  1. Carver dabbled in something similar at the hardware level in the 70’s and 80’s. Called ‘sonic holography’ on some or their preamps. I have a c-19 that I’ve been meaning to swap in and fool around with it.
  2. Did you check/replace the gasket between the k55 and horn? They can dry out and crack. Haven't done mine yet, but they have been recapped. To my ears the mids do still have an edge to them, which I enjoy. Probably a big part of why I prefer my original Forte vs the Forte II.
  3. Hopefully the new caps will smooth them out and find some additional low end. The mid and high both get 3db louder in the E. Just wait till you hear yours with Claude's super heresy mods. I'd given up on mine for years and had them stacked in the corner of the garage until I got curious a couple months ago and ported them with Dayton woofers. Completely different personality.
  4. Looking really nice. Did you recap the C networks or listening to them with original capacitors?
  5. True. But in his case he's swapping out a 16ohm and replacing with an 8ohm k22. It'll be more bass biased in his C network vs an E where the mid and tweet are raised a tap
  6. "Best" is subjective, but if you want to listen to them as PWK voiced them, an update to the E network would be appropriate. I'd update the caps on the C and take a listen. Order an extra pair of 1uf or 2uf caps at the same time to update to an E if you don't like the C. With the k22k swap, the bass will be more pronounced vs an E. Not necessarily a bad thing...
  7. Post up a pic. The ‘speaker’ on the back is the passive radiator. It won’t have a wire…
  8. https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/klipsch-heritage-s-n-dates-code-decoder.147797/ Lots of info there on dating them. Appear to be decorator model heresy that someone had made grills for at one time. Is that a klipsch metal logo that’s painted over?
  9. Lots of rp speakers on sale at Adorama as well..
  10. Hi.. Interested in these. I'm in central NH.. Can you send me an email at coexjet@gmail.com ? Been lurking on here for years, but cannot message.
  11. What are you planning on using them for?
