  1. First off let me say this;I love Klipsch and will for ever, but they need to get there sub line together.I've heard the new RSW-15 and it's great. It's great just like it is.Very musical with it's passive radiator.Ported subs are great for HT,but I like sealed subs for music and HT. I'll get to the point;I rebuilt an HT for a friend of mine last night.I told him,to me,the best choice for what he wanted was a Bag End Infra-18 powered sub. What a monster. If any of you need something that will"keep up"with your Klipsch(any of them)Try this $1500 sub. His HT has KSP-400 mains and I set the subs in them so they will just blend as full range speakers. These are great speakers and the bass was excellent, but now they are even better. The Bag End will do damage to what ever you don't have glued down. Come on Klipsch, help us out here, build us an affordable sub that will do anything we want it to. The new sub would be great.I'd love to have one. Agian, let me say I'm not bashing Klipsch,I love them and Paul, but the new Klipsch needs to do some really serious subs. This is just my opinion and not meant to start any trouble.
  2. From what I've found out,the 20's tend to be a bit more musical than the 30's.Something to do with the smaller woofers in the 20's.Just my opinion!
  3. I have 2 Denons,3801 and 2800 and have found this works best;Mains large,"Front & subwoofer" I have found if you set "sub only",pro logic seems to suffer. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns,'75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. 4. John, just 2 channel stereo pro logic.Doesn't even compare with dts!!!! I forgot to mention Dave Matthews,Listener Supported.Another excellent mix.In Dolby digital.
  5. I like it because they kept most,if not all of the music out of the surrounds. You are more a part of the music than part of the stage.I hate music in the surrounds on concert DVDs.Just my opinion. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns,'75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. 6. I watched it on a Delta fligth coming back from CES this year.I enjoyed it.
  7. Domain, I hate that didn't work. There sure is a problem somewhere. I'm using Stinger Queen interconnects to feed my 2 SW 8 II subs and like I said,no problem with the bass.In my oppinion you won't get any difference in cable changes. In my living room I changed from the Stinger Queen to Monsters lest expensive bass interconnect and there was maybe just a bit of diff. I use regular RG-6 coax to feed my 12"powered sub that's running from my surround pre-outs and there is plenty of bass when it's in the surround channel. Maybe the upgrade to the 12 will help.Trey says the my 2 SW 8 II's are about the same as an KSW 10,maybe a 12. I know what I told you works for me and I've tried it all sorts of ways. My 2 8"'s are in the corner and about 6"from the walls. If your dealer is one of the"good"guys,he'll let you upgrade. In my 15.5'X26' living room there are 2 12"sealed with 400 watts rms to each and the one 12" powered, ported behind the couch, there is plenty of bass even at 115dB.And I want to change all that to 2 18"Infra 18"powered Bag Ends. The more the better! Good luck.
  8. About the La Scala being "barely fit to be a PA speaker",that's what it was designed to be.Who ever made that statement....well I won't say!One of the best sounding PA speakers in the world,I'd say. I have heard $2500 center channel speakers that couldn't come close to the vocal clarity of my Heresy.
  9. Like I wasn't going to keep you around!s> After all you did write the check for our Klipschorns! Ya soundog,I sometimes go there to get a laugh! Some are a real piece of work.Stay away from audioreview forums, unless you want to get mad as hell! That's just my oppinion!
  10. Ya,what she said!!s> And the stuff that doesn't really matter, well it makes it in like new condition. A friend sent me something UPS,he had boxed it in a small crate.UPS charged him to put it in one of their own boxes and when I got it,their box had a hole in it.Good thing it was double boxed.
  11. Hey Doug,if he had a problem spelling Cornwall, how would he be able to spell Klipsh,I mean Klipschs>
  12. I think the HCA-1201a is the mono block, right? The parasound rep.at CES this year told me I'd have a very hard time finding any.On the web site, but not really produced much. Go with the 200X5 Parasound, you will love it.
  13. tgourlie, your home page link doesn't work.Says it doesn't exist.Thought you might want to know.
  14. Why won't the Heresy work on top of yor TV?If it's video sheilding your worried about try on of the ones you have, try it upside down. That way you will get the woofer magnet away from the tube and get the tweeter closer to the same level as the mains. The C-7 I've heard from others is a good match, but give the Heresy a try first. My Heresy has been upside down on my rear projection for a year now and the weight has been no problem.C-7 is about the same. Forgot to mention this, try a cookie sheet under the Heresy,I heard some where it might help with the shielding.Sounds crazy, but what have you got to loose.
  15. Just for the heck of it,try Mains large with "fronts+subwoofer" My bed room system is;KSB 2.1's,SC-1,SS1's and 2 SW 8 II subs(8"driver w/10"passive) set that way and I have the levels on the subs set just short of half with the level on my 2800 at about -7. I have found that setting the fronts+sub will get you bass on all material not just LFE. Room size is 13'X 21' Try that and let me know what happens. You shouldn't have any problem getting good bass. When you get the Rat shack meter you might be suprised at how much bass is really there. You might try the manual level setting on the Denon, that way you can move to each speaker on your own.Easy way to get used to the meter.
  16. It will be printed in the cup on the back where the nanna jacks are.
  17. You can buy just one Heresy. That's what I'd do.Ross bought 3 Heaersy's at one time with no problem. The KSP-S6's will work fine with the Heritage line. You will pay less for one Heresy than say one KLF-C7. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns,'75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. KSP-S6 at sides 2 KSP-S6's rear. 18. I have had both Yamaha and Denon with different Klipsch speakers. Depends on the sound you are looking for.Yamaha is a bit bright for me and Denon a little more laid back in the high end. I set up a friends system a while back.He had a small Yam and was driving some'96 La Scalas and I was listening to some 2 channel music(jazz, classic rock)and I thought the combo was very nice. He went with the Denon 3801 and K-Horns.We both felt the HT was better. The only thing I don't like about Yamaha is their remote.Pain in the ***(IMHO).It's what ever you get used to.Denon is a lot easier to me.But that is not why I went with Denon.I just like the sound. It's very natural sounding. It's just my opinion. Go listen and decide. It's not always easy to do that at some dealers. ------------------ Main HT:'77 Klipschorns,'75 Heresy center, modified with,K-Horn sqauwker & AA network. 19. Klipsch now has Mondial Designs, they make Acurus and Aragon.I had a chance to hear the new Referance line driven by the Aragon new 200X5 amp.I liked it.
  20. I have both and yes they are worth it.AVIA was bought right after it came out, they are both very usefull. They can be found for less than $40.
  21. The KSC-C1 is the match for the KSB 3.1,2.1,1.1. The SC-1 is the replacement for the KSC-C1,but with a 90X60 instead of the 90X40. The KSB line was replaced with SB-3,SB-2 and SB-1. Get the SS-1 surrounds.Don't mess with the KSB-S1's.Even the SS.5's are better, but the SS-1's are a +. I'm using the SC-1 with my KSB 2.1's and SS-1's in my bed room and they are a great match.I had the KSB 1.1 as surrounds and love the SS-1's.
  22. I agree,as I was sitting on the other side of Paul during this discussion.
  23. Doug is right,it worked very good.I can not tell the difference between the home made EX and the matrixed EX that the 3801 does. Now the ES discrete is a noticable difference. But still nothing to jump up and down about. I completly agree with John, but I'd go with 2 Heresy centers.
  24. Try the Reference line,I have the IW-150's and the spl on them is way to low to keep up with my K-Horns.I ahve KSP-S6 side surrounds and just found some more KSP-S6's to take the IW's place.I don't do too much 5 channel music. I've heard that the reference line matches most other lines farly good.Having not listened, can't say for sure. Direct radiating surrounds can do a very good job, just depends on the room lay-out.
