  1. ^^^depends on what gauge it is for longer runs, but less than 20 feet *should* be fine. What I did when I bought my system is looked at my local store, he quoted me a price and I was just about to get it until I decided to shop more online. Places only display the MSRP so you have to call to get a better price. Once I found out what price I could get, I was able to get a better system than I originally thought I could. After I looked online and found the best price, I went back to the local guy and he ended up beating the price to earn my business, so that's always worth a shot too.
  2. I've been looking forward to this movie the most. I will go get it today! Ah good, it wasn't just me that thought that...I thought the sound was overall a bit disappointing for such a big budget film. Good movie tho, definitely not sad I bought it.
  3. I don't see those ever selling at that price with that damage.
  4. I've noticed that cartoons seem to have the best sound imo, especially the newer Disney movies.
  5. I personally use netflix, amazon prime, and hulu plus. I'm completely satisfied with Netflix. The new release thing isn't a huge deal for me since I have a whole bunch of other DVDs and Blurays in my queue. I have also used Vudu, but if I"m going to spend that much to rent something, I'd rather get the bluray
  6. Thank ya =^) Apparently my wife bought me something already...not sure what she ended up getting.
  7. Hrmm...my bday is in October...tough choice there. I'm still opting for a second sub first methinks. I should also probably upgrade my TV before I upgrade my bluray player...and I guess I should have clicked around a little more to see that release date. I bet that 105 is going to be a beast.
  8. Any idea when the 103 is supposed to come out? That one has some excellent features that may come in handy in the future. From the oppo website: The BDP-103 represents a marked evolution in OPPO's design and engineering. New to this model are exciting features such as 4k video up-scaling, 2D to 3D conversion, dual HDMI inputs and MHL compatibility. A new dual-core System-on-Chip processor delivers quick startup and fast disc loading speed. With improved network streaming applications and an enriched media playback interface, the BDP-103 is a versatile player that delivers quality picture and premium sound. Might be worth the wait. Or just wait for an equivalent Denon. I've just read a lot of good about the denonlink and it might be worth it to get it for that reason.
  9. I think I have that album in my amazon cart...
  10. My birthday is coming up and I'm looking at what to get. My first choice is a second sub, but if the dealer won't give the same deal as before, my second choice is a bluray player so I can finally enjoy my Dark Side of the Moon SACD...The main reason I'm looking at the denon is because I've heard the denonlink is beneficial for one reason or another since I have the 4311. Any reason why I should go for the oppo instead? They both have the same MSRP. I suppose if I was to go for the oppo, I would end up just waiting for the 103 to come out...waddayathink?
  11. Kewl, maybe I'll be able to get a 95 for 93 money =^P

Sell it quick while you can. Soon there will be a flood of them for sale if it hasn't happened already with the XMC being released.
  13. ^^^I would go that route as well. ST50s seem to be the best bang for buck TV on the market right now.
  14. Just watched War of the Worlds. Not a bad flick, but it ends rather abruptly. Picture was grainy, maybe they meant for it to be that way? Sound quality was good, lots of LFE. I couldn't listen as loud as I would have liked since the wife was sleeping, but still enjoyable.
  15. Awesome all around. What kind of music do you do?
  16. Watching Fight Club now. Great SQ and PQ. A lot of nuances going on in the surrounds, not to mention a great movie =^)
  17. According to the klipsch website, the RC-25 was matched with the RF-25s. You might try to see if you can find one of those floating around somewhere.
  18. Title: AC/DC - Live At Donington Pros: Energetic set with all the songs you want to hear from the band. Angus Young runs around the stage like a madman making it a fun watch all around. The mix pans the guitarists left and right in the surrounds which is both good and bad (details in cons). The good is that it sounds like the band is sitting right in your living room. It's a 2 hour concert going thru all of their hits and starts with Thunderstruck which is a great intro into the concert. All around a fun watch which is recommended. Cons: The only problem with the bluray is that the guitars are a bit loud in the mix and the vocals are a bit buried. If the vocals were up and the guitars were down a bit it would have been a great all around sound, but it really detracts from the overall experience of the concert the way it is now. Equipment: In sig Rating: 4 out of 5 due to the sound mix Value: 3 out of 5. Bluray is $25 on amazon, and I would expect a better sound mix for a 5.1 music concert. If it was $15 I would say 5 out of 5. If you can buy a used copy, then definitely worth it.
  19. Title: Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same Pros: Great sounding mix all around. The video sometimes goes into weird little films while the music is playing as the soundtrack, so better for background music than watching, but very enjoyable. Great live performance with flawless playing by all musicians. It doesn't even sound like a live performance at some times. The 5.1 track is amazing and the sound mixer did a great job of utilizing the surrounds for the nuances of the mix such as echoes/reverb bouncing around. PQ is great as well. If you are a Zep fan at all, you must watch this. Cons: None Equipment: In sig Rating: Get it! Value: Excellent, I will definitely watch this again and again.
  20. I watched 21 Jumpstreet last night. Great movie all around with good sound and PQ.
  21. ^^^I agree. I watched Rambo last night (the newest one). I like the movie, definitely has some gruesome bits, but that doesn't bother me. I was a little disappointed with the sound since it was in 7.1. Not much LFE and surrounds were really only utilized significantly in the last gun fight scene. Still worth a watch if you haven't seen it on bluray tho.
  22. ^^^Sounds a little better than mine.
