Something not quite right - type AA?- 1

Oh, man. These are so nice.

What you are describing is audio compression.
Google “loudness wars” to learn how this ruined many releases over the years, especially in the early 90’s.
I have some CD’s of the same album and same artist from different years and they are all dynamically different.- 3

Hah, Tapatalk digest arrived in my mail this morning and the original photo is preserved as a thumbnail, so I got to see it. Outstanding.

I maked test with duratex, but not is nothing similar the finished.
thanks for your recommendation,I would say that the pattern is dependent on the roller.

I do not know what the factory used, but I have achieved almost exact results with Duratex.

You know we used to have the same problem with rabbit ears.

Yep, and a bit of added aluminum foil was essential. It didn’t make anything any better, but we were convinced it did. -

Just north of here on the other side of the Mississippi, near Alton IL, you can watch Bald Eagles with great regularity.
Many times you will watch them catch fish. They wait below a couple lock and dams and catch the fish that get stunned going through the dam and float for a little while. Some make it, some are lunch.
There are eagles behind @Hornographic's house a few miles from here.

Here's another box fan vid. He uses a fog machine that makes a racket, but only briefly. As I mentioned before, you do not have to duct tape it. The filter adheres to it when on.
I have that Honeywell unit and it works great. I only keep one room super clean with it, but it says it'll do 400 sq. ft. and I believe it.

LOL, this is the correct answer!

Or, for stereo-only audio-only recordings (which IMO/IME are antiquated vs. audio-video/multi-channel recordings), hi-res stereo recordings are suitable (e.g., 24bit/192kHz PCM downloads).
Redbook CD is vintage technology (16bit/44.1kHz) – i.e., introduced 40 years ago.
With all due respect, I could record Edison cylinders at 24/192 and it would not improve quality. You can go sky-high on your “high res” audio parameters and achieve no higher actual quality. Once you’ve captured the dynamics and bandwidth of the source, you’re done.
Also, few Redbook examples take advantage of the available dynamics. I wouldn’t discount 40-year-old tech as being inadequate because of age. It may be irrelevant because of the source material.
Just my opinion. I will prove it soon with analysis of purchased “high res” recordings. Most of what is sold is ripped from CD’s. -
Super nice setup.

I understand the laws pretty well. Don't get your panties in a bunch! I'm not arguing that a horn loaded sub wouldn't sound awesome with very little distortion. I am saying that it's pointless because of the amount of space it takes up... it's not practical for almost everyone in a home setting.
You can make it a bit more practical if you make them pillars, in this example the THTLP:

Without seeing the backs of the Klipschorns, it isn’t clear what you have there. See if you can get better photos of all angles and maybe serial numbers too.

Yes, it's called a Quarter Pie, since I designed that and the Super MWM. The quarter pies uses roughtly the same corner space as an FH-1 and is flat to 50 Hz. instead of 90. It's only a 90-135 degree single fold but I never used it past about 300-400 Hz. Very easy build.

It was certainly there earlier. Maybe it got donated!

I'd help $20 if it goes to the museum.

That's what it looks like to me too.
Yep. It sure pairs GREAT with the LS. -
Is that a THTLP dressed up in battle dress and aluminum trim?? If so I would like to see more pics of that!
Yes.
It isn’t super nice looking up close and I want to rebuild it.
The trim is to match my la scalas. Same handles too.
I will try to take some photos.- 1

What setup would I need to get the full effect?
Careful not to get too invested. What will you do if you can’t hear the slightest difference?
GIGO. You aren’t getting some magic effect out of recordings that don’t have it to begin with, no matter how carefully the bits are folded.
Just my opinion.
Radio Shack K-horns. Who knew?
