  1. I don't know much about bass horns but I do know that you can't just buy woofers from SVS. Even though they show up on the parts page, they are only for current SVS owners that need to replace a damaged driver.
  2. Does anybody else find it funny when TheEAR talks about subwoofer overkill? I don't think it's useless to have a sub that can play ultra low. There's lots of dvd's with good lows. When Star Wars gets going on my HT, it sounds(and feels) a lot better with my current sub(flat to 15hz), than with my other subs that couldn't do <30hz with authority(dual LF-10's). I'll admit for music it doesn't make as big a difference as it does for HT, but that doens't mean it's not beneficial. I was surpised at how much music I had that actually did have some low frequency content. It just added a little more depth to the music.
  3. A second KSW will give you more output but it will still have no real output below 30hz. I would sell your current KSW12 and add that with the money you were going to spend on the other KSW12. You'll now be in a territory of single subs that can equal or give more output than dual KSW-12's and play below 30hz with authority. Something like the SVS Pci series comes to mind.
  4. Still available? If so, what color? Where are you located? This is the set of 5 correct? I'm gonna ask my friend to see if he's interested.
  5. I never even know those videos were there. Thanks for the link.
  6. Moon, Did you try to contact the lady who sold the speakers to you. I know you said you think she'll deny responsibility but you never know until you try. She just might cover the cost, considering how expensive a speaker you bought. Frank
  7. The most important thing to do is listen for yourself. Everyone's ears are different. While I was looking at receiver a while back, people were telling me that Sony ES sounded too bright with Klipsch and Denon was the best. I actually found the Sony(DA4ES) to sound great and the Denon(3802) to sound dull and boring(all w/RF-3II). My favorite receiver brand to mate with Klipsch so far is HK. After being spoiled by Parasound, the Harman Kardon AVR520 is the first receiver which I could live with the internal amps.
  8. Forgot to mention I'll take money order, cashier's check, cash, or Paypal(I won't charge you for my fees) as forms of payment.

  10. Hey Mr. Ear, Do you know if Tom Nousaine tested any of those subs in his 7500cu ft room? Also, if anyone has any info on other "Nousained" subs(in his current room) that aren't on the list, please post the info here or email me the info. fabulousfrankie@hotmail.com I'm currently searching the net for info on subs that aren't on the list. I'm gonna update the info as best I can, put it on a webpage to make it look a little neater, and post it to share with everyone.
  11. Forgot to mention my thoughts on the amplifier. I'd check out the 380 watt Rythmik plate amp for $165 shipped. It also features an adjustable subsonic filter.
  12. How about Blueprint Drivers as a cheaper alternative. www.audioliquidators.com The BPD 1201 is only $70 and can displace the same amount of air as the Shiva.
  13. For just a little more, I feel do get your money's worth with the KSW-12. If you look at the Tom Nousaine test on both, you'll see the 25-63hz average output is 8db higher and 25hz output is 5dB higher. I feel this is very much worth the $30 difference. Nousaine data As a previous owner of the KSW-12, I feel there are better subs for the price. After selling my KSW-12 I switched to the Infinity IL100s. It had similar output but I got rid of the one note boom boom syndrome the KSW subs are known for(goes lower according to the Nousaine tests). I later switched to the 12" version(IL120S), which slaughtered both in output and I still had the great sound quality of the Interlude subs. These Infinity subs also have a built in single band parametric eq called RABOS. The RABOS system will help battle against the largest peak in your room's frequency response. More than likely, it will make a significant difference in perceived sound quality. Both of these subs are within your price range, available from ebay seller: harmanaudio IMO, the subs are better looking and available in three different finishes.
  14. Minn_male, I agree. Since they're new and they're the more expensive Gold series, I was hoping $20 shipped price would overcome that. Their of the same caliber cable as the Monster Best Buy carries and Acoustic Research Pro series(not what Best Buy carries). Frank
  15. Just browsing Home Theater Forum and found what I thought was a good deal. It's a Dayton Titanic 12" in a Parts Express 3 cu ft enclusure selling for $165. The only catch is the seller is not shipping, he's in Jacksonville, FL. Click here
  16. Asking for $20 shipped to anywhere in the US. Like mentioned above, it is brand new. I just don't have the box. I bought this for my fiancee for $40 a few months ago. I was gonna return it but she didn't know that. She decided that it would take up less space out of the package so she threw the box away(she also threw away the receipt). For her acts, she got an el-cheapo $9 Walmart special cables(she doesn't care though). Radio Shack product page Click for larger image of actual cable for sale.
  17. I previously used a Monster cable RCA that sold at BB for like $60(I got it around $15 w/employee discount). I switched because I needed a different length. Now I use a 12ft Acoustic Research RG-6 coax cable I had lying around. I just screwed on these adapters from Radio Shack: It's cheap and it works good. I noticed no difference in sound quality.
  18. Moon, It is a great receiver and I was real reluctant to put it for sale. I do a lot of cable tv watching. Well my particular cable box(w/Cox digital cable) is kind of strange. Channels above 100 are digital and below are analog. The digital output only works for channels 100 and above. So whenever I want to watch channels below 100, I have to go to the receiver's menu and switch the input to analog. It's something that doesn't affect many people but it bugs the crap out of me. From a performance stand point, it's outstanding. It's the first receiver that's actually come close to the sound of my Parasound.
  19. Asking $425 plus actual Fedex ground shipping. If you're around the DC area, feel free to check it out first and pick it up. It includes the manual, main remote, and 2nd zone remote. It is in excellent condition, here are some pictures. Small Image (38kb) HUGE image (609kb) Most already know what this receiver is capable of, if you want more info, email me or look here: http://www.harmankardon.com/product_detail... I have sold a few things here but you can also check out my ebay feedback. fabulousfrankie@hotmail.com

  21. My thanks goes to Klipsch for their support as well. Frank(Army veteran)
  22. An Ultra will definately give you more low end grunt. Do you know how big your HT room will be? That would be a major factor in what sub would be best suit your system. I also would advise you to email SVS with your bass goals and room size. They'll make sure you get what you need and won't try to over sell you.
