  1. I may be interested in the MA7000. Where are you located? It would be nice to avoid shipping. Condition, pictures, do you have the original packaging? Feel free to pm me or post here.
  2. Nice garage sale. The ones I see are mostly clothes and crap that belongs in a dumpster. I'd check it out if I was local. I don't like that he says "Save your money, you'll need it here". I think he's going to be in for a shock when he sees what people expect to pay at a garage sale.
  3. LOL The guy responded to my email. Apparently it's a real ad. Funny as hell, but I can't imagine actually trying to sell them with all that.

    La Scala NYC

Oh.. I never looked at the map. He has them listed in the Brooklyn section, I guess trying to get more views. In that case, I'm too far away to be any help.

    La Scala NYC

These have been for sale for about a year. They were discussed here a long time ago. He was initially asking 2k. The price has been slowly dropping. I'm not a fan of modified speakers, but these are definitely interesting. If someone is interested, I don't live too far away and could possibly assist.
  6. I came across this gem in my searches. Good for a chuckle http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/ele/4946894694.html
  7. I've owned RB-75's and heard the Palladiums. Although the RB-75's sound huge for a bookshelf speaker, there's no contest. To me the biggest difference is the midrange. That is what all the reference series lack in my opinion. Plus more refined highs and lows. The Palladiums are definitely on the next level. GLWS

    Hey Beautiful...

I've always loved the 22XX series Marantz. That is a beautiful one. I wouldn't pay that for it though. You can easily get a good condition 2270 for under $500. The custom face is around $165. If the face you take off is in good condition, I'd imagine you could sell it for $100 give or take.
  9. Nice prices on some cool stuff. It looks like you do great wood working.
  10. I hate selling my gear! I do enjoy collecting more though. I'm at the point where I have to reduce my collection or move. I'm dreading it, and have been putting it off for years. I will not ship any of the big stuff. I'd have no problem having a forum member over, but I don't open my door to CL. Maybe it's just my area, but the responses I get are unbelievable! Best of luck with your downsizing, you've got some great stuff.
  11. It could be the fabric. In the pictures it looks fluorescent. There was a guy selling one recently near me with a gray face. I recall seeing blue before as well. I don't remember ever seeing one that bright. That thing would be so out of place in my room
  12. Really? I think that thing is Fugly. Could you even hear your speakers over how loud that thing is? Lol his prices are definitely high too
  13. Oops! I guess I do type too fast lol my bad. I think I misunderstood
  14. Next? You have the final say in this? Lol everyone contacting the seller is what blows the deal. Most CL sellers don't care who they sell it to. When they get 20 emails in an hour, that's what starts the bidding wars and blows the deal.
  15. It has nothing to do with respect. There's a big difference between the Garage Sale and Alerts. Garage Sale is for forum members to buy and sell. Respect and decorum are expected and valued there. Alerts are posted for items outside of the Garage Sale, usually by non members. Just about all Alerts are regarding CL posts, which are in many(not all) instances flawed and downright scams. Sorry to be so blunt, however, in Alerts....Money talks, BS (and "dibs") walks. Simple as that. Oh, IMHO. In the Alert section, you're dealing with the same buyers, fellow forum members. Why pretend to treat them differently in the Garage Sale section than you do here? Oh, and bless your heart. Exactly. The garage sale section is different than the alerts, for the fact that it's a member selling. So discussing price you feel is too high openly (thread crapping) is wrong. That should be done via PM. It's fine to discuss or comment openly in the alert section because you're not ruining a member's sale. However, in the alert section the same respect should be shown as in the garage sale section for someone trying to make a purchase. Just like the garage sale when someone says they're next in line if who ever said they'll take it first backs out. It shows respect for other members. If you go after an item another member is pursuing that's not showing respect, more being a weasel or a snake. I also see people getting involved that have no interest in buying the item, just nothing better to do. The seller gets 20 emails and realizes he can get more money and relists at a higher price. Blowing a good deal for someone.

    Deal in NY state

Thanks for sharing! Now you're in trouble for not sharing sooner lol

    Deal in NY state

I'm in NY too. I think the alert section is great. I post deals I find that I can't use on here quite often. My comment wasn't meant so much against the alert section as some members being a little too active. For instance, if someone post a great deal on a pair of Khorns, but they're on the other side of the country. If you have no plans on having them freighted or making the road trip, DON'T CONTACT THE SELLER! Let someone local have a crack at it. If you see something you really want, and have a means to obtain it. Jump on it! This stuff is first come, first serve. Head over with cash and get it. Post you're going to get it, and respectfully others should wish you luck and not try to outbid you or get involved. To me, it's more about etiquette.
  18. Just came across an XPA200 for sale on AVS. No affiliation http://www.avsforum.com/forum/209-audio-gear/1895689-fs-onkyo-818-emotiva-xpa-200-a.html
  19. I read recently they're having another one of their "secret sales". It's ending soon. Call them up and ask pricing. They're clearing a bunch of stuff out.
  20. That's the problem when these alerts get too popular. If one local guys calls dibs, everyone else should just wish him luck. Instead the seller gets hammered with emails from guys all over the country. Most of which with no actual interest to buy. He probably assumed there wouldn't be much interest in pro/industrial looking speakers. After all the responses I'm sure he's done his homework, and isn't about to leave all that money left on the table. I've seen a lot of deals blown this way. I wouldn't be surprised if some clown emailed him to tell him they're worth more. I hope it works out for you MKP.
  21. Looks like a great deal. Thanks for sharing. I'm trying to justify putting that in my bedroom.
  22. I own both. The 83's are newer, and cost more new. Plus they're more rare, especially since you can get RF7II's. I wasn't implying one was better than the other. If you look up used value, they're worth more.
  23. After reading through these I've come to the conclusion that I've never got a great deal on anything. I also realize why it's so hard to sell something here. You guys are cheap! Lol
  24. When was this? The RF-83's should get more than the RF-7's. If he switched the prices RF-83 for $1200 and RF-7 for $990 that's pretty close to market, depending on the area. Wouldn't hurt to send him an offer if someone is interested.
