  1. You’ve gotta find someone with a vintage el84 amp. Eico,Scott, Dynaco, even Heathkit that would bring over and demo for you. I’m no audiophile and none of my setups are acoustically ideal but, I know the sweetness I hear when any of these are driving my forte ii or any of my other Klipsch speakers. If you mainly listen to vinyl the Scott would probably be the best fit without mods. The eico and Heathkit are not as good in the phono stage in stock form. .Don’t get me wrong I like marantz and solid state in certain systems but, you owe it to yourself to try a tube amp and i think the el84 amps are a great match and for $5-700 you should find a restored one. Good luck!
  2. eBay eats it, they make enough on us every other freaking day. 🙃
  3. I have forte, forte ii, Chorus ii and a recent addition of Cornscalas. All sound phenomenal on my eico hf-81, Scott 299, and Heathkit AA-151. I’m not sure I’d be happy with a low powered ss amp but, I sure am with tubes.
  4. My 14watt eico makes all my Klipsch sing at almost unbearable levels.
  5. I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks Jim.
  6. Hey Teaman, I’m trying to keep it local to Georgia right now as I know that shipping would kill the deal, that is unless I decide to part them out. Thanks.
  7. Not sure if you’re saying my price is too high or what exactly, other than you sold your kp too cheap.
  8. I have a somewhat rough pair of kp-250. No busted corners or water damage but, they’d need to be recoated to please most. they have great parts that I planned to build super heresys with but, don’t have the time to start another project. Separated all the components are worth 5-600$. These have the beefy k-42-e woofers, k-53-k mid drivers and k-701 horns. K-79-k tweeter and kp2.5a crossovers. Hopining somebody local will want them for $400. sold
  9. The info page I posted is from Bob’s website.its from an early date but I found pretty much identical details on his site today. The main upgrades I was referring to are the tubes, attenuator and cage. 1350 price drop.
  10. Ha, I was thinking that as well. But, no hard feelings. 🙃
  11. Yea I had the vta-70 as well this is definitely in another league. thanks for your “encouragement”. 😐
  12. see pics and details below. Hoping not to ship but if necessary I will. Will weigh around 45-50lbs all packed up. Also have Dynaco cage that is not pictured. Factory built these cost 1600$ with standard tubes, these are upgraded virtually brand new and are 109$ a piece the the cage is roughly 100$. 1350OBO plus shipping.
  13. Sucks! probably just build my own then. If they come up on the bay they’ll want stupid money for them.
  14. Shameless weekend bump.
  15. I need a pair of risers for my Chorus 2 as well. Does anybody know if Crites has these?
  16. Looks better in person but, it’s a start. thanks for your help.
  17. I know, just can’t get any to post. The ones on my phone are too large. I’ll try to figure a way around. Thanks.
  18. Price drop. 185 firm.
  19. I have a nice Sansui 2000a in a clean wood cabinet. 35w/ch with preouts. Haven’t had it very long but everything seems to work well. Lights are bright. Listed for 225 but would sell to a forum member for 200obo. I’m currently in Colorado Springs 80915 and really don’t want to ship. Can’t shrink photos right now so message me and I’ll email them to you.
  20. Dave, you’re the expert on the pro gear. What do these compare to? Can they beat Cornwalls or chorus being a 2 way vs 3way?
  21. Looks like you use your basement system is for your 2 channel stereo/vinyl listening. Consider saving up to invest in tubes for that set up as well. There is a sweet synergy between Klipsch and tubes. just my and many others humble opinion. 😃.
  22. Forte I are kinda of a pain to rebuild the xover on. The crossover is built on the back of the terminal cup and are impossible to just put new caps on...well at least for me. I took all the pieces off and built a new board for them. Really a gratifying job but it can be a head scratcher too. Recapping my forte ii and Chorus II that are built on pcb boards was a cake walk in comparison.
  23. 950 for forum members https://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/ele/d/technics-class-solid-state/6561986926.html
