  1. Thank you for the replies thus far. Especially the reply about the comparison done at Klipsch.
  2. Has anyone compared the two side by side in a listening test? I am very curious to discover listening / review opinions of the two models. I am also wondering if Klipsch has considered continuing production a Heresy version that is aligned with the Heresy III (no port, smaller box) for those that might desire the "Classic" design. In essence, they could call it the Heresy Classic. In full disclosure, I own a pair Heresy III's and love them. I have other (non Heritage) Klipsch speakers in various rooms in the house as well. I was considering purchasing an (additional) pair of Heresy's when the Heresy IV emerged; so, I am curious what people think in comparative terms. Buck
  3. I have never heard a McIntosh amp (tube or SS) that failed to shine driving Klipsch speakers. Buck
  4. I am bringing up this old, and somewhat recently rebooted thread, so that the new Heresy IV can be included. I am curious how those listening to the new Heresy IV compare and contrast it with prior versions. Especially, now that the Heresy IV has a port and a taller box dimension, as this marks a major transition away from the first versions physical anatomy. I have H III and I really enjoy them but am considering getting the IV, while keeping my H III for alternate use.
  5. I have Heresy III with a Marantz 2238. Not quite what you are asking about but I think the Heresy "recipe" works well with a lot of classic amplifiers. It is such a great speaker no matter which version......IMO
  6. I would bet that Klipsch does have the parts but they only go to into authorised repairs and are not sold to individuals. Possibly a Klipsch dealer can get the part? Perhaps a clarifying conversation with someone "higher up" at Klipsch? My post is speculative...... Added Edit....just read Chad's post after posting paragraph above.
  7. Duh! I missed that somehow. Makes perfect sense. Thank you!
  8. Contact Gregg Levy at High Test. He may not have it listed on his site but I would bet he has one. And it will be a good specimen. No affiliation except that I have purchased many tubes from him over a few years. http://www.hitestguitars.com/preamp-tubes.htm
  9. To the OP, just curious why you were not interested in Heresy III?
  10. Who is Amy? I see her mentioned on the forum alot. Forgive me as I am new here.Sorry for double post.

  12. To clarify my opinion. I think some people can discern "different sonic characteristics" between certain cables. If you are one of those people, only you can decide which cable sounds best to you. When there are so many opinions it may be better to consider trusting your own ears....to get the best solution for you.
  13. buckaroo, Your "Physics" argument is the exact same one I used on the wife when I bought my first pair of Klipschorns and later moved up to my Klipsch TSCMs.... Bigger and Heavier = harder to steal! Roger I like it
  14. I am in the midwest. About a days drive from Hope. When is this event?
  15. I just started using Blue Jeans RCA stereo pair. I bought mine on Amazon. Very robust cable. Heavier weight than I anticipated. I can't say that I am able to appreciate a huge difference in sound quality from my prior cables (Hosa) but these will last forever. If anything, I would say they are pretty neutral sounding. Transparent sonically.
  16. I chose Heresy III because I liked the sound that they produce but also for space and weight concerns (easier to physically move them). Thanks for the info. I have been listening to Klipsch speakers since the late 1980's but my first new pair were the KG 2.2 circa 1993. The first pair that I ever heard was La Scala. I was hooked after that experience.
  17. My other passions are Tweed amps, guitars and old vacuum tubes:
  18. The pair of Heresy III pumping out some classic Jazz. I love Grant Green, Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell. But I listen to a lot of different kinds music.
  19. Click on "more reply options" on lower right when posting. Browse and upload from there. Thanks! That seemed to do it. You will see above some lo fi phone pix. Buckaroo name comes from love of Buck Owens. I am unaware of Frazier speakers....to answer the previous poster.
  20. My new Marantz PM 8005 and Rega RP3 TT with Exact cartridge. The blue lights on the new Marantz kind of pay homage to the old 2238 above. At least in my mind.
  21. One of my pair of new Klipsch Heresy III speakers. Just got them.
  22. Marantz 2238 I purchased new in the 1970's. Works perfect. Stays covered when not in use. It lives in my basement right now and is kept company by a pair of Klipsch KG 2.2 I purchased new circa 1993. Both are all original except for replacement lamps in the Marantz. Even the original Monster "made in USA" speaker cables.
