  1. My thoughts and condolences to the family... I know it's hard...
  2. Thanks to you all- our wonderful forum family for remembering him today and everyday. I miss my Dad greatly, but know someday we will see him again. Wish you were here, Dad.
  3. I have seen this line-up. Last year. It was a great show. I was very impressed with Steve Lukather, and Todd Rundgren. I think the All-Starr Band is a great idea. For years it has given very talented musicians the opportunity to play on stage again, when they would probably never be able to fill houses or large venues on their own. There were lots of young fans at the one I went to- maybe the casino venue helped. Most enjoyable!
  4. At least go with ambiguous music- I think Kohl's used ELO's Strange Magic for a holiday pre-commercial. I immediately thought "Xanadu" as that was the last show I had directed.
  5. Furthermore, once Friday, Nov. 27 is here...I am starting out with A Rock 'N' Roll Christmas. Always gets my holiday spirit moving. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
  6. I agree. Can't we just have our Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas separately? I hate the notion of the rush. When I worked in radio, it sickened me to know that Christmas music was on the radio pre-Thanksgiving. I try very hard to wait, but, the media and retail pushes it so early. I love Christmas music, and the tree, etc. etc. But, I will wait until Friday morning to get my Christmas vibe. Sirius started Holly on Nov. 7. TOO. DAMN. EARLY.
  7. Survey taken! Hope that helps! I know the struggle of not getting enough folks to take a survey for a class.
  8. We are losing the greats everyday... Recently thought of my Dad when Lesley Gore died. He always liked her.
  9. I am going to watch this! I have been surprised over the years to see what contributions the Wrecking Crew has made to recordings. Thanks!!!
  10. What is the best commercial (on the air right now) that uses a classic song? Is it creative? Or just funny...?? I welcome your thoughts... I like Ride Away by Roy Orbison- the Geico commercial.
  11. In no particular order... 1. The Beatles 2. Paul McCartney (predictable...yes, I know) 3. ELO 4. Chicago or Steely Dan...its a toss up.... 5. Pink Floyd But, I think it changes depending on my mood...

    RIP Boxx...

My thoughts...?? DAMN...that was HOT! HAHAHA.... The hottest thing I have ever eaten, but, you know what? It was even HOTTER later after I went to bed. Woke up with "pepper sweats." But, if it gives me spunk, I will take it! I imagine Dad's having a swell time in Heaven setting up his Klipsch system.

    RIP Boxx...

No, it was not uncomfortable! It was a great pleasure to be around such caring, and wonderful people. We are already planning our trip to Hope for next year. I hope that represents how much fun we had this time, and enjoyed visiting and meeting you all! Yes, trying the pepper was crazy, but, fun! Life is too short sometimes, and after all this, I have realized that... Thanks to all for honoring and remembering Boxx. He was truly a class act, and the most interesting man I know.

    RIP Boxx...

Thank you Dennie for remembering my Dad today, and everyday. I know he lives on here in the Forum.
  16. I think it depends on two things: 1. Performer on the bill 2. The local cliente I have had nothing but nice, courteous people at the Paul McCartney concerts, and Ringo concerts I have been too. Last year when Boxx and I saw Chicago/REO Speedwagon it was also nice. No rude folks, just courteous people who were there for the music. But, pair REO with Styx (who I also love), and Ted Nugent, and those same fans became incredibly rude pushing you out of the front of your seat, while standing, and asking for more "dancing room." REALLY?! So, I still my hands on my hips so they stay away from me. The seat that I pay for is arm rest to arm rest. But, who asks you to move so they can have more dancing room? I think that request is a bit crazy. But...thats just me.
  17. R.I.P. Chris Squire. Celebrating Yes again this week...
  18. Thanks...deep dish Pizza tonight- Chicago style at a new place nearby, Vegas next week.... 32 looks good.
  19. We are losing too many of the greats too quickly...
  20. Music on my Klipsch headphones. Unwinding after a long day.
  21. What a great day...stood in line for 5 hours to get the goodies I wanted. 1. Syd Barrett/R.E.M. Dark Globe 2. Jimi Hendrix at Atlanta Pop Fest 3. The Family Way Soundtrack 4. Rocky Horror Picture Show EP "Time Warp" Only missed out on Bernard Herrman's Psycho 45. Oh well...
  22. Great time! Enjoyed the food, fellowship, the music, and enjoyed talking about the experiences and conversations you all had with BOXX on the forum. Can't wait 'til next year!!
  23. No, actually its "elote" a mexican street corn style cold salad with lime, queso fresco, cilantro, and hot sauce. It's so good.
  24. Our "not so meager" offerings this Easter. Slow cooked brisket, elote, roasted potatoes and carrots with garlic and spring onion, the requisite deviled eggs, and fresh herb salad with beets and tomatoes. Dessert (not pictured) was a light Angel Food Cake with crushed pineapples (baked inside) and whipped cream. Thanks to Mrs. Boxx for making this Easter meal fabulous. We make a great team.
  25. It's where you go to a record store, they ask you what kind of turntable you have, and then they charge you for records based on the make and model of your turntable. Take lots of money..... Very funny!
