    RT-10D

I have an opportunity to buy an RT-10D for about $500. I want a sub to go with my Cornscala C's. The room is about 10x30 with thick carpeting and acoustic ceilings. Any thoughts or advice?
  2. "I also use two subs. One approach I like is xo the speakers at 80 and also xo the sub at 80 Hz with a 48 db LR slope on the Berhinger I Nuke DSP. This really cleans up the low end . It is not commonly recommended to use two xo, but there is nothing wrong with doing it. This works well with front firing subwoofers." Geez, I am trying my best to learn about this stuff but is there an English version of this topic?
  3. Being an NCIS fanatic, I tried my best to follow Gibb's lead and grow accustomed to Starbuck's coffee. However, after severe shakes, horrible acid stomach and a generally sour taste in my mouth, I returned to 8 O'clock coffee, the fragrance being familiar from my childhood when I would accompany my mother to A&P. Just a bookshelf speaker level coffee drinker.
  4. The listing ended. If you go to "advanced search" and check completed listings, you will find it. He wants $750. His original MSRP is exaggerated at $1380. You can find a new one (w/o headphone jack) for $960. http://www.eugenehifi.com/Almarro/htm/Almarro_Amplifiers.htm
  5. I tried lemon oil and they look new. I will watch and see how long they continue to look that way. The previous owner never put anything on them. They built a new home about ten years ago, installed in-wall speakers and packed the Heresys up and put them away. They still sound great. For $400 (and local pickup) I am a happy camper. Thanks, all.
  6. Thanks, Bruce. They are not lacquered. There are no rings or stains, just some fading on the tops, probably from the sun. Have you ever tried tongue oil?
  7. Hi All, I just bought a pair of Heresys from about 1985. They seem to be in perfect condition, and the cabinets are in perfect condition with one exception. The tops of both cabinets are a bit faded. You need to look at them from the right angle to see the difference in the finish. I am wondering if they can be oiled, and if so, what do I use. Since they are barely noticeable I do not want to take a chance on making them worse. Thanks
  8. I hooked up the B&K 2220 today and have not been able to leave the room for the last five hours. It is paired to an old Phase Linear 4000 preamp and some great Cornscalas I bought here a few weeks ago. I was feeling a little blue about the Cornscalas until I hooked up the B&K and the Phase Linear (I was using a Pioneer 1323k for the past few weeks). Wow, what a difference. Far better bass, and a much more detailed sound stage. The Cornscalas are GREAT speakers now and to think I was considering dumping them!
  9. No, I was referring to member placed ads, but I will learn my place and keep my mouth shut. Cheers!
  10. Greetings from my Ford Station Wagon! I am also looking for some Cornwalls. Yesterday there was a pristine set for $600, but alas, they were beyond my Ford's driving range,
  11. Hi Vindeville, On the way and should be there by noon! I have left messages with all the local and state authorities and the rescue volunteers as traveling to Watertown in the winter (e.g., October to May) is always a chancy undertaking. See you soon...I hope.
  12. Hello All, I hope you will not think I am obnoxious for just joining the Forum and offering an "idea" about the site, but given the number of "local only" sales, wouldn't it make sense for the website to be formatted in such a way as to have the location of the item listed on the summary page? I have been looking for certain speakers/amps and when I see what I am looking for I get all excited, only to find out that it is 1000 miles away and sold for local pick-up only. Sorry for being a know-it-all, and this is a great forum.
  13. For $400 it is almost worth moving to Houston!
  14. Are all the components original (as ordered from Bob) other than the drivers? Also, can you tell us the condition of the cabinets and fabrics? Lastly, how do I get in touch with you? Thanks
  15. Hi, I am interested in the Cornscalas. Where are you located? I am in Ithaca and generally familiar with Watertown/1000 Islands. Will they fit in the back of a Ford station wagon? Thanks
