Final verdict: it freaking works! Still has trouble with the smoked glass though. But as I said so does the Harmony.
I'm stoked.

Wonder if they know (in sheep's clothing) that that edge banding on the KHorn can be repaired quite easily. Of course it might have been in perfect condition before someone had too many $680 shots.

Thanks @CECAA850 pencil eraser on black of button contact seems to have done it. Contact cleaner did not, isopropyl alcohol did not. I know to use eraser on gold contacts to clean them but did not know to use on these types of contacts. Thanks again.

Yep contact surface on the back of switch is black but so are the parallel lines on the Marantz circuit board.
-
@CECAA850 the traces on board seem like carbon or some such. You clean those with a pencil eraser?
-
Tested IR emitter with smart phone. Volume down still not working, taking apart again
-
Funny you mention eating chips---Got it opened up and curiously on the volume up and down buttons and the contact pads on the circuit board there was pools of oil or something. Don't know if pictures show it I think I started cleaning before taking. Snapped it back together and I'll try it out tonight

So out of the loudspeaker? Or the amp inside?

Sorry but I just want to make sure, the hum is coming out of the speaker? Or the amp inside is humming?

First day in Nueces County early voting outpaces past midterm, presidential elections…..
Anticipating crowds, the Nueces County Elections Department stocked some of the most popular polling locations — such as the Dead and Hard of Hearing Center of Corpus Christi — with extra voting machines, said county clerk Kara Sands.
Letting dead people vote--I thought that was only in Chicago.

I like them also but must say they're a little hard to overcook, you really have to try. Never tried them shredded.
Here we go again. Hard to overcook? As soon as they go from bright green to any other color they're overcooked. They go from a crispy, crunchy, bitter yet delectable flavor IMO to yucky slime.

what do you mean by 'Chinese without Klipsch's knowledge' , RP line isn't manufactured in china?
I've been working in electronics manufacturing both military and industrial for 38+ years and this is what I envision ------- the first 100 units or so Klipsch engineers looked over the Chinese workers shoulders and scrutinized everything. Then they went away. The production speakers pass a 20 second test so everything is OK. Well as your finding out not necessarily.
But I'm probably full of crap.

Boy I'd be ticked. If I am understanding you if you plug this one speaker into either the left or right channel output of your AVR it cuts out?
Klipsch has made(or the Chinese without Klipsch's knowledge) have made an "engineering" change since the repair manual release where the woofer is not only screwed its glued.
These are brand new speakers? Or just new to you? Doesn't Ebay back up their sellers/buyers with some kind of warranty or resolution?

50-60Hz hum in my system
in Subwoofers

How old is it? One circuit board I see says 2014? Filter caps should not fail after 3- 4 years. But....
Can you short the line inputs each center pin to its ground? If it still has objectionable hum with shorted inputs it is definitely the sub itself. And probably the filter caps.
