  1. I switched over from Tidal to Amazon Hd music. It’s only $12.99 instead of Tidal’s $19.99 and they have many super hd songs in their numerous playlists. So it is cheaper than tidal and for the music I listen to has more super high resolution songs than I could find on Tidal so no dealing with MQA to get hi Rez music streaming. Sounds better than Spotify imho.
  2. https://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/STEREO-TUBE-AMPLIFIER-INSPIRE-by-DENNIS-HAD-SET-TRIODE-SINGLE-ENDED-AMPLIFIER-/153221166951 Dennis Had makes beautiful one of a kind Amps and preamps. All hand made and point to point wiring. He is a master. If he'd had integrated amps with remote controls I would have bought one of those instead of my Primaluna.
  3. My Forte 1s had dave As LMAHL tweeters that sound amazing. That said the new IVs tweeters sound better to me because of the better crossovers and smoother transition from the mid horn to the tweeter horn and new phase plug. Still not broken in yet but about 20 hours on them now and the high frequencies are already sounding less edgy and the balance is really sweet. The more I listen to them the more I love them. Also - I started playing with speaker placement and so far I have found that in my room with my furniture and flooring they sound best aimed straight ahead and 8-10 inches from the back wall. Moving them out farther from the wall doesn't sound any better nor worse but my Forte 1s sounded best 6 inches off the back wall. 6 inches off the back wall is about 2 inches too close. Soundstage is much wider and deeper with a much larger sweet spot.
  4. My wife is awesome. So beautiful inside and out and we have fun, daily. When I bought my Forte IVs i found I had some cash in an account I did not realize I had any $$$ in. I had put away $$ for the new speakers but when my wife saw the credit card bill come in she paid it off from money she had made from her xmas bonus. She told me to keep my $$$ in case I wanted to buy other gear or whatever. That worked for me -lol
  5. Kevin is very passionate about his Primaluna amps and tube amplifiers in general. 1/2 hour sitting in the showroom with Kevin was a good education for me. He did not try to sell me anything but the Evo 400 sold itself. As much as I liked my McIntosh hybrid integrated I felt the PL was at another level.

    KT-170 ?

Those look cool. Even bigger than my KT150s
  7. My KT150 tubes came from Upscale Audio and they are a top notch seller of premium tubes.
  8. Looking forward to hear your impressions of the Forte IVs compared to the Forte iiis
  9. the kt 150s are not really just about more power. They just have a different sound - more mid to lower bass while the highs are crystal clear. I liked the EL 34s also but I have Forte IVs that are 99 db efficient and I think they sound better with the KT 150s than with my EL 34s. I think tube differences are more about synergy in every different system.
  10. I have a Primaluna evo 400 and i have started playing with Tube Rolling with it. I started out with the stock EL34 tubes and it sounded great. I had those in for over a year and I then tried a couple of Brimar preamp tubes and I liked the difference they made. A few months later my wife bought me 8 new KT150s and to my ears in my system I loved the change to the 150s over the el34s. Much more punchy mid bass and top end very clean. Having changed my Forte 1s to the new Forte IVs the mid base and mid range is just so much more dynamic at every level. I do not think I will ever go back to the EL 34s or get rid of the Brimars
  11. Now that I’ve heard the Forte IVs I would love to hear the forte IIIs and the Cornwall IVs. People that live close to Paducah are lucky to have that opportunity.
  12. Since I used my own $$$$ to buy the Kkipsch Forte IVs the only opinion about them that really matters to me is my own. I only try and share my impressions to the best of my abilities so people can hear opinions about them from someone other than the marketing people at Klipsch. Since I have no investment in the Klipsch company I am not here to help them market their products. It is very early in the listening experience with the new IVs as they are just BARELY starting to break in.And... I only have my modified Forte 1s to compare them to and my old Cerwin Vega speakers. Both sets of those were used for years in the same room and same space as the IVs.The Cerwin Vegas were big and bad with monster bass and were rock and roll heaven in my younger days but really only sounded good at ear bleed levels. My Forte 1s sounded pretty good and much better after adding Dave As LMAHL Tweeters. This brings me to the IVs. The differences are DRAMATIC!!!!! They are flat out on a much HIGHER level. Soundstage is so deep and wide and detailed. Listening to all genres at all levels quickly shows what a QUANTUM leap the IVs are. They have addressed everything I found missing in my Forte Is.I have no clue how they compare to Forte IIIs as I have never heard the IIIs so I can obviously not compare them to the IVs. Like the other people on this Forum who already own the IVs have said - "I can not stop listening" and not because I am listening to the speakers. Instead it is because the music I have listened to for many years is drawing me in so much more and I think that is my ultimate goal. Listening to more music and enjoying it more and more. I think most people that like the Klipsch sound would find the Forte IVs very enjoyable. always - JUST my opinion for whatever that is worth
  13. Congratulations on getting one of the first pairs of those beautiful natural cherry Forte IVs. I received my Cherry Forte IVs on Friday and bought a set of lambs wool grills to make them blend with my decor.I totally agree what you said about the sound stage and live music feel. They are spectacular.Enjoy!!!!!! Looking forward to hearing even more real user reviews.
  14. I had never heard a tube amp before hearing the evo 400. I had a very nice McIntosh ma252 hybrid integrated. When I visited Upscale Audio and heard the Primaluna I became obsessed with switching from the McIntosh hybrid and Upscale offered me a very healthy trade in. I discussed it with Kevin Deal and he said that any of the evo series would have plenty of power to power my existing Klipsch speakers. i wanted to get the best amp I could afford so I would not have to keep trading up searching for my forever amp and I am pretty sure I found that in the EVO 400.
  15. Of course I will always protect my wife from the scrutiny of the mostly men on this audio forum. A place where almost everyone thinks it is always better no matter what the situation to have bigger speakers and more and more powerful bass. Big big bigger! Testosterone on steroids!
  16. My super heresys sound very close to my Forte 1s as confirmed by my wife as she critically compared them.
  17. These are my latest observations on the quality of sound thru the Forte IVs. I woke early and played my ‘Acoustic Cover Playlist’ at very low volume levels. I usually listen to my music at moderate to loud levels but the volume level was very low this morning. This early morning low volume music listening thing is a ritual I have done many times over many years. My impression is that the IVs are much smoother and at the same time much more dynamic at very low volume levels. Shockingly better than my Forte 1s ever sounded. Almost like pressing a loudness button on an old receiver. I think the IVs are going to surprise a lot of people, with just how good they sound. My wife told me last night she could hear the difference and liked them very much. She said to her they sounded much richer and I agree.
  18. I love my Primaluna EVO 400. Paired with my new Forte IV it is a magical combo. There is a lot to like about the Primaluna integrated amp.
  19. Klipsch. Wanted to bring up the entire heritage line with the same voicing all the way from the Corner horns to the heresys and everything in between. It’s not like Forte iiis are not good speakers anymore. They still rock. People want Klipsch to stay in business and keep improving. We live in a world where many products are updated yearly - look at iPhones, software, cars etc. why should Klipsch be any different?
  20. Sorry for the loss of your friend. Losing a good close friend is always so tragic.
  21. And yes Claude I do have a lot of test tunes I will further evaluate once the IVs get at least several hundred hours on them.
  22. Some dude told me they sound as good as fortes
  23. Maybe I should ship you a pair of super heresys
