  1. hi everybody, A 1986 NME compilation on Rough Trade Records, an impressive band roster, some of which would go on to become famous: Primal Scream A Witness The Scrubs The Wedding Present Mighty mighty Stump The Pastels The Mighty Lemon Drops The Soup Dragon ... https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-C86/release/850292 I am not the cassette but the original LP version that I bought in 1986 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C86
  2. I ordered a Pas Audio 2002PCA studio amp with convection cooling and no fan. It is equipped with reputable Mosfets k1058 - j162: the construction is done by hand by a craftsman in Germany. Some photos found on the net ๐Ÿ˜‹
  3. The green US ๐Ÿ˜Ž M4 = Super, this car is ๐Ÿงก I had his mami a long time ago 325i cab
  4. I love your ABH2, measurements are one thing, but the sound of this little gem must be extraordinary, lucky ๐Ÿ˜ For cars
  5. For our friend @Langston I have both two : one Mustang 2010 and on 911 2001 There in my country, around Les Baux-de-Provence, for those who know. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  6. The tests that everyone knows https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-benchmark-ahb2-amp.7628/ And this https://benchmarkmedia.com/blogs/application_notes/tas-interviews-john-siau
  7. Hi OK, too bad and it does not matter โœŒ๏ธ
  8. Hi @Langston I am watching with interest your topic on the coils ๐Ÿ‘ I myself modestly made a filter with a Jantzen coil 4N 18AWG for the HF103 Faital medium from my Cornwall. I also love your amps: the Italian Powersoft and the US Benchmark AHB2. I myself have ordered a more modest but interesting handcrafted German handcrafted amp, the Pas-Audio 2002PCA, a class AB mosfet. ๐Ÿคช
  9. Hi @babadono Yes I checked all the conection and the potentiometers: everything works fine. The repairer is known to be serious and checking the amplifier costs only โ‚ฌ 30 (~36$)to tell me what the fault is. If I have the amplifier repaired, these โ‚ฌ 30 will be deducted from the price of the repair. Afterwards, if the price of the repair is too high for me, the repairer can eventually buy me back my broken amp, he will revise it for a future sale at his place. In the meantime I restarted my Perspective A1, a French amp that I bought in 1982 and which has a very good bass sound. It replaces the MC2125 without demerit and while waiting to receive the Pas-Audio 2002PCA. Perspective A1
  10. Hi @Melone 29 Thank for the test Stereoplay ๐Ÿ‘ Yes show us the CWIII review Stereoplay if you have it, please. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. Sound Smith restores and makes modern versions of B&O cartridges, a good opportunity for fans of the brand. https://www.sound-smith.com/bo-cartridges
  12. Hi @C10 I have CWIIIs, but I imagine the curve is almost the same at K33E. My experience with my McIntosh MC2125: it works better and the sound is better on the 8ohms terminals, because on the 4ohms terminals the sound is softer in the bass, but beware this is only valid for CWIII + MC2125 and also for my ears. I think the wiser will be to listen to the wedding with your amp first in 4 ohms, then in 8 ohms and your ears will easily choose for you which you prefer. Technically no problem to connect in 4 ohms or 8 ohms it is just the quality of the restitution which will change. The curve of CWIII, for the moment impossible to find the curve of CWIV on the net https://www.audioreview.it/wp-content/uploads/prove/storiche/klipsch-cornwall-iii.html/misure-cornwell.jpg https://www.audioreview.it/prove/storiche/klipsch-cornwall-iii.html
  13. Thank you ๐Ÿ‘ Anyway, I don't want to do any shipping, if I sell my MC2125 the buyer will pick it up at my home.
  14. Yes here there is a beautiful castle from the Middle Ages, opposite that of Tarascon (Tartarin) https://www.google.com/search?q=chateaux+de+Beaucaire+et+Tarascon&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjMj4iMjerwAhXigHMKHflGAeQQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=chateaux+de+Beaucaire+et+Tarascon&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQDFCp1wFYluwBYIP6AWgAcAB4AIABxgGIAbsFkgEDMC40mAEAoAEBqgELZ3dzLXdpei1pbWfAAQE&sclient=img&ei=q7CvYIyOE-KBzgP5jYWgDg&bih=625&biw=1366 Transport is a problem for you, I don't have a box for my MC2125. When I bought it in a HiFi store, there was no box and I carried it to my house on the floor of my car, but I only had 30kms from the store. I know that in the United States they sell the transport boxes, but for us it would still be extra costs. You think that a McIntosh massive amp 60lbs / 30 Kg can navigate with the ocean waves to your home without breaking the glass of the facade !!!
  15. He is a repairman who maintains McIntosh and other quality HiFi brands. Maybe it will be too expensive for me to do the repair, I don't know, sometimes it's just a tinkering and sometimes it's more serious, only the doctor will tell me. https://www.classichifi.shop/
  16. Hi @Bubo Thank you for all your informative comments: Since my first post, things have changed: 1- I tried the Lab Gruppen, but since the fan noise was too loud and continuous, I returned it to the seller for free. 2- my MC2125 broke down, I have to take it to a repairman in a few days to get a repair estimate. 3- yes I know I should keep the MC2125, I've had it for over 21 years, but I wanted to change for no objective reason just for fun: I look with envy at the PAS Audio 2002PCA it's a small fanless studio amp in class AB mosfet K1058 / J162, handcrafted by a craftsman in Germany, I will only use it for bass on the K33E, above I have a Cary SLi50 ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. Yes it was planned for the stage, the bars, the churches ... Sometimes some are silent when they are cold, but not this one. It's not the manufacturer's fault, it's me who wanted to use a pro amp for my living room. Sometimes it works, for example with modern Class D Crown, sometimes not. It's okay, I'm going to buy a convection cooled studio amp: so no noise.
  18. If completely new factory double box and attached with the original seal, it was opened by me. I believe even the silent mode is just too loud for the living room, but it is very good for the stage.
  19. A new project, I saw an interview with Ibrahim Maalouf (Franco / Lebanese Jazz musician) in his recording studio on France3 (French national TV) 3 weeks ago: he has this Pas Audio 2002PCA amplifier and I really envy to try it, only the blue color scares me a little ๐Ÿ˜Ž This is an amp entirely handcrafted in Germany by a small craftsman. It is widely used in European studios, especially in Germany, and it has a very good reputation. I don't have a video of the France3 interview where we can see the PAS AUDIO very clearly, but there on this one we can guess from 0:25 at the bottom right: in blue ๐Ÿคช
  20. Thank, Yes I was sorry, the DSP rest and sound was great otherwise. It does not matter I will find an amp that I like and listen to a lot of music calmly
  21. Yes, while the manufacturer indicated in its technical sheets that the fans (there are 2 of them on this model) were regulated with the temperature, at home they worked continuously as hard as a hair dryer. I have already listened to pro amps with fan that were cold silent, this is not the case with this Lab Gruppen, maybe hot the fans were even louder ๐Ÿ˜ too bad it was great otherwise.
  22. Hi @SpeedLimit On the Lab Gruppen I didn't want to change the fans, because the amp was new with a 10 years warranty. I am thinking of taking an amp without a fan, it will be easier. For the MC2125, I will see a repairman near my home in a while, he will quote for the repair.
  23. Hello everyone ! Here is some news, so I tried the Lab Gruppen PDX3000. The sound is good, the DSP great with great software. But unfortunately the fans make too much noise all the time, it looks like a hair dryer. This amp is sure to be great elsewhere, but not in my living room, so I returned it to the seller. Ironically, in the meantime, my MC 2125 broke last week, the right channel works then does not turn on, and then works again, then does not work anymore ๐Ÿคข So I installed a small spare transistors amp that I had in a cupboard and for the moment I'm thinking about what to do next: maybe order a new fanless amp ๐Ÿ˜‹ I'm thinking of an amp for a recording studio, for example ๐Ÿฅฐ
  24. Hi, Do not forget the black ones, the birch has splendid veins according to the light. This color is sober and less spectacular than the woods, but it will pass the years without any weariness that is the advantage. The wedding will also depend on your interior. For me in the end all the finishes are beautiful. Mine are CWIII ๐Ÿ˜Ž
