  1. Yes, but it makes up for the crazy days. yes it does. We will prop you up so you can't fall over, here have a shot or two between. - yeah, sounds vaguely familiar. like we did that to some of our so called friends back in college. or had that done to us. and then have someone walk up, hand us another drink & say something like "here. hold my beer/drink/whatever..." or "here, you look like you need another one of these..." ugh... what I remember, I'll never forget.
  2. and I'm sure I "weigh in" in the lightweight division. I might not find the bottom of more than 1 or 2. mistaking me for Richie Cunningham is not very likely - 72 of those itty bitty glasses
  3. can you tell that it's a slow day at the office, and that I'm bored?
  4. if I make it to 6, someone sit me in a corner so I don't fall down & hurt myself. side effect - maybe it will also reduce chances I will get in more trouble than I'm already in.
  5. no, no - no joke. just a simple question. (in case you're a manager at, say, a certain wings establishment or something like that.) but still - just a question.
  6. better than being the bug. right?
  7. Don @Bonobo - maybe I'm missing it, but did you specify your location for potential buyers?
  8. oh well. don't count me out just yet ๐Ÿ˜‹
  9. you got a hot food server at your favorite dining place?
  10. thanks Bill. while I had thought a Carver Sunfire might be the end-all be-all for all HT amps, and it may still be - to find one & have it thoroughly checked out - it just felt better to save a few bux & go with the Acurus.
  11. gotcha. thanks for the ideas. the fiance is ok with adding an amp but less so about adding a sub - much less my thinking multiple subs, even though there's not much floor space for the 1st one much less the 2nd. waiting to hear back from a seller on a diff proposed purchase on an Acurus 200x3. yes I know - I seem to change horses a lot. but the proposed price on the Acurus was less than the Sunfire. don't really need more than 2 ch right now. if we add a center down the road, that's maybe a 3rd ch. the other ch available on the Sunfire wouldn't be used in the foreseeable future. so I'm leaning toward saving the coin & going with the Acurus, and we'll see how that works out. and yes, maybe down the road - we WILL get that sub. or THOSE subs ๐Ÿ™‚ don't think it's gonna be right now. but thanks for the suggestions
  12. nice. sounds like you done pretty good
  13. ain't THAT the truth!!! I can feel housing values climbing from here.
  14. may?!? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ sounds to me like you've certainly earned it today. that yard work, like your tree, really takes it out of me. don't mind doing it at all. in fact kinda like getting out & breaking a bit of a sweat. not too much, just a little ๐Ÿ˜Š
  15. I've considered it, but don't really have the room for it. I do have room in the "rack" (WAF approved entertainment ctr) for an amp so going that route.
  16. I've been thinking a while about adding an amp to my Integra AVR primarily to add low end response from my L-R Cornwalls when watching movies. (we don't currently play much 2 ch, much more movies than music.) I had a lead 1-2 days ago that didn't pan out, but found another item to replace that lead - a Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature Edition 7 ch for what seems like a really good price considering what I've seen them advertised for, and what some of the sold listings on the b a y show. I've talked with a few of you via PM & really appreciate your thoughts, feedback, suggestions & all that. missing that lead on the Carver M1.5t to run just the CW has me more ready to go ahead & get something, esp since the GF [now, wife to be :-)] is on board. (do it before she changes her mind? I don't THINK she reads the forum... at least not that I know of lol) thanks for your input. -JS

    What I Got Today!

I have become a Carver fan myself, after learning the name & doing some light reading about him. I would say a legend in amp tech, certainly a leader among others. when I was building my amp "wish list", the Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature was/still is at the top of the list for my budget. and that's a bit of a stretch. but still - set high goals, right?
  18. I use one that, let's say I inherited because it was decommissioned at the office, so I repurposed it - being enviro friendly thing to do, yanno? so it's mine now. it's a Netgear of some kind, 6 bays, I have 500 GB/bay so 3 TB. has been super solid, no complaints. had to replace 1 drive but has been solid as a rock. pretty easy to admin/setup etc too.

    What I Got Today!

nice. thanks for the recommendation. hoping to "flex" my work schedule today so I can bolt across town & co-mingle what I want to do with what others expect me to do. would have taken off yesterday to go grab it but had already made plans with the GF (now fiance btw ๐Ÿ˜€) so had to manage priorities. you guys know how that goes ๐Ÿ™‚. looking fwd to getting this in my hands & bringing home my new toy!

    What I Got Today!

I don't have this just yet, but hoping to go look-see-touch-hear it tomorrow. a local guy here posted a Carver M1.5t for what seems to be a very reasonable price. says it's hooked up, can hear it play etc. I've been looking at mostly multi-channel amps for HT system, but this one, at this price, is too good to pass up. so hopefully it comes home tomorrow to give it a try.
  21. no affil. I saw these come up in my alerts from the bay. wish these were local to me. my son & I were just talking this weekend about something like this; looks ruff but IMO a great project, maybe for Claude's Super project. seller says located in Sycamore IL from the ad: "Hereโ€™s a pair of original Klipsch model H700 Heresy speakers. They are the H-D-FR raw finish decorator version cabinets. They have cheap veneer around the cabinets right now and cheap grill cloth tacked on front. Early consecutive serial numbers 3H131 and 3H132. Everything is original and they work fine. Has the classic vintage red cloth surrounds on the K-22 woofers. Also has the K-77 tweeter and the K-55V horn drivers. Only removed 1 back to look inside and take pictures. Do your homework these are rare." link
  22. nice stuff there @avguytx . coming along nicely. keep posting. some are interested & rooting for you
