Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire, are two good albums to have...Clapton is of course phenomenal, but I love listening behind his solo work to what Ginger and Jack are doing on drums and bass...Ginger is an exceptional drummer...If you get a chance, check out the documentary "Beware of Mr. Baker"  I believe  it's on Youtube...

    Cheers

They are the albums I would want in the collection

Will get a start on the video documentary

  2. I purchased extra storage space in the form of a record cabinet yesterday, that I plan to repaint in black and use for my most played records

In a past life it was used as an animation cell box - back in the old days when each cell was hand painted on acetate cells they needed to stay in order and dry out - hence all of the ply dividers which can be removed

And some jazz records from the same fellow

So I will start to spin the first of three records I received now

Starting with a double album from 1972 by a well respected jazz drummer that has played with and for the best

Some say he was probably the greatest rhythmic drummer

    Artist - Elvin Jones

Title - Live At The Lighthouse

    A US Blue Note pressing

  3. I’m going to purchase a ticket for the return of Steve Hackett to Australia in 2020

He will be performing the complete album - Selling England By the Pound in its entirety.

Think I’m going all out and get a near front row seat and say stuff the cost @ $150.00

  11. I am finishing off my Jazz weekend with another classic album

Great Sunday evening spinning ( AU time )

Live at the club ( but I have that read the venue was actually at the capital studios in LA in front of an invited live audience )

A lively and enjoyable jazz album that puts a smile on your face just by listening to it

    Artist - Cannonball Adderley

    Title - Mercy Mercy Mercy

  12. I’m settling in to another Jazz weekend that started yesterday

Let me just say that the only thing I dislike about this album is the corny cover art

That said - now onto my description of this Free Jazz genre album

First released in 1959 and I was mesmerised from the first track

If you have never heard musical instruments talking to each other then listen to 2 horns talk in this album

    Totally unique and another masterpiece

    Artist - Ornette Coleman

Title - The Shape Of Jazz To Come
