    Gravity in Space

You have to contact their World... errr... Galactic Headquarters for that info. Actually it just went up on (Elon Musk's) Space-X Dragon Cargo flight on April 14. I wonder if NASA uses PayPal?

    Gravity in Space

Here's a few extra pic's... including an actual photo of "Gravity" movie night from Astronaut Scott Kelly. The screen is based on the product "Slate" from SI: http://www.screeninnovations.com/materials/ambient-materials/slate/ It rejects 65% of ambient light, so it can be effectively used in bright or light conditions.

    Gravity in Space

Especially after learning of a Russian cargo vessel currently tumbling wildy in the wrong orbit... & waiting for it to plunge and burn as it reenters the atmosphere between May 5th to 7th. Better set your watch for 90 mins....

    Gravity in Space

I guess we're not the only ones always looking for the next upgrade. The International Space Station just received a one-of-a-kind quick deploy 65" portable antigravity screen. The picture remains ultra-bright due to an ambient-light rejection projection system, complete with a 1080p commercial HD laser-light projector. Both new arrivals make for a great upgrade from their typical 13" laptop screens. Astronauts can spend 6+ months on the ISS, so I guess it can still be considered Home Theater. Pretty cool. "Gravity" was one of the first movies on display over the weekend. No mention of what speakers are in play... but safe to say 90lb RF-7's are not part of the equation (lol). It must be a unique experience to watch Gravity 250 miles above earth. A couple of good links: http://www.screeninnovations.com/news/si-news/iss-viewscreen-the-first-screen-in-space/ http://www.space.com/29233-space-station-viewscreen-astronaut-tech.html http://www.blastr.com/2015-4-27/check-out-international-space-stations-radical-new-roll-hd-viewscreen Maybe set set of Klipsch speakers were on this ill fated flight: http://www.engadget.com/2015/04/30/iss-resupply-progress-russia-crash/
  5. Here's a good article for the OP to check out: http://www.soundandvision.com/content/crank-it-big-sound-big-picture
  6. This is always a good one to set the room to Black, tune out the world, get comfortable & enjoy the view.
  7. That was a good read & nice to see a shout out to his memory of the RF-7. A couple notable things stood out. * The size of the original RF-7 wasn't "wife friendly". * Yet, he placed the larger RF-7 ll's... 6-feet from the back wall. How wife friendly is that? (or real world practical) * He found that even his 230Wpc bridged Burson was found lacking (when pushing) compared to bridged Hegel H30 @ 1100Wpc * No mention if "Rammstein" was wife friendly (lol)
  8. lotta words i don't know but i didn't like this movie very much. lol It was kinda like a Rice Cake. Sure I'll try one. But not quite sure what (or if) I was tasting anything & not sure I was fulfilled after eating it.
  9. Great choice. I always enjoyed "9". It was originally a Short Film that resulted into this full fledged theatrical release. I'll have to break it out again this week.
  10. Conceptual. Abstract. Esoteric. Austere.
  11. Outstanding idea & build. I'm jealous. Great job. I hope the end result performs well. Lloyd Dobler approved.
  12. Looks great! I've always had my center under the TV on a rack (with the RC-7 tilted up on the front).
  13. Still early, despite having the AVR since last September. The only Atmos authored Blu-ray title back then was Transformers AoE & it does have an impact with helicopters, fighter jets & all the non-stop audio from the upper sound stage. It's a good-over-the-top experience at home. There's still only a handful of titles to choose from Expendables 3, Hunger Games 3, Exodus, John Wick, Gravity (re-issue), etc., and the Atmos mix is noticeably different than the DTS-HD mix. "Upconverting" non-Atmos titles with the alternative Neo:X Height & A-DSX Height modes have been hit or miss. That route is lack-luster by comparison. I've played with various upward firing "front height" options & right now I'm actually using a pair of Def-Tech Pro Cinema 100's on top of my RF-7's (pointed/angled toward the ceiling). They work surprisingly well & are far less awkward than sitting my RB-35's up there. Currently I have 7 channels in play... I'll need to add 2 more channels to incorporate a set of "rear heights" to my set up. I have a plan & making my list for upgrades once the Klipsch add-on modules come out. Then I can add a pair of "rear heights" to the mix & that should complete my 5.2.4 set up. Really looking forward to hearing that. - - - With Man of Steel, I enjoyed the "origin" story from Snyder. But it wasn't dark & gritty like Nolan's Batman, it wasn't over the top non-stop energy like Iron Man or The Avengers. It fell somewhere in the middle. I really enjoyed 300 & Sucker Punch from Snyder, I guess I was expecting more with Man of Steel. I can't really buy Affleck in the role, so the sequel is tough to digest at the moment.
  14. This is a pretty interesting take on Zak Snyder's first attempt with Superman. While somewhat enjoyable, "The Man of Steel" never really resonated with me. I have to say... after watching the video, I might have enjoyed VideoLab's version better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Du-eYiD9OfM
  15. Haaa... One of my many hobbies. Movies & TV shows... I'm always checking out & freeze framing the watch scenes. Its kinda like Pavlov's Dog.
  16. he called the $ hit poop! (NameThat movie)??
  17. Where did you find it? I grabbed it in January from eBay....I think I paid $12 bucks. I was looking for some Atmos demo's (didn't find any) so I picked up this. The included Music Tracks are very crisp & full bodied.
  18. Great space, looks excellent... & probably sounds even better. Breitling another expensive hobby. (lol) Good job with the pics.
  19. This was kind of fun. The 7 tracks were really engineered well. See if you can pick one up, I've enjoyed listening to it. The DTS-X Tracks really wake up the room.
  20. "Not that I mind a slight case of abduction now and then, but I have tickets for the theatre this evening, to a show I was looking forward to and I get..... well, kind of unreasonable about things like that."
  21. Yeah I would agree! I have it on DVD & HD-DVD as well (lol). Always loved this footage... grain & all.
  22. Interesting idea... Large Format Printing on canvas would be cool. But, Marvel has it right, much smaller scale....Computer/Tablet Wallpaper. Here's a few Vertical Phone options (attached):
