  1. I'd say it's priced high. There's not even any rear speakers. 2k tops.
  2. Exactly! However.... What does it matter when you have to run that massive old generator to power it? lol You'd probably have to be damn near full volume to hear over that thing
  3. Yeah... 8 grand for a used RF62 setup? He's dreaming.
  4. Seems reasonable if someone is looking to use a center http://www.avsforum.com/forum/209-audio-gear/1851738-single-klipsch-heresy-mi.html
  5. Definitely a very low WAF http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/ele/4843540056.html
  6. http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/klipsch-shows-reference-premiere-wireless-home-theater/ Lol I think that's them. Schu posted a video a page back. They looked interesting. Are those on the Klipsch site? I didn't see them.
  7. Are the other speakers on the Klipsch site? I'm not seeing them. The ones that look like they're playing off of an iPod.
  8. How is it offensive to current Reference owners? These Reference Premiere models look like they should out perform the current Ref ii models(RF-7 aside as no successor has been revealed). Maybe I'm wrong. I didn't see too much info on them yet. To me they looked like they made the cheap best buy series look like the reference. For instance, the center channel speakers look like RC64II's. At half the price I highly doubt they're better. Plus they're calling them Reference Premier, so in my mind they should be a step up.
  9. I'm not a fan of any of the new stuff. Even the name bothers me. Reference premier? If it's the Premier, shouldn't it be better quality than the current reference line? They should have named it something completely different. I think its a little offensive to current reference owners. I didn't read the 40 pages before this, so I'm sure a lot of this has been said. A reasonably priced 3 way tower would have been nice. At the RF7II price, they should be able to add a mid. I'm sure they sell a whole lot more lower end best buy model stuff. Business wise it makes more sense to appeal the masses, but I have no interest.
  10. What's the scam if there's no way to contact? It does seem like a scam, but useless if no one can even reply.
  11. Nice! I go there a lot for the malls and restaurants
  12. If you use the CL system, you should be protected in the future. Cool to meet someone else local on here. I work in Tribeca, live in Staten Island
  13. I just clicked reply on the top left of the craigslist ad. Then the anonymized email. That part is all through craigslist, which shouldn't have any virus. I did it from my iPhone, which I believe is immune to that stuff anyhow. The guy seemed straight forward that responded.
  14. I'm not sure what you clicked. I don't see how the email tab could give you a virus. I clicked and sent the seller an email. He responded shortly after saying that they sold right after he posted the ad, and that he was going to remove the ad now. Good deal for someone
  15. I'm guessing I missed this? I see $180 now:(

    Marantz PM8005

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=311184341971 No affiliation. New in box PM8005 $799. I've got 3 of the PM8004's (older model) I've had so many high end separates. These bested them all. These have all the power you need for Klipsch. For most speakers at reasonable levels. What makes these so great is they're dead quiet. With great tone controls to tweak a little. No hiss or noise at all out of the horns. Very detailed, but warm. If you don't mind used, the 8004's come up for 500-700 quite a bit.
  17. This whole thing is hysterical. The forum members were only looking out for you. They're beautiful speakers. CL is full of scams. Especially in the big cities. I live in NYC, and CL is virtually unusable here. Everything I respond to is a scam. Anything I list for sale they try to get me to send a check to Nigeria lol. If you decide to list your beautiful khorns again you should try some different sites if a forum member here isn't interested. I've always done very well on audiogon. US Audiomart seems to be the new best thing, since there's no fees. There's lots of other audio forums with free classifieds sections too. Best of luck
  18. Yes, I remember. I still own a HGS 18. It was two different statements. Made sense in my head;) 1st statement was just saying there's a big difference in surface area between the 15 and 18. 2nd was referring to speed. I was just saying since they're sealed, they still have a fast response. I wasn't implying one was ported.
  19. Strictly speaking surface area, velodyne to velodyne. There's a bigger difference going from a 15" to a 18", than going from a 8" to a 12". That's a lot of bang for the buck
  20. Like I said before. The velodyne 18 is in a different league than the 15. It's in a sealed box, so it's still pretty tight and fast. Especially for the money paid. That's an amazing deal.
  21. Driver/horn... You know what I mean. Just didn't want him misinformed. I heard the 5's and they didn't have the clarity of the 7's. I'd say closer to a RF-82 with veneer.
  22. I can't get the Klipsch information site to load right now for some reason, but I'm pretty sure the RF5 and RF7 DO NOT use the same horn. I believe that's the big difference. The RF-7 has the 1.75" where I believe the RF-5 is the 1". I remember hearing the 5, and to my ears it didn't have the sparkle of the 7.
  23. Congrats! Post pictures of the damage. You may not need to replace the drivers at all. The crinkle, is unfortunately pretty common and usually doesn't affect sound quality. Depending on how bad the puncture is, it may be repairable. At least try them out first.
  24. I didn't know if people were dealing on them yet. I think most of us are in no rush to put holes in our ceilings. Or buy those weird speakers with a crappy little speaker on top angled at the ceiling lol
