  1. I was thinking in the same range. His asking price is less than $600 and I think he would go even lower. I saw those... do you use SearchTempest?
  2. I'm not in the market for these at all, nor do I have a place for them at this time. However, I know someone who has a set and is wanting to move them pretty badly, what price is too good to walk away from? I do plan on moving next summer into a place that could accommodate a RF-63 setup and that's why I'm intrigued. I would buy them and stash them for 6-8 months if I can get the right price. They are also cherry, which I would prefer over the black. This would leave me time to track deals on a cherry RC-64 and a pair of RS-62s or 52s. So what $ amount is fair, and what $ amount is too good to walk away from these, whether I need them or not?
  3. That's a very nice score, I've been very close the buying an rf-42 setup before but have never come across a deal like that on one. Good thing you held out, they will surely be blown away by that setup. Love the pics on the other thread. I've seen the RF-7s in person before and know how large they are, but have never been fortunate enough to see the 83s. Those things are monsters. Have you ever done a side by side of the 83s to the 7s? If not I would love to see one, or if someone could lead me to a thread with a side by side that'd be great. Congrats again on the find, it's always fun to spend someone else's money. And what a wise investment by them, having you track it down, most people would walk out of Best Buy with a HTIB on that budget. Cheers!
  4. I'm using these as my new computer speakers at work replacing a pair of Quintet IIIs. They look mean and sound great. I can't believe this speaker line (Icon X) wasn't more successful. IMO it's the best looking speaker Klipsch has ever produced. The construction and presence is truly top notch. For reference I've attached a picture, monitor is 26".
  5. Found this one, it's in Canada but... thought I'd let you know about it. http://www.usaudiomart.com/details/649095784-klipsch_rt12d/
  6. Hello and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the purchase as well. Connecting a sub does require just a single cable. And the salesman was correct, plug one end of the cord into the white LFE input on the back of the subwoofer. Then plug the other end of the cord into the back of the receiver where it says subwoofer out. It doesn't matter which of the 2 subwoofer outputs you plug it into. Either should work. I'm assuming your receiver is capable of pushing 2 subwoofers and that's why there is 2 outlets for subwoofers on the back. Hope this helps.
  7. Congrats on the purchase! 1. The sub is probably just distorting if you have the volume turned up all the way. At least that's what it sounds like by the way your describing what's happening. I suggest turning the volume knob to halfway and starting there, then you can increase the volume of the sub as you see fit. 2. If it sounds like there is a screw loose I would probably return it. Of course I doubt it's anything that's going to affect the unit's performance, or that you or a guest is going to pick up your sound-bar and shake it. At least I hope not. That being said, if you just bought it, there shouldn't be anything moving around inside of the cabinet and it should be a hassle free return for you especially since you bought it locally. Good Luck!
  8. FYI...spoke to klipsch, they have these in stock $98 each. Its called a credenza stand
  9. Yea me too. I'm not generally one who is loyal to specific brands but Klipsch is the exception for me. Samsung is probably the next closest. I'm definitely a 4lifer when it comes to Klipsch. Enjoy
  10. Have you worn them for a long period of time? Say a hour or more? I liked the M40s and wanted to love them but after long periods of use they became extremely uncomfortable for me. Probably the first Klipsch product I have ever purchased that I wasn't fully satisfied with. I parted ways with them a few months back and have moved on to a set of Monster Inspirations which I really like. I've heard that the listening fatigue has been addressed with the new Klipsch Statuses. I'd like to try a set out to see if I suffer from the same discomfort. Maybe Klipsch will read this post and send me a set to regain my loyalty. I'm sure the low bass extension will improve with more break in. I own S4s and the M40s definitely went deeper. As far as sound quality goes I was very pleased with the M40s and always recieved a lot of stares and compliments while on travel. And I was probably asked this question a hundred times, "are they better than Beats?!" I would just smile and say "Yes, I think they are." Cheers and enjoy your new cans!
  11. If I do end up fabricating a set I would probably sell the one that I own. I will let you know, thanks.
  12. I do have all of those, I bought 3 pairs of XL-12s and don't use any of the components you are talking about. I have wall mounted all that are currently in use. Let me know I'd be happy to send them to you. Thanks.
  13. I would ask them to hook it up for you! They should be more than willing to do that for you. Its unfortunate bc they have an SB1 hooked up at my local bestbuy. Sounds good, I've considered going to a soundbar in my bedroom... but for the money you could put a heck of a 2.0 or 2.1 system together. You might wait and take a look at Klipschs new entry the SB120. I would think this would be a better performer if it works for your space. Good luck!
  14. Very cool! Thanks for posting, unfortunately it doesn't look like any of my pics made the cut. I may have to boycott
  15. Not sure what you have against him, I never saw his TV stuff at least not anything I remember and I was never a "Fast & Furious" fan (I saw 1 & 2 nothing after) but "Joy Ride" was a great psychotic killer movie I'd really recommend. "Candy Cane!?" RIP Paul.
  16. Just so you guys know what I'm talking about... http://www.m1systems.net/go.cfm/en-us/content/product/103/klipschxl-23lcr
  17. After 3 months of looking I finally was able to track down a XL-23 to use as my center. Someone posted one on ebay for $200 so a pretty good deal and I bought it immediately. I now intend to use a pair of XL-12s on my desk at work but need stands for them. The XL-23 comes with a stand but unfortunately klipsch didn't include one with the XL-12. So I'm looking for an XL-23 owner out there who would be willing to sell me their stand. The other option is I could have some built at my cnc machine shop however we are so busy right now I can't ask my guys to make speaker stands for me. So it might be awhile before I could have that done. Please XL-23 owners help me out! Thanks.
  18. Decent deal for the 5 speakers RF-82s, RC-62, and RS-62s. http://fortwayne.craigslist.org/ele/4142883495.html
  19. The issue isn't with the audio card, the M40s distort at max volume. I noticed this as well when I owned a set. Wasn't a huge issue for me as the volume was higher than my desired listening level at the point they would distort. My biggest complaint with the M40s was fatigue and the cans becoming uncomfortable after an hour or so of use. I've heard this has been addressed with the new Klipsch Statuses. However, I've moved on to Monster Inspirations and am extremely happy with them.
  20. I just spoke with the Guitar Center they said it is still available, for some reason it's not showing on their website anymore. They quoted $299 delivered + your local tax. However he sent me some pics and the unit looks a little rougher than you'd probably like.
  21. Sorry to hear that, that seemed like a pretty good deal depending on the condition of the sub, it was hard to tell from the picture. Good luck, I found this one too...not sure where you are located or if they will come down on price or not? http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/ele/4144250915.html
  22. The XW-500d is in an entirely different class than the HD 500. It's only 10" but w/ 500 watts it's hits very hard and clean since it's sealed. Not to mention the finish on it is top notch. It was Klipsch's top of line sub from 2008-2010 and retailed for $1000.
  23. I believe they will ship. Not sure of the condition however. I almost bought this last week but decided to pass. Havent seen any others available recently. http://m.guitarcenter.com/Item/Default.aspx?itemno=3161210&urx=1
  24. I use one of these in my bedroom & garage/gym, great little remote. Last year around Black Friday I walked into Sears and they had a bin full of these for $15 each. I bought 3 and gave one to my parents. $40 is still a good deal for this remote, I just lucked out.
  25. I've got a 5 speaker set of the quintet iii, sw-350 8" sub, and Onkyo TX-SR608 I've been trying to sell locally on Craigslist for a couple of weeks. If this is a route your considering, maybe we can strike a deal. However shipping everything may make it difficult for it to make sense for us all dollar wise. I have original boxes for all but shipping all three components will probably run in the ball park of $100.
