Hi Dean I sent you a email. Are these the same as the cornscala-wall economy crossovers?
-
He did run it a while back, but then it said barn find instead of warehouse find. Maybe he thought warehouse sounded better than barn, lol.

WTB plastic feet for the spikes on KG 5.5's
Rusty Melton replied to Rusty Melton's topic in Garage Sale
Thanks Keith if you find them let me know, and I appreciate you looking. Moray, that is a great idea, I could eliminate the spikes completely with a set of these. I'm just getting tired of scratching things when I move them around. -

WTB plastic feet for the spikes on KG 5.5's
Rusty Melton replied to Rusty Melton's topic in Garage Sale
Thanks for the information! I was really hoping to find some of the plastic caps to put over the spikes that snap in place, like the ones that came on the speakers. Maybe I'm over looking them there, I'm really not really sure what to call them to look them up. But thanks again for the info runninshine. -
Can anyone here sell me or help me find the plastic feet that go over the spikes on the bottoms of KG 5.5's. Thanks, Rusty

FOUND! WTB: Scott 222c or 299b or 299d Rebuilt by NOSValves
Rusty Melton replied to Rhetor's topic in Garage Sale
That's great news, I'm betting you'll be pretty darned pleased with it. If you don't like it I'd be happy to buy it from you, so you could get it out of your sight and not have to look at it any more.[6] -

Good luck in your search. I recently bought a Scott 299 and had Craig go over it and it sounds amazing with my cornwalls. This was my first step into the world of tubes and to be honest I've never been happier with a audio purchase than I was with this one. Now I'm also on the hunt also for one of the more powerfull versions to have Craig go over it put it into service in the upstairs here at the house. I'm sure you'll be a pretty happy camper when you find one, they really do sound that good. -
My Cornwall I's seemed pretty bass shy as well, I used them with a set of KG 5.5's to help with the bass output. I changed out the old crossovers with a set of ALK Cornscalla wall crossovers and now the bass is much improved. I guess the 42 year old crossovers must have been shot because they sound great all by themselves now.

What a great deal, congratulations!

Muel, if you get them you'll have to sell me those verticals, with the upgrades.....all of them[]

I know it isn't really a Carver but I have a Sunfire 2 channel amp I'd like to sell, it's the 300 per channel one. I bought it new and have the original receipt for it if you have any interest in it. Rusty

Heresy II's for $300 - What do you think?
Rusty Melton replied to bijaker1's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
For me that's a tough one. I really like the kgs because of the hit you in the chest low end that they have. The Heresy's have a really nice midrange and to me have a little more of that sound like you would hear at a live show. I've found that the kg's sound pretty decent with any equipment that they're hooked up to and I had to do a little searching to find something to really get the sound I was looking for out of the Heresy's. I first ran the Heresy's through a Adcom preamp hooked up to my Sunfire amp and the sound wasn't all that impressive. So I took a Concept 11.0 and used it as a preamp hooked to the Sunfire and they really came alive and had much more bass. Since then I've hooked them up with several vintage receivers and several new receivers and the Heresy's really favor the vintage equipment, but that's just my opinion. I've sure that everyone here will give you different opinions of them, that just my two scent's worth. What kind of music do you listen to? For loud rock and roll I'd probably stick with the KG's, with acoustic music I'd pick the Heresy's. I guess that's why I've still got both sets, lol. Cornwalls are the best of both worlds for me. -

I have both and you'll lose a lot of bass with the heresys. If you have a sub you'll like them a lot. -
Did anyone save the "Cornwall II" review?
Rusty Melton replied to WMcD's topic in Technical/Restorations
I'm glad I could help. If anyone is interested I have all of the brouchures that came with the speakers when they were new and I'd be more than happy to post them. Some of them are really cool and have the prices and specs on them. I was glad they guy I bought them from had saved them, they were a nice addition to the speakers. Rusty -

If you can explain how to do it, I have no idea how. I could probably email the picture to you. Rusty -

This might be the one you're thinking of, I got this from the owner when I bought my cornwall II's. -
I think you did really good. I have a pair of them that I bought new in the 90's, I think they were a little over 900 bucks. I think they sound great, lots of bass.

Kg 5.5's sound great. I have a pair that I bought new in the 90's and have enjoyed them since.

I think that this might be the thread, I don't know if the link will work or not. There are some amazing pictures on there. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/77680/769250.aspx
