet background music in a big family gathering. Well, everyone loved the 4.1's and were amazed at the bass output for "computer speakers". Made me want to play the HT setup to give em' a good shake but they had fun and loved the music. Thank you Klipsch for a great year with my pro's and here's to hoping the serve a few more with my family. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... 11. I've read a balled up sock works well for this. Make sure it's a clean one as any possible passing air thru the sock will carry the stench of foot around the room. A real romance killer I do think. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. Don't count on me, it's the point you're missing. 12. Did some digging tonite and got the .mov's and .avi's for DTS and DD. The chopper scene, the train scene, the Digital Experience scene and a .wav of the digital experience. Does anyone know where I can view the THX intro's on the web or any other cool intros. For sound reasons more than picture reasons that is. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. 13. Here is my Klip computer room so you all know I actually own a set of the 4.1's. Notice please in both pics you do not see any wiring as I took a lot of time to get the set up just right as to not show any wire. ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... 14. What do you guys think? It's not Klip in this theater yet but I like the pros I have so much I may upgrade what you see to all Klip. Opinions.....?? ------------------ Don't count on me, to let you know when..... Don't count on me, I'll do it again. Don't count on me, it's the point you're missing. 17. I have a video hook up question. How much better will be using the composite (3 rca cables for video) as apposed to using the s-video out on the back of my dvd player. I can hook up either way to my tv set as it has component/composite/s-video hook ups avaliable. It's not an HDTV set but has 675 lines of resolution. Any opinions, ideas ect.??? ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 18. I surely hope that you American people don't believe that "battleship" to be our full technology. As a matter of fact that dingy shows a trolling motor powering it's forward crawl, you should all know these things also come equipped with oars! 19. Powered speakers have a voltage rating, powered means they have a seperate amp in them to provide power to a built in sub, say for instance. But, normal "powered by the reciever" speakers have no voltage rating, they have an ohm rating though. The ohm rating should be matched to the recievers output. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 20. I am going to do just that. I am gonna go get an analog r.s. db meter and have a peep. If someone is above me in the kitchen talking I can hear them perfectly thru the floor so I hope tiles on the roof will stop the oppisite effect from happening as the actual theater is directly below the master bedroom Very unhappy wife... wimp ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? 21. I dunno about your reciever but on mine if I drive the a and b channels it automatically switches out of surround mode and into stereo. I have noticed that music sounds better when not in surround as that distorts the original intention of the music. If it has an a and a b section then there should be no problem at all. Some amps, like mine for instance has a low imp setting which I can use in stereo mode to drop the signal to 4 ohms for even louder music, man I am gonna be so deaf when I'm 50 it's not even funny! ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? 22. I have a bi-level house which means that half the basement is in the dirt, the other half is above ground level. The walls are concrete, 6" thick or something I believe. I want to know what I can do to deaden the noise heard outside the house but not inside if you know what I mean. I am thinking about using acoustic tiles on the basement ceiling, the floors have berber carpeting. Should I also put fiberglas insulation between the floor joists or is the tile going to be enough. Anyone have any ideas for sound deadining, both cheap and/or expensive as price is not really an issue on this. Thank you guys once again, you all have been very helpful in making my HT a big success with family and friends, and the wife too She loves this BB and comes here more often than I do (almost) ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? 23. I know a few will disagree but a real player to look into is Technics. They feature dts/dd, 3 digital inputs, video switching and 100 wpc X 5. They are the warmest sunding recievers in their price range. I have friends with eveything from sony to jvc in the same price range and none have either the warmness or the awesome power handling imho. At least have a look/listen, you won't be dissapointed. I have owned 3 already because I am constantly upgrading to the newest techs and I will NEVER stray from Technics. I love their price/product. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 24. Hi, we are almost at the time when we get our new house. I am finishing the basement myself as I do that sort of thing as a second job. I am wondering just how thumpy/booming a sub woffer will be when placed directly on a concrete floor. It's a 10" 100 watt downfiring and in my living room it sounds great, but in an environment with concrete underfoot how will it perform? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away..... 25. I wouldn't try to out-do the mains and surrounds but DO get the best center channel you can afford. It handles upwards of 60% of the entire movies sounds, no crappy speaker should be implemented for this task. I don't have a Klipsch center but I did get the top of the line for the center I use. Never regretted that decision. ------------------ Why do you like playing around with my little scope of reality? I can feel it all start slipping away.....
