  1. I am not sure what is driving this but in part I think it is the last round of Klipsch price increases. The other and perhaps biggest part since the price increases started before the wuhan red death is a cultural change. Appreciation of various things seems to go in cycles and I think good home audio is becoming more popular and of course the stay at home thing had to have helped this along. I have had the average age of prospective buyers steadily drop in the last year or so. The last KPT-456 and KPT904's I have sold both went to men in their low thirties guessing on their ages.
  2. These things are sure getting expensive fast. Last one I know of close by sold for $2,000 and another one is listed for $2900 and the dude has not budged for a month now.
  3. When I use the PEQ's for my S-MWM the acoustic guitar is loud and clear. Yes it is a different channel but muted to almost inaudible with the recommended PEQ's. I hope by summers end to know how to use REW well enough to solve these problems on my own. Right now I have no idea what is wrong.
  4. You are close enough to make the trip. Nashville Plywood and last time I bought a month or so ago I got 25mm 4' x 8' for $77 a sheet. You better have a big husky guy to help you move it though. 60" x 60" x 25mm was $54 last time I bought and they have it from 6mm up to I think one size above 25mm. If they are selling that cheap in Atlanta I wonder if prices are headed down here. I thought $77 was a real deal.
  5. Sad news is throw it out. Getting reconing done any more is a real pain and then you have to wonder if they used OEM equivalent parts to recone with. For future reference If you need to replace one that has been trashed I would look on EBay or Craiglist for a real K-48-K. I have a stack of K-45's here which are harder to find and I am giving them away rather than try to get them fixed. If you have the parameters of the woofer you can call Eminence for a close match or Klipsch for an OEM but it wont be cheap.
  6. Try UAH and NASA from Huntsville. Much of the serious study is done here just south of me. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/blogs/climateqa/category/global-warming-myths/
  7. Whats with the big font size?
  8. You remind me of my wife. I say something and she takes the opposite position regardless. Can you document how I am wrong and do so without using enviro wacko schills?
  9. I have tried the recommended xilixa setting for the KPT-942/4 and get really weird results. For instance on Pinball Wizard's acoustic guitar intro I can barely hear it and then the electric guitar comes blasting out. Other odd bits are missing too from other songs. Now I go back to the settings I came up with for my S-MWM and it sounds pretty darned good. I have serially jumped the two sets of woofers together in the bass bin and have read a 7.6 ohm load on them. I notice the factory 535 crossover I have also has a spot where you can hook up the two sets of woofers in the 415lf as two feeds and not as one. As far as I can tell this is the only difference in what the stock configuration would be but since it is the LF side of it all I don't see how it would effect HF output. Great sounding setup but I know there is more there to be had.
  10. Better that than boogerman.
  11. I quit 41 years ago but still like the smell at times. Some cigars and pipe tobacco in particular. Remembering a man at a camp ground when I was young coughing his guts out for great periods of time each morning with his morning cigarettes quickly overwhelms any desire to inhale.
  12. CO2 is not a problem but the other items mentioned in the world air quality map are. CO2 came about since the USA cleaned up so much that there had to be a new boogy man to holler about. When these enviro dudes demanded cleaner exhaust from cars CO2 was considered benign and far more desirable than all the pre catalytic goodies. I like how green houses flood their green houses with "toxic" CO2 so plants can grow better. I think more is great and if enough is out there maybe we can get away from petro chemical fertilizers more. As an aside here since this is another global warming boogyman I think it is worth noting that since about 21,000 or so years ago we have been warming which predates SUV's and cow farts. Maybe even burrito farts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin_glaciation
  13. Yes a mobidly obese child with type 1 diabetes and 1500 sugar level is hardly healthy or normal. It is insane the misrepresentation in this article. What I find even more appalling is this. "Johnny and Andre’s two sisters were subsequently swabbed, and they, too, were positive, though they had only mild fevers and fatigue. Dawn, who was at the hospital with Andre, decided not to get tested because, according to Riley’s policy, if she tested positive she would not be allowed back into the hospital until she tested negative twice." So momma went to a hospital and exposed others because her child was ill and caused how many others to potentially come down with this. Reminds me of various governors and their cavalier treatment of old folks homes.
  14. You mean the stuff humans exhale? That plants need to flourish? How about overall air quality and not single out just one specific thing. https://waqi.info/
  15. Yeah I have to admit that did not come out the way I meant it too. Now where is the I am embarrassed smiley face?
  16. If the guy shows up Monday the 200's are GONE.
  17. Solely about this. There is no real concern for the common man that I can see after the nursing home debacles.
  18. I would go in a heartbeat if it was closer and you did not have to camp out for a day or so just to get in. Nothing like it in my lifetime and it would be thrilling to attend. I bet people will be lined up and camping out and the numbers are going to be yuge.
  19. Oh I don't dismiss it I am poking at those who dismissed the Hydroxy stuff as being invalid because it was reports from various practitioners who were seeing results but not a "scientific" study. I find people on the front lines who report things as a valid source. At this point in time I trust nothing anymore since I am not there to see it and verify it. WAY to much lying and manipulation and cost to society way out of line with the wuhan burden. I listen to sources of information and give more validity to them based on the past actions and accuracy of reporting that I have seen borne out over time with evidence and positive results. I no longer entertain the idea this is about disease but rather molding minds to help eliminate the Constitution and the USA as it has been known. Look around you at all that is going on and ask why now when things were going so well. Years ago I read a book called The Greening by Larry Abrahams. In there he stated that there were people who wanted to rule over us all as in the whole world. It is not a new idea and the League of Nations was the first modern version of this attempt. The way to do it was to create an emergency that passed all borders and was international and presented as something only a super world wide authority could manage. The environment filled this requirement quite well except there were those like the USA which determined it was a fraud based on the idea that China and India, the largest sources of pollution by far, and many other smaller nations like Iran with perhaps the worst single source pollution burden in the world did not have to clean up. With modern communications being what it is and the world seeing who really does pollute the most the USA dropped out. This disease is a perfect thing to substitute for the environment and apparently has worked quite well. Just a few short years ago when it looked like the current adminstration was going to go along with all the environmental stuff the Swine flu was treated as nothing special. I think there are people out there who lust for total control and play on a much bigger chess board than any one of us would aspire to even if we had the ability and connections to do so. Well most of us any way as there just might be some here that would love to tell people how high and how often to jump all determined by their own desires and disregarding others desires.
  20. Right and the doctors testifying about Hydroxy who collected data they personally observed were dismissed as anecdotal here. Can't have it both ways. They too have kept tabs on things and the discrediting of the flawed and biased Lancet report so many relied upon was "scientific" and to be relied upon as gospel. That's my whole point in all this namely deliberate obfuscation of pertinent details means it is not just or even mainly about keeping people safe from the scourge of wuhan red death it is about control of our lives and unless they can panic us we would never give up these rights up.
  21. This is not a scientific study it is anecdotal and are not bits of anecdotal evidence to be dismissed?
  22. Well you paint it as you see it. For me I see something hardly worse than a severe year of flu being used to usurp the constitution. I am a bit surprised at how cavalier people who are comfortable in retirement and secure income are towards those who have to earn a living and also want that same comfort in the future which is being taken away from them. Everything has a cost and the cost to society for this has been WAY to high and it is not being treated as a disease but as a tool to enforce a wish list of big government takeovers of a society that can't, so far anyway, be manipulated into voluntarily giving up the constitution. There is another difference. Some fear just for themselves with no regard for others and want to make other people do things that make them feel safer. Some worry about the country and what is being done and do the costs benefit the nation as a whole or does the cost inflict harm more than good. I don't think the hypocrisy of the lockdown crowd choosing to violate those lockdown rules because they want too while telling others they don't like or approve of for various reasons to stay shut down or in or face jail or fines is going un-noticed by many who are fed up with this double standard. It is for all or none if it is supposed to be for a defined area like a city or state.. The truth of the matter is only identified at risk groups should have ever been quarantined but even here the lockdown crowd has excelled at bad policy which proves they really never cared about the disease anyway. 72% of wuhan deaths in PA for instance are in nursing homes where they were forced to inoculate patients with wuhan because they had to take wuhan positive patients in. See also NY and NJ. This whole wuhan thing is mainly not about controlling a virulent disease. It is about controlling.
  23. Or protests where they congregate indoors to loot and burn. Permitted behavior among various cities and after mingling in close proximity in holding cells released to do more. Funny how covid went away for some groups as mayors and governors walked among the selected venues.
  24. OK for the sake of argument in Mi inside you had pot stores and liquor stores and lottery tickets and no church. You know there has been free reign for some while law abiding citizens are locked down. There are of course other, no make that many examples in other states to if you care to look. indoor activites
