On their FAQ page they say "WE DO NOT RECOMMEND FIRING PROJECTILES OUT OF OUR CANNONS"

Of course they would! Nod Nod wink wink. Put that sucker on the other side of a big tree and let it rip. Around here before the nanny state ruined things we used to get dynamite for stumps and have fun. Used to pack hollow base anvils with black powder and see who could launch one the highest. Today we settle for Tannerite and man am I glad I don't live in the city. Two pounds of that stuff is really attention getting and the grand kids just love it. I am their favorite Grandpa needless to say.

I would like to know what filters Klipsch uses on the new models to make them nice again.

1" thick side wall filters mostly. They did go to these for a reason. But I understand doing the practical thing last when all those lovely electronic goodies are calling. I have been guilty of the same thing as recently as this week with drivers that did not work out.

If you are shipping them the only way they will arrive in one piece, strapped to a pallet and loaded on a freight truck, I wouldn't worry about the washers.

However, if you are shipping them by common courier (fedex, ups, et. al), you have more to worry about than damage to the grills. The klipsch boxes are an afterthought and weren't designed with shipping in mind.

UShip has not damaged one thing received here or sent from here. So far their record has been 100% for me. + cheaper.

I'm also going to temporarily clamp some blocks to the sides of the bass bins to add support as a test to see if there's any resonances of the bass horn that are contributing to the sounds I'm hearing.

Quick easy test. I have had two sets that did not need side braces. One was a one piece LSI with fiberglass and AL trim. The other had plywood that measured .77" thick as compared to the normal .7" thick stuff. It was visually thicker which drew my attention and also sounded good without having the mod done.

  5. You will find that most La Scalas have sides that can really howl at volume and until you add mid braces all the other stuff is helpful but will not solve the problem. When I used to fix up La Scalas none would leave here without the sidewalls being fixed. Two little pieces of plywood and it is the cheapest and many times the single largest improvement I have personally seen.

It appears he is trying to run 6 speakers off of a 2 channel amp

    Dropping the ohms too low?

I don't think that since a multichannel amp should cover each channel up to a certain wattage per channel or as an aggregate output for all added together. I am wondering the larger draw channels are closing down from overheating. I have only had one amp that was multi channel and have never had much interest in them so kind of conjecture on my part.

Just get out your checkbook or start saving now @Travis In Austin  In the next few years the pay for the players, the conference, the college, the NCAA are all going to be getting fat off the fans.  Another one of the QB's from OSU hit the portal this week.  He was going to pick up 1.2 million from OSU for playing 4 years.  So he leaves and picks up a check for a couple hundred thousand earned standing on the sideline, goes to another school and picks up more cash.  Where's the money coming from?  Licensing and trademarks, higher ticket prices,  corporate loge boxes, public ticket sales etc.  PPV is another way for ESPN to make some cash while kicking back money into the Conferences who snag some then down hill to the Universities.  Watch it on major networks for free?  Nope, ESPN will pay the local networks to cover the games.  They already share things sports related w/other networks.  It's gonna be a major cluster f*&) down the road.  Sure you can tailgate and go to a game but parking will be minimal and farther away from the event.  The close parking will be sold to those partaking in the all-in-one tailgates run by the Uni's.  Gotta make money anyway they can.  It's down the road but that's what I've been told.

It's a free market and prices charged for events like this have long amazed me. A self inflicted wound caused by those who spend the money and never seem to care how much. The only way to stop this is to refuse to subsidize this and I find few complainers willing to do so. If you are not willing to cut the cable then be quiet and pay.

They found significantly more effect from poor connections

ABSOLUTELY and I went to fork crimp connectors when I found poor or even loose female or compressed male banana plugs on either the wire end or terminal cup. Wires stuck in those compression banana plugs also seem to work loose. IIf you use those make sure there is a good snug fit and remember that you accidentally kick that wire once that may be enough to cause that loose connection. I know, no one ever does that, right?

$1600 is at the high end for a 2505, particularly if it is not "serviced" or recapped.  An MC250 is a much better buy.  Same amp, no wonky meters or knobs.

I don't know a thing about MACs just thought it might be of interest to someone. I have my yummy and cheap Crown to keep me happy.

@Dave A, sorry to hear that... I haven’t used Canada post lately but they were good to me including I think when I bought from you!  Can be dicey going across the boarder at best of time.   There are some forum members in TO area too... pony express?

Of course not every shipment was bad. Way to many have been though.

@ssh, there are 2 used K2 on Canada Audio Mart in Toronto. No affiliation, buyer beware etc. I think there were some other Crown amps recently too if you can get them across the boarder? Good luck.

Yeah Canada's postal is so screwed up it is unreal and expensive too. I have more trouble sending things to Canada then any other country that I have allowed to buy.  Canadian customers have come real close twice to being cut off because their postal is so incompetent, destructive, slow and expensive.

I'm sorry, but that right there is funny.

    No it is hysterically funny.

As an aside here  I don't remember reading of so many ways to complicate an AA crossover recap job in a long time.

It’s a common affliction - more than wow factor fading - a classic case of upgradeitis. And unfortunately your next move to H4’s or Forte, CW etc. will not cure what you got. A stop gap, yes. A cure, no. Upgradeitis generally shrugs any and all attempts at vaccination so buckle in. The journey to nirvana is a long and expensive road - enjoy the scenery -

Well he did say WAF counted but yes, as you say, upgraditis strikes many of us. I ended up with pro gear and eventually a set of MCM 1900's because they take the same notes and give them life and authority smaller speakers can never achieve. Went through a ton of stuff before I made the Super MWM's because I had certain goals. Mainly I wanted to sit next to the 32' organ pipes for real and not just a wimpy imitation of them. I never heard the Heresy 4's but I did hear the CW 4's and I figure for a small box it will be as good as you can get. I have built two Super Heresy's and people always thought it was the big speakers playing when they came here to hear them.

I have my big speakers in the shop where I get no complaints about size or volume and spend a fair amount of time out there. My wife is welcome to have her house without the big old speakers but then if she wants to spend time with me she often will find me in the shop where the music is and not the house where Fakebook is.
