  1. And following on the coattail of the last album This album can be romantic at times and then changes tack to other moods from happy to a medley of tracks Some tracks are original and some are covers Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Dreams and All That
  2. Continuing on with Leo Kottke However this is sort of a collaboration album with a twist 3 Artists performing 4 original songs a piece All very similar styles Artist - Leo Kottke, John Fahey & Peter Lang Title - Self Titled
  3. First record I personally purchased was King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
  4. Dave Brubeck A classic that still tingles the blood circulation when played
  5. Looking forward to it And I will continue on the Leo Kottke path with diversion in between 🎶
  6. Just to break things up a little I present a very underated album by an Australian band Genre would be new wave / synth pop In my opinion- This band was equal to - or better than the Pet Shop Boys and New Order One can't help but like every song track on the album Unfortunately pigeonholed as a one hit wonder with the still popular song Send Me An Angel - I know you all know it 😄 Artist - Real Life Title - Heartland
  7. Following on with another Leo Kottke spin This album is more in the country genre with more vocal over guitar solos A side diversion from what is Leo's usual style However this release has everything a good album needs to start ones appreciation of his work Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Ice Water
  8. Next up on the Leo Kottke playlist On this release is some of his finest guitar playing of his career as it's truely outstanding on this album Love the track Louise Enjoy Artist - Leo Kottke Title - My Feet Are Smiling
  9. I have a lot of experience in building single driver speakers and have learnt a thing or two Only damp the front panel where the ports are located If you have reverb issues or two much bass you can also damp the sides but no more My speakers are completely finished now After the satisfactory completion of the bass bin I went onto crossovers Now that was a labour of love
  10. Hi Koos This is one solution Click on the window below and it will take you to the build thread 👌
  11. Sorry mate I can't help as I haven't had any experience with building this speaker However I can help with Crossovers 🎶
  12. Just thought to mix things up a little in between records This album is the first solo album by a recently departed prog guitarist Its also an album that is seldom seen My opinion is that it's very rewarding but it needs a few plays to hear all that it releases on each play and presents to the listener Artist - Jon Anderson Title - Olias Of Sunhillow
  13. I have quite the collection so be watching as I post
  14. Continuing on with bluegrass or progressive folk I got that word prog in somehow 😎 More vocals on this record from the previous and beautifully done Artist - Loe Kottke Title - Greenhouse
  15. I won't be moving on my La Scala's anytime soon now that I have modified them to the penultimate level Just the way I like them 🔊 Think I will pass them onto the family when I die
  16. Thanks @ClaudeJ1 Thing is that I don't like to much bass as I favour midrange with a good balance all round The reason is that I come from a very long time, 20/30 years of building and enjoying full range, single driver Lowther speakers That just equates to personal preference and I'm not going to chase something I probably won't like
  17. Thanks for trying 👌 My votes also go to the La Scala However I call it as I hear it - Having said that - It could just have been the room and the selective setup of that particular system But overall the La Scala would win hands down Im sure I originally said that
  18. I am going on a bit of a tangent now To the land of briliant finger guitar playing with a grass roots - traditional folk & bluegrass genre I have about a dozen albums by Leo Kottke ( not the whole collection) and will play them ones I have in order of release This album has a degree of softness in parts that is mellow and contemplative 🤔 Starring today with Artist - Leo Kottke Title - Mudlark
  19. Im not sure if are for the La Scala camp or for the Wilson camp with your answer Suffice to say that with the modifications in my La Scala, they can reach to low 30s htz - but very accurate and pleasing htz
  20. Morning mate - good to see you again Crites has 4 variation plans of the Cornscala -- A, B, C, D http://www.critesspeakers.com/cornscala.html My view on the volume is - the more volume the better So use the full size dimensions of the current combined driver cabinet, and add the seperate midrange and tweeter on top of the full size bass bin Also go 25 mm thick on the panels I should also add that the Great Plains 399 8A are a superb mid range horn
  21. Actualy they would come out equal in most circumstances but different due to design My "modified" La Scala are more defined and excel in highly complex multi layer music passages and better in low volume definition But the Wilson go down further in the lower register so they beat the La Scala in that area
  22. Here are the Wilsons I spent the afternoon listening to
  23. As an owner of highly modified La Scala speakers I can concur with a couple of statements on that article And I have heard a pair of Wilsons
  24. I would like an UP arrow added - to press for a quick auto scroll up from the bottom of the thread page A thumbs up would be nice in the reaction selection Also is it possible to remove or increase the photo upload limit Thanks in advance
  25. I am spinning an old favourite album from my youth Often seen this band live in the clubs of my home town This band was from New Zealand and made Australia home Artist - My Sex Title - Space Race
