  1. Hey Kain64, I cant offer any information on the specifis, but I just wanted to say that the Marantz is also a very good choice. It runs high current amplification as well and sounds very smooth.... two excellent choices. Regards Monty R
  2. I also collect basketball cards (especially older MJ) and there are so many people that are buying just to try and resale to make a profit. Its created a terrible market for sports memorabilia for those who just like to collect. This kind of thing reminds me of that scene. I guess its just comes with the territory. And of course the morons that pay these rediculous prices is what feeds people to do this kind of thing. Regard's Monty R This message has been edited by montigue on 01-16-2002 at 12:38 PM
  3. Kain64, I havent been able to demo that paticular model with any Kipsch speakers but I can tell you from a devoted HK fan that Harman Kardon's widely acclaimed High Current Capabability and Ultrawide Bandwidth design provides high current power amplification. The sound you hear over the other models is a more richer, fuller sound. Because HK offers High Instantaneous Current Capability (HCC)w/ ±45 or more Amps (some of there amps have a HCC of ±100 Amps) makes the BIG difference. It really makes a difference when listening to music at loud levels. I can crank my AVR 65 over 3/4 of the way to max level and still have abseloutly no distortion! They are very clean and very powerfull with half the wattage of other brands like yamaha and Denon. Most people are turned off when they see the wattage output on most of the amps specs. But this is just lack of knoweledge.... Hope this information was usefull to you. Regards Monty R
  4. HAHAHA oh my god! He bought that academy for $225 and now hes trying to sell it for $600!!!!!!! and hes only had it less than a year!!!! some people are just too much .. makes me sick!!!s>
  5. I tell most of the people here that. I have had all a chance to a&b Yamaha, Denon and HK. HK was just more rich and full in music and home theater. But there are just too many yamaha lovers here that don't realize the nice sound they are missing out on. Oh well to each his own. Harman Kardon, Klipsch & SVS forever! Regards Monty R
  6. ya Keith why do you avoid HK? I can tell you that they are better than Yamaha or Denon by far. I had all of them at once and was able to a&b the receivers with Klipsch speakers. The HK sounds richer and fuller in both music and HT... hands down. Regards Monty R
  7. nice, we have simular audio setup. HK sounds good with the Klipsch dosent it Magnumman. I have the KG 5.2's and the HK AVR 65 nice!s> if the tv was just a little bit bigger it would be awesome. Regards Monty R
  8. now I know why my C-7 is hissing even when I'm in 2 channel stereo.
  9. Yes I will do that, but I was able to open the file with Adobe photoshop. One picture at a time though. monty R
  10. Craig, YES you can use an HK av receiver for a pre amp. It is probably the best choice for you right now. I bought my HK AVR 65 from a guy locally that used it as a pre amp w/ his HK signature amp. He said it was great! Of course its not as good as an actuall pre amp but it will sound good. Regards Monty R
  11. AAAHHH I see, Thats why I could only open it with Adobe photoshop. I think that program has the acrobat reader on it. I take it you did it this way for presentation? It does look cool. And thanks for the info. Monty R
  12. I agree..this guy is asking WAY too much money for this. The C-7 can match the sound quality (i think) for less than half the price..LOL Regards Monty R
  13. how come I can only open this file with adobe photoshop. When I first downloaded it i just got HTML code. This has happened to me before and I hate it when this happens. What am I doing wrong? Regards Monty
  14. WOW, these older Klipsch speakers are like endangered species. There not multipying but are getting more and more desirable. I had a guy offer me $220 within the first hour I posted the auction! (LOL) Anyone have a used samson S700 for sell or an equal to that 2 channel amp? Regards Monty R
  15. living room looks nice but wheres the tv and stereo stuff? nice furniture... Monty R

  19. aaahhh man that is sweet Carl.. I'll trade you my KG , Wega system for it!! lol VERY NICE! Monty R
  20. HEY! WT! did I see someone say something negative about the KG series! Well let me say that my KG 5.2's with their 12" passive radiator will outperform most subwoofers! (they can outperform their predesessor the 5.5, no doubt!) Those 12's can get down to 34HZ. Yes they are no lascala but they dont cost you 3K either. You can get them used for $350 on ebay. They are also very modern looking. Tell me what other speaker can you purchase for $350 that can outperform my KG 5.2's.. Id like to see someone answer that one!! I know that it is impossible to find anything in that price range that sound as good. With the addition of my SVS I can blast away with the best of you vintage owners. garunteed! GRRRR! never underestimate a KG series speaker. For the money they are THE BEST!!!!!! YES THE BEST!!!! Regards Monty R This message has been edited by montigue on 01-05-2002 at 04:20 PM
  21. There is something about the old Klipsch speakers that seem magical to me. From the oak finish, to the look of the drivers to the sound. When I first herd the Klipschorn it was amazing. The beautiful sound that they produce started me on an addiction I'll never get over. I have never been able to afford a pair but someday...... I will. Klipsch classics are precious vintage pieces that really are magical and have no equal. monty
  22. laugh are u kidding, I'm sure there are lots of music lovers that would love to have a system like that. I used to have the KG 4.2's I know that they are very nice! I would laugh at anyone who looked down on the KG series speaker's. They might not be Klipsch horns but they are heck of a lot better than Kenwood Sony or just about anything you would find at a mojor retailer. Nice system! very nice. Monty R
  23. Hi T-man, I'm going to take this camera back and get a better one. Then I will post much better pics. The picture just dosent give me an justice. If you were in my living room you would see how sweet it really looks and sounds. I don't mean to brag so much it's just that I am proud of what I have put together. Monty
  24. that is a beauty! I thought my speakers were too big for my Wega. Man was i wrong!! I know my Kg 5.2's can thunder, but those classics would put me to shame. although with the addition of my SVS I could hang with ya. Nice gear mpgwagonm, thanks for the pics. 25. the pioneer is actually able to produce the ouput the SVS needs at 4 OHMS. No doubt it can shake my entire house. Although the definition is not their IMO. Maybe the SVS is supposed to sound that way I dont know but the amp is rated 150w x 2 @ 6 ohms. Try and use a new receiver/amp with this output and it would probably clip or overheat during the high demand periods. If you have to use an amp with less than 200w, it has to be an older on. Monty
