  1. Hmmmm... I would offer my knowledge on such subjects, but they may not be welcome...
  2. You are very welcome, I am but a humble servant to the Klipsch community here. Least I can do for the great advice I have gotten over the past 2 months.
  3. actually the bose 901 didn't sound to bad to me. Definitely lacked the range that Klipsch brings to the table, I wouldn't spend a small fortune on them, but for what they are I would pay a little bit for them
  4. 4k will also be available on Netflix as well as Sony's movie library (about $30 a movie if you purchase). It is a fledgling technology right now, so it is still trying to catch traction. In all reality though, there wont be a noticeable difference if you sit more than 8 feet from your tv. The human eye cannot differentiate the pixels of 1080p at 8-10 feet so smaller pixels will not increase the sharpness of the television. To get the same effect that larger screens benefited from 1080p over the standard definition, the television would need to be somewhere around 200". The only real benefit to having 4k right now is for the passive 3d features. With passive 3D, the television effectively cuts its resolution in half. Every other line of pixels on the television is perceived by the right or left eye and this produces the 3D image. Active 3D (the better technology in my opinion) works by shuttering the glasses at high speeds (left then right then left then right) to give you the perception of 3D. The only downside to this is it dims the image a bit. I am torn by which TV to get right now. The local best buy has the 55" sonys from last year with the premium sound for about $2400 NIB and 2200 for the floor model. I would love 4k, but the more I read on the subject, it really doesn't matter for what I need it for. I am also looking at a 60" sharp Q+ that looks gorgeous as well as a Samsung 7150 65" model. For around $2000 both TVs offer a crisp image and have active 3D. In a nut shell though, unless your sitting like 4 feet from your TV, you will not see the benefits of 4k over 1080p. Perhaps someday humans can be retrofitted with hawk eyes... and then we will need 400k tv
  5. I want to get some 5s. I want at least an LR of 5s and slowly change out the 3s for 5s.
  6. That sux.... Second one like that. Got one from a gears guy a few weeks ago claiming to be Canadian.... He said 500 Canadian for his 4 and I said too much... I said I wasn't looking to spend more than 400 for the lot... Probably not more than 65 a speaker... He didn't do the math and said 400 was fine... Never provided the pics... I ignored him after that... Had terrible grammar too
  7. Wow usnret, that is the exact same message I got, but swap out the kpt-100 with klipsch rsx-5 black and gold... Could be a klipsch collector... But sounding fishier
  8. It isn't the fact that they are new... Im just wondering if this happens regularly (people creating accounts for the sole purpose of contacting you with a sale proposition). Just looking for some insight from the greater community. I hope it is genuine as I could basically get all the speakers im looking for in one fell swoop
  9. I have a thread stating my desire to buy some rsx-5 speakers. Twice now I have gotten a message from a new/less active members. In their message they state they have the rsx-5 and to contact them via email for pictures. Is this common practice, or could this be a possible scam? The message I got last night is from a user that seemingly created the account yesterday to contact me about the rsx-5... He states he has the 4 i seek...
  10. Looks like a tv I would be glad to have. I originally was against plasma because of the horrible image burn and dull color I had seen on display models. I have talked to a few and read online ratings, and plasma seems to be the preferred tech (at least until they perfect OLED technology). I would consider a plasma tv for my downstairs theatre if I could get one for a decent price. It may not be important now, but had my eyes set on the 4k TVs since technology could very well head that direction in coming years. Are you located somewhere that is within a fair distance to lincoln nebraska? If the picture is still fairly crisp I would have no problem getting a plasma... For the time being.
  11. Yea, just let me know though... I need an rsw-15 to rattle my neighbors teeth lol
  12. Nvm you state maple, i remember seeing pics, beautiful sub
  13. Hey youthman, if you decide to sell the rsw-15 let me know. I have an uncle in Tampa that I could have pick it up and sit on it till I can grab it. This is my most desired piece right now.
  14. My condolences, I can personally attest to the canon t3i. I have a t2i, and with a simple photo editing program like Lightroom, you can take some amazing professional level photos that will have walmart photo techs asking for a copyright release. I would love to help, but I really want to find some decent equipment to power my speakers that I bought 2 months ago. My priority is there, but wish you luck in this difficult time for you.
  15. Would it be better to go this emotiva route with my rf-7 7.1 setup or should I stick with the denon x4000? I know this amp is only 5 channels so I would need to do something with my last 2 channels.
  16. I wish I could get them too... Those are MASSIVE! Am I correct in interpreting the "P" in KP stands for the professional line? Man i wish I could follow scrappy into the pro mode! Jealous!
  17. Nice, i just wished klipsch was currently making reference level subs. The current sub may be a solid performer.... It just doesn't look as nice without that gorgeous golden woofer.
  18. I would totally grab one at that price, but I'm really hoping to snag an rsw-15 before I look for another sub
  19. I wish the good fellows here could hook me up with some rsx-5 speakers... Ah well
  20. i only try to help others not make the same "mistakes" i did by overpaying and give as much advice as i can on all the speakers i have heard. same as youth. i like to hear em all that way i have an arsenal of knowledge for the curious ones Is it really possible to overpay for a great quality klipsch? Retail seems a fair price for their quality... Overpaying would be going the bose route. Btw, my wife's uncle is an adamant bose believer. When I showed him last night what 2 little klipsch sattelites sounded like, he told me to find a pair for him... BEHOLD THE POWER OF KLIPSCH!!! Converting the world, one believer at a time.
  21. Wow, that's a lot of CDs. I wish I had some extra $$ sitting around. I am pretty open with my music tastes (except for country and rap). Everything else has many aspects that I enjoy. I cant even imagine what a collection of 1800 CDs looks like. I love jazz!
