  1. Selling a pair of rough KP201 (Heresy II parts in a Pro ported cabinet) and a nice pair of Electro Voice ELX118 subs. The KP201 are not pretty, but nothing that can't be fixed with some Duratex. The plastic edge guards are with the 201, but are not shown in the pictures. The EV have 18" woofers and are in good condition with a couple of small scuffs. Pictures show the worst places. The XLR cables are included and are shown in the pictures. $1,400 $1,200 OBO for the whole package local pickup close to Joliet IL.cEV.thumb.JPG.c3ecd44bf52ae0cdd95bf2486c24c2aa.JPGcEV118.thumb.JPG.626897f60116504f719345ab305cbc68.JPGCEVd.thumb.JPG.e16453c397e99a62f75eb5c4aa5558b2.JPG

One of the the CF3s back boards adhesive failed is loose but the speakers works.  Is standard wood glue recommended to fix it?  Gorilla glue? Epoxy?

    Welcome to the forum

Generally, it is not good to use regular wood glue on cured glue. I used some glue that is okay to use on other glues and such. I will try to find out what it is.

Not so much a $$$ issue, more concern about getting the finish on front cleaned up and or having to completely refinish both cabinets.

I am not sure what the finish issue is, but it doesn't look too bad. They look like they might have some Sun bleaching, which Walnut is known to do (due to Sunlight, Walnut lightens and Cherry darkens). If that's all that's keeping you from having these, I would go for it.

Dave Harris Eliptrac wooded horns for 2-inch compression drivers. Will include adapter for 1-inch drivers. This was a very difficult project to sand and prep once the assembly was complete. Would never want to do this project again LOL. They came out great! This horn sounds amazing with your favorite compression driver. Pick Up Only Clarksville TN

Those are beautiful. If I didn't already have a pair of these, I would buy yours.

Ur close go snag'em:D. They are wonderful horns anyone thinking about them. $325?...that's just the sanding labor.

That's about 11 hours round trip.

@avguytx, you're overthinking it. They're only 5 and a half hours away. There's more than 11 hours of sanding and finishing.  🙂

While you're there, you can swing on down to @Dave A to listen to his Super MWM with 402s and his two-way dual 12" woofer with tractrix horn speakers....AND get a pair of tractrix tweeters to go with the Dave Harris Epitrac 400s.

    Roadtrip - linear fun
    New speakers - exponential enjoyment
Epitrac speakers - tractrix... I mean priceless

I miss Dave, he was a good dude with good stuff. I wish I had the extra cash as there is a pair of his horns up for sale.  Those and the EV HP640 with the Faitals are hard to beat.  I still have Dave's Fastlane Drifts as surround speakers.

Sorry / not sorry for liking what you asked and said in 2013. I, now, have some of Dave's 'E' 400 and am trying to find out more about what drivers to use and what caps, chokes and xover points to use.

A/B comparisons are the best way to evaluate speakers.

I don't believe there is any other way, and it has to be right then. IMHO, what is unfair is not knowing how fresh the caps and such are. Another thing is that each pair needs to be 'dialed in' to sound its best, even using the same brand and even the same name. Ex: Trying to AB Forte to Forte II needs some adjustments to make each sound their best.

It really is like the photo above.

Preface: It's not easy to give a gift to those who need nothing, are old, and can't hear very well.

Years ago, I 'repurposed' a trumpet and a kid's bicycle horn to make a miniature megaphone and a tin ear for my Mom and Dad.
