  1. Well hell, I have 12 personalities as it is, so I guess I'm out of the bag. Only problem with me is some of my personalities don't speak English, they speak Spanish and when I have an argument in my head, can't understand half the stuff they say.
  2. That is funny Jeff Matthews - not once in my life have I met a dog named "Matthew". For some odd reason, I like it yOU SHOULD NAME YOUR NEXT DOG DIOGEE
  3. A-B-S-O-L-U-T-L-Y!!!!! Roger you missed an E
  4. They don't have any 14-16 year old's working for them yet. They outlawed that practice a while back.
  5. As long as we can call you "Dick" for short
  6. Well I do have my large Italian restaurant sized wooden spoon used for sauce making and I have to agree. Someone starts bashing and calling another a name isn't right. But let someone say something about a builder(s) lack of knowledge and the gloves come off, or a name change comes in from someone who used to be someone else and how is it not different? Even if the person name calling is calling someone else a name I may have had an issue with, I don't agree on it. PM about it with the other peers. If Mark Dineen is Mdineen that I remember, there were a few instances where things were said back and forth I didn't agree on,but I never reverted to name calling. Even if he did say I wasn't educated, lol. There is a certain builder on here I didn't have a good transaction with, but I didn't revert to name calling either. I don't agree with how they did things, but that was left off the table and not posted here.
  7. Coming soon to a city near you. http://nypost.com/2016/02/22/new-bill-could-give-illegal-aliens-voting-rights-in-new-york-city/
  8. Disgusting. I don't know why we can't make one nice clean sweep of all the trash and be done with it, do you? Alex Jones has had some mighty interesting things to say about this, and has The Savage Man! Thank the powers that be in Washington.
  9. That's a great attitude. LOL, It only took me 46.9 years to learn that.
  10. Can you provide a link for the study? I have no idea if there is a link. It was published a few months ago. Shouldn't be too hard to find, I suspect. I don't see a link either, but I do have to agree, we do have this happening everyday. It's getting worse daily. And being on the east coast we are bum rushed with the BS daily. NYC now wants to make it legal for illegal aliens and undocumented immigrants, which are still illegals to vote in the upcoming elections. We just had an arrest yesterday in Ocean County (Waretown) where the perp was arrested for having an outstanding warrant. He gets pulled over, no plates, no ID, no SS#, no insurance, no registration, has a deportation warrant out for him. Cop calls it in, desk calls ICE, ICE turns and says we aren't coming to get him, release him. Desk turns around and says to cop release him. Cop says to perp, you're free to go. Tells him to call someone with a valid license to come and drive him back home. No impounding of the car, no tickets, nothing. Why? But let you or me do this, and we are in jail, out on bail, tickets, car impounded, court dates, and license suspension. How's that work? Sounds like principals being enforced to me. Is the will of the people here being neglected when we have to abide by rules, but illegals don't?
  11. I hear what you're saying but if you don't go down any of those rabbit holes and just choose to not participate in threads where those things are taking place, then it's all good. My experience here is 100% positive and has been since I've joined. I try and help people where I can, get loads of help from others enjoy a lot of humor and try to inject some myself along the way. I don't feel that there's anyone on the forum that has any ill will against me and nobody that I have any distaste for either. Stick around Jim, and just swim away from the drain. I've gotten somewhat better about those rabbit holes, but every once in awhile...........
  12. Normally the reason people get "booted" is not shared on the open forum. What you read will very seldom give you the entire picture of what actually is going on. That's true, but there is a build up in order to get to that point, and it takes 2 to get the build up. I have had my issue on here with one or two, and have also ironed things out with some and have come to respect their opinions. At the same time if something is going on behind closed doors, shouldn't it stay there? We are not all going to be in agreement with each other, some of us may not like each other, but if other members constantly "call out" someone for a name change or an IP address it should be squashed immediately. I don't know what goes on behind closed doors on how Klipsch and the moderators run things, and I really don't want to know. But if jo56steph74 has had name changes it doesn't affect me. I have no issue with that. If thesloth, xxjpmxx changes his name or got booted for something it has no effect on me. No one on here has an effect on me or what I do in my daily life, so I take with a grain of salt any ill commented words towards me or another member. I understand the need for rules, and for everyone to get along, but if it's not disruptive, let them be whoever they want to be. Who cares if they rub someone the wrong way. I've had members on here post how I'm only posting to make myself feel relevant and I just laugh. If a member has to post that, that's their issue, not mine. I've had members complain they felt slighted because I called myself white trash. Aren't we all adults and isn't it up to us to get over ourselves? Again, just my opinion.
  13. Maybe what we need to do is have a child as president for their ideas, and have implementation done with technology. What child is a racist? What child shows hate towards another child? What child doesn't think we are all "equal" in most ways? What child values money? I know as a child I always thought why can't everyone just get along and help each other? Why do we need money if we all come together and help each other with everyday needs?
  14. I for one could care less how many name changes someone has, or how many different times a person comes onto the forum after being booted. I see people getting booted because they "strike out against another member", but all I see on here are several cliques that watch each others backs, and those same cliques can say/do what they want without repercussion. The people getting booted say something towards another member, and that member gets protected, but in the same token also lashes out with nothing happening, or that member is the one who initially lashed out. Seems childish to me. I can say one thing, I have been getting real bored with the forum lately as it has gone from talking about equipment and has gone to other things, the same things members complain about not wanting to see, but then posting something similar. I came here to get an education on equipment, and aside from the 4-5 people who have taught me things, haven't been pleased with things. I know the "bashing" of if you don't like it leave will follow, but these are my opinions on things on here. I just don't see many new people on here anymore, or people that stay here for long after posting something for sale,or trying to find out pricing on something. On the positive side of things, I have learned about speaker placement, crossovers, tube amps, wiring, how to stuff, and why about certain things. And that I am thankful for. But the constant bashing of others, not so much. If you don't like someone take it to PM. If that person rubs you the wrong way, ignore their posts. But be consistent when barring people or berating them and not letting them fight back. Make sure then other person also gets the same treatment. And I am not talking about 1 individual here, if several people on here have changed their names,or IP addresses it's for a reason. It takes 2 to have an issue.
  15. They are already experimenting with this idea at several companies where employees have chips put into their wrists as a "key" to punch in/out, make copies, etc.
  16. The mother of one of the victims actually spoke out and said Apple is correct, it should stay locked. I'm on both sides of the fence as it's easy for me to be. I don't think we should lose our so called "rights to privacy" as they have been long taken away from us, but on face value, if a terrorist has done something already, then we should be able to access the information. I know it's a double edged sword and isn't really a realistic way, but that's my thought on it. Until you've done something to get those rights taken away, you should have them.
  17. Max2, I respect your opinion but cannot comprehend your willingness to allow the government absolute power...which is really what you seem to be saying. How did it come to be that people believe that the government has ANY rights to you unless you commit a crime? This is incomprehensible to me. Today I would fear what was once common and given no thought...refusing to identify myself to an officer without reason, or wanting to search my car. Did both back in the last days of freedom, but would fear now and don't know whether I'd surrender the last vestiges of an illusion of living in a free country or just cave in. Dave Im from the South which you all can stereo type and I would probably hit on all the guessed keys. I don't like to see privacy and infringement going on. However, I can see the inevitable and its going to be more disclosure. What do yo think Freedom will be like in 100- 150 years with technology hurling out of control like it is? Just think how plugged in the world will be then. Just imagine for a minute. There are going to have to be DRASTIC changes in many avenues. Now think who and what regions will have the technology we have today at that 100+ year point....only hoping we are then, well, well beyond that. How is that going to happen without everyone being somewhat "transparent?" How long before GPS chips are mandatory for newborns or for children? I bet it comes well before X-cons are mandated to have them. Its all about Technology and mix it with Democracy and brother things are going to get much wilder. The country turning in to haves and have-nots is only fueling the turmoil. Desperate people with nothing to lose, brainwashed Xbox junkies massing the AK's and AR's, "Spiritual" Fanatics and few bad immigrants, well they're all coming over for a long stay if they're not already here. Everyone buckle up. I'd bet within 25 years we are there. Not even remotely close to 100 years.
  18. So I guess me changing my name to Brock Landers is going to make people think I have something to hide?
  19. Jim

    Yeah Baby

That was sick, and on an acoustic.
  20. Being it's dug up- "Why worry about 90% of the things you can't control instead of focusing on the 10% you can"
  21. I own several pair and used them in my 7.1 set up for years on a Yamaha receiver pushing 140 watts per channel, they were set up as my mains, front effects, and surrounds with no issues at all. They are now on bedroom set up duty and on a Yamaha RX-V 673 that pushes 90 wpc, and again no issues.
  22. Maynard, As per my question on bookshelves or equipment pieces: this is what I also found on the site. Book Cases Q.) I read a quick blurb in Stereophile regarding your recommendation to put bookcases against the wall parallel to speakers placed in the room. I would be interested in reading more information about this - what it does, why it works, how it works, what size bookcases, etc. -Helen A.) A standard book case works as a "wave trap". Parallel shelves about 13" apart not only make good record and book shelves, they are also at a quarter wave length of roughly 250 cycles. This is approximately the standing wave length between the speaker and the side wall, thus they provide excellent low frequency damping. If the shelves have books or records they are also an excellent diffuser. Buy "keying" the shelves into the wall structurally, you can stiffen the walls immensely. I like to make them extra deep and inset acoustic foam in the back of the shelf. I make a very special hi-density "acoustic wall paper". It is only 3/8" of an inch thick. It starts absorbing at about 300 cycles and eliminates all slap and reflection between the walls it is applied to. This combination of shelves and absorption make the best room damping combination and does it with out being obvious. The shelves in my room run across the wall behind the speakers and along the side walls to behind the listening area. They start at 10" wide on the side walls, behind the listener, and increase to 18" wide at the corner behind the speakers. They are mechanically keyed in to the walls themselves. - George
  23. Do you have pics you could post?
  24. I have the total opposite with my 4 kids. None of them used the systems I put in there for them. I have 2 boys and 2 girls and both bedrooms were set up with 5.1 and fully done up with blue ray players, avr, google chromecast, cable box, and even a record player for my 1 daughter. They have access to over 400 movies, 1400 cds, and youtube. They refuse to use the systems and use their phone or pads for everything. I even bought my 2 sons the video gamer chairs which sit off on the side collecting dust. They actually prefer to watch TV with the sound from the set.
  25. LOL, I wish I could do that. We've also cut back on beef, but when we do,it's usually Skirt steak, or Ribeye. I usually wind up getting 4 2lbers. When I do Ribeye, I eat a good 2 lber myself, sometimes more. My 11 year old does a 1 lber, one of my daughters can put away a 2 lber and my other son a good 1-1.5 lber. My other daughter doesn't eat meat. and these are bone out Ribeye. I've actually done a 4lber in the past, many many moons ago.
