  1. i am currently running a ksw-15, and 2 rw12d's. while i like the sound now, they take up a whole lot of room. the 15 really is carrying 90 percent of the weight. id like to sell all of them, hopefully i can get upwards of 700 for all 3 subs. what recomendations do yall have for my rf7 system? room is 12x20x8 i sit about 10 feet from the speakers.
  2. http://shoals.craigslist.org/ele/4500373687.html just ran across this. a good laugh!
  3. let me know when you are willing to ship!!
  4. Take a drive, come pick them up.... go from Porn_Star to Horn_Star haha! there is no way i have the room for all that! id have to get rid of these scalas first and ship for sure! unless you want some pretty scalas?!
  5. holy crap i want them! but i just bought some la scalas, you wouldnt do a cross shipping would you??
  6. man, that is pretty! id like to make these myself.
  7. i have been gone for a bit, and dont have a whole lot of time to read this, till later tonight, but i listen to all kinds of music! country, new and old, techno, some rap, some rock, i like my music pretty loud and heavy on the bass. i do not mind working with live circuts. i work with 480 on a daily basis, the drop coming into my machines at work is rated at 1600 amps. i have a fluke 123 oscope, all kinds of amp clamps, multimeters, one thing i dont have is a function generator. ill read all of this in a few hours and get back to more detailed questions. thanks all!!
  8. Oh I understand the crap in crap out. That shows well with my rf7iis, I guess I am just hyped up more than maybe I should be. We will see once I get some lossless on them.
  9. So I just picked up the la scalas and they demonstrated them from an ipod. So far I am not very impressed.
  10. how much power do i need to drive a la scala? i am picking the la scalas up today, and while they come with an amp, id like to go tube. edit** holy crap they are still expensive! what makes them so high?!
  11. how hard would it be to copy an old tube amp design? from the pictures i have seen they seem rather basic and i feel that i could order the modern parts and copycat build one. (not saying i could design one by any means) has anyone attempted this at all?
  12. i like all kinds of bass, typically the chest thumping serious bass, but have an appriciation for bass that is clear and well defined. back when i was in car audio i had 4 15 inch L7s and 2 5000 watt amps. dual 200 amp alternators. i still miss that old truck. how much do you think i could get for the existing amp?
  13. thank you all for the feedback, i am guessing that the voice coil wire is broken going through the spider. i may try and get the sub fixed, as i have blown my speaker budget for a while now. what do you all recommend on the amp? i really dig lows, so if that amp puts out heavy on the low frequencies that i fine with me. these are my first set of the heritage lineup. i really love the way the belles look, and i am sure they sound equally as amazing. i recently bought my first house, so i have many projects started. one of which is to outfit my bedroom and the guest bedroom with a nice tv and sound system while trying to be energy efficient. tube amps, what should i look for, and what should i avoid? i am thinking i may set myself a 300 dollar limit. or should i wait it out till i can get something better?
  14. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=331245671264&globalID=EBAY-US&alt=web Yep these are mine, or at least will be when I pick em up this week. What do yall think of this amp?
  15. well i broke down and got a whole hog, ill post pics here and there! may have to post em later but just know they are coming!
  16. yes i am using lossless, what i have figured out so far is not that there is any difference in sound quality, it seems that when full sound spectrum is sent to my front speakers, at high volumes, the crossover cant seperate and the horn distorts when bass is applied, that or the computer distorts it somehow. when i use a software crossover in the speaker preferences, then the sound is great at high volumes, but i am pretty much not using the 10s on the rf7s. id really like to see the 10s being fully utilized. i hope this helps yall out somewhat, i do love music and what not, but i just dont know as much as the majority of you guys. the 5.1 statement, using a bluray rip or what not, all speakers are being used. it sounds pretty amazing. but music seems to only run on the fronts and sub. it also sounds like crap at high volumes. is there anyone near clarksville or nashville tn that could come out??
  17. ok, so this is what I have come up with. through spdif it seems to run through a crossover before hitting my hk 1710, the crossover is untouched on my receiver, and the internal crossover in the rf7ii seems to do a great job of separating this signal. on the other hand, though hdmi it sends raw full spectrum sound to my receiver, it amps it up, and sends it to the rf7ii, the internal crossover then bugs out because it cant handle this much bass, (song is bass I love you) and sounds like overall crap at higher volumes. my next question is this, will the dean crossover do a better job of separating the highs and lows? because I enjoy the added bass and being able to see those 10s actually move together. to be honest I like the sound a little better at lower volume as well. but it is rare for me to listen to music at low levels.
  18. you kinda made me cry a little.
  19. http://nashville.craigslist.org/ele/4541207941.html there she is, might do some trading, maybe even for non speaker related items. tim
