Rare and elite amplifier these do not come around on the merry go round very often grab this one while you can! Aragon 8008BB Dual Mono Two-Channel 400W RMS Power Amplifier I will rate this amp a 10 Super clean and runs perfect Price $1300.00 The amp weighs 67 pounds before packing. so it will push 80 plus pounds with packing. I have a lot of experience packing audio equipment. It will be packed as if I were sending it to myself. Shipping through Fed Ex is $98.00. So if you want it shipped you are looking at $1400.00 The back side is as clean as the rest of the unit, I guarantee. It is hooked up and I did not want to unhook for photos. But its is beautiful Detailed description The 8008BB delivers all the power your AC line can provide. This places it in a very rare and elite group of amplifiers. It is capable of converting, to the most refined amplification, the entire 15 amps and 120 volts of your standard AC power line. Wattage specifications do not determine how well an amplifier can power and control a real loudspeaker. Unlike test loads used to measure amplifier power, loudspeakers vary in impedance and inductance. Since amplifiers need to have a power rating, we very conservatively rate the 8008BB at 200 watts of continuous power per channel. The notch carved into the top of the chassis ensures that the heat generated by all this power will be properly dissipated even if a shelf or another component is placed on top of the amplifier. The 8008BB is actually two separate mono block amplifiers contained within a single chassis. Each monoblock powers its respective channel with an individual 1,100va toroidal transformer. The 8008BB has twice the rectification and twice the storage capacitance of the 8008ST. In other words, each monoblock contained within the chassis has as much rectification and capacitance as the 8008ST's entire power supply. Along with the larger power supply, the 8008BB has two different inputs-single-ended and balanced. Both of these inputs are fully discrete Class A. The matched output stage transistors are increased by 50%. These additional transistors assist in maintaining linearity during low impedance operation. Specifications FREQUENCY RESPONSE 5Hz-20kHz POWER OUPUT 8 200-watts by two-channels POWER OUTPUT 4 400-watts by two-channels THD 0.04% S/N RATIO >110dB A Weighted DAMPING FACTOR >500 INPUT SENSITIVITY 120 mV for 1 watt output, 1.68V for full output INPUT IMPEDANCE 44 kohms balanced, 22 kohms single-ended VOLTAGE GAIN 28dB ANALOG AUDIO INPUTS 2 BUILT FROM 1995
  3. Yes I have the originals & and yes there are rebuild kits available for them. They are for sale. You are correct in your last statement, a lot of people want all original ( purist ) but upgrades like the woofers I used can make an enormous difference in the quality of sound produced.
  4. More pictures coming today . I have someone coming over soon to pick up some gear. Thanks Dean I wish everyone the very best. Got some great gear coming up.

I am asking $4500 to members of the forum. might negotiate a little. They will need to be picked up. Sonically they are a 10, Cosmetically they are a 9+, only because the grill s have some fuzz balls and you may want to put new cloth on them. The cabinets are outstanding. They have consecutive numbers. Call with any questions. They have recently up graded with new woofers. The woofers have been upgraded and are JBL's latest technology and are rated at 600 watts with a max of 1200 watts. They are designed for 8 ohm or 16 ohm. The JBL 2226 h woofers are more efficient ( 97 db 1 watt/1 meter) than the original 136 a woofers ( 93 db 1 watt/ 1 meter ) and will cruse with amps that have less power. The bass is more defined with a stronger punch with the new woofers. I
  6. You my friend are correct. I thank you for the backup. And yes this place does periodically become a battlefield. Have a wonderful day and enjoy your music.
  7. Money, Space, I cant keep everything. Its all just stuff. My little hobby / addiction, ( audio ) is a time consuming thing to be involved in and although I love it. There is a big world out there and fishing poles are gathering dust. Almost forgot I really like my Khorns. You my friend were not getting personal with your question. I am an open book.
  8. We all have different personalities, different opinions, different ways of looking at things. This is natural. What I personally find amusing is people get on these sites and if they disagree on something often it becomes nasty. ( what do you mean you like mustard over ketchup on your sandwich ), Why you must be crazy, so and so on ). We comment often on what equipment sounds better. I stand guilty myself. I have over the years having bought so much equipment ( looking for that elusive nirvana ) and I am guilty of still doing this. Just bought a fantastic pair of JBL 4430's. Their sound blows me away. But I am putting them up for sale. Back to the point. If this person wants to advertise wherever he wants so be it. Why let the conservation go to the point where we are discussing the morality or way he chooses to market his product. LIVE AND LET LIVE BRUDDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. This much I can tell you, with a dozen heaters in the room, me personally, I would enjoy a nice cool bath.
  10. I cant count the number of mistakes I have made with my purchases. Time, money, travel. I think they call that C'est la vie
  11. Them Sony's make me cry PA. Don't take my word for it but I think that's what Charlene Darling use to say.
  12. Sony you have got to be kidding me. Who would want a Sony str gx-9es in their system. I am just dumbfounded. Wait a minute I own one Sony str gx-9es and seven Sony str gx-10es recievers. YUP 7 of them. and I will buy every one I can get my hands on if it is in good shape. Those two models are so underrated it is unbelievable. Anyone on the forum have one for sale, please let me know. I sell quite a bit of Mac gear among other brands. The Sony STR GX 10es is rated at 150 watts per channel, all the other specs you can find on line. I will proudly put up th gx 10es against any receiver, amp , what ever. All I am saying is the proof is in the pudding. I have sold many pieces of very nice gear, and when the people see the Sony's sitting there they ask "Wot's... Uh the Deal , wait a minute that's a old Pink Floyd song. Then I let them listen to one of the Sony's and watch their jaw hit the floor. Seriously everyone, The Sony str gx-10es recievers are not getting the respect they should command. Sell me yours Please. I even consider some trading, I have quite a bit of really nice goodies.
  13. I would think Best buy would handle the problem for you.
  14. Jason, I have talked with several people today & they say the same as you. I did not have them cranked up loud enough to blow them. And then there is the question of the third woofer that I know played perfect until I placed it in one of the jbls. I was just wondering if there could be something in the speaker components causing the problem. I have already ordered replacement woofers. I will see what happens. I am a big klipsch fan and own Bellles, Cornwalls, La Scalas, & Khorns. I occasionally buy other high end speakers so I can hear and compare the sound. When I bought the JBLs they had an incredible sound while I was auditioning them. Then I get them home and POP POP POP POP, almost forgot the SNAP CRACKLE. I thank you for your comment. I have been wanting a pair of JBL l300s for some time now and I waited until I found a pair close enough for me to travel and get them. I am sure I will get them back on their feet and enjoy them.
  15. Dont have a volt meter. All three speakers now sound like garbage at any level.
  16. I know I am in the garage sale spot. I need opinions ( advice ). Just picked up a pair of JBL Summit L 300s. I listened to them before buying and they sounded fantastic even at concert levels. I drive home , hook them up, all connections are 100% correct. Low volumes the sound fine, a song comes on and I turn it up. Not as loud as when I was listening to them before I bought them. Out of nowhere I hear the left speaker pop, ( loud, ) I immediately turn it down, start the song over, turn it up and the pop is back. I disconect the speaker and listen to the right side, the pop appears. I then hooked it up to a different system and the pop is in both speakers. I then hook up different speakers and crank it up and no problems. I hook up a third set and no problems. I pull the subwoofer out of one of the JBLS and replace it with a spare that i have, within 10 to 15 seconds there it is the pop. so now I have 3 woffers that need to be rebuilt. I know All connections are correct and I was not clipping any of the equipment. Any ideals, anyone
  17. The Heavens are filling up. Life is too short. I had two family members pass in the last two weeks. One was expected and the other was a very freak accident. He lived out in the country and was driving a farm tractor down the road, a 16 year old girl crossed the line and hit him head on. When the accident happened I had just hooked up and was enjoying a new set of speakers I had purchased. I go to my music room now and every time I see the speakers, I am reminded of the accident. You have got to wonder how long will that last. I have said it before and I will say it again, Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you as often as possible.
  18. Strange indeed. yesterday my wife & I were returning home from working out of town. It was a 10 hour drive. We listened to about 6 hours of ELP music. And wake up this morning to this.
  19. Some years back before personal computers became popular, & we got our news from the television, radio and newspapers, it was at this time I choose to listen to music rather than watch, hear, or read the news. I would listen to vinyl when not working. I'm talking back in the 1970s. I choose this because, music was my escape at the end of the day. Its not that I did not hear of the worlds problems and current events, its just I choose music as my get away from the crazy world we were living in. Now all these years later, the artist I used to listen to, hours on end are passing on. It has come to the point when I hear music from the passed on artist my pleasure from the past has become sad to the point of tears. It honestly makes me not want to listen anymore. But wait a moment, we still have the BEEBS and alike. To Mr Lake and all the others gone his way, from the bottom of my heart I hope God is blessing you all. As for the rest of us, give someone a big hug and kiss and let them know how much you love them.
  20. Odd how things work, Temptation for example. I do a lot of work in Montgomery on the military bases. And Jimi Hendrix through these speakers make you feel like your on another planet, as for your wife just tell her you got them for her Christmas present. You may have to sleep in the living room on the couch for a while but at least you will be where the speakers are. All BS aside, enjoy your life, wife, music & all around you. Best wishes to both of you.
  21. I have a pair of cornwalls and a pair of La Scalca that I am putting up for sale. The cornwalls have new crossovers in them. Both pair look very nice. and sound great. They are both walnut. I will take $1200.00 for either pair. I live in Alabama about 30 minutes from Mobile, just off I-10. I am headed out of town today for work but will return next Thursday. Ph Two51 Two13 One388
  22. jimjimbo I have been on the ride for many years. Funny you mentioned Pioneer sx-950, a friend of mine has one straight out of the shop. I think I will jump on it I have been listening to music since the hippie days. I have already taken the ride. Remember Hunter S Thompson, Buy the ticket take the ride, each time the ticket gets more expensive and the ride gets less exciting. I guess I be buying the tickets the rest of my life, in search for the excitement. Thanks for your comments
