  1. Comparing speakers is tons of fun along with enjoying the music. I love comparing speakers and amps. I do the same with telescopes.
  2. You're welcome to shed light. We'll see if that ever happens.
  3. Nice thread. I have a new ST35 on the way from Kenny Russell over at Funtastic Vintronics which I intend to compare with my other amps. I hear it’s the best sounding of all the Dynaco amps. Can’t find any good video reviews on these so I’ll do my own review. So fed up with all the marketed nonsense youtubers only review, it’s sad.
  4. Until those like yourself who feel so strongly do some real side by side comparisons, this discussion is going nowhere. There is no video in existence where a Cornwall III vs IV has been done.
  5. The CWIV is definitely the nicest looking of the bunch IMO. Maybe the looks of their big midrange horn persuades buyers they’re better rather than real listening 😂
  6. Shakey, I agree with you 100% if you are listening more, that ultimately proves you are engaged and enjoying what you have and that's good. That's what I say in my video reviews when I tell people how I judge gear. If it engages you enough that you are listening, then you know it's good. My issue was that people go out of their way to say they like something more than another, yet don't even do any side by sides. People are just trying to get constructive feedback, but that is often met with un-constructive blanket statements that really offer no feedback to help others make choices. My friends argue with me all the time. They can't figure out why I hate solid state amps so much. They go based on measurements. If you wanna know how much measurements can drive me nuts when used wrong then just watch this. I absolutely can not stand Amir at ASR. I think he's a measuring geek who couldn't judge sound quality to save his life and I'm pretty honest about it. All I'm saying is whenever somebody comes into these forums saying they like an earlier model compared to a later model, they are always met with opposition, and thus, some people should look in the mirror (not you btw) about who's really enjoying and who's not.
  7. Because there really are a lot of people who go out of their way to claim things are better or worse without doing side by sides. Why would someone want to trust their opinion when they are not comparing things side by side? Do we see Peducah Home Theater comparing the Cornwall III to the Cornwall IV? No, and we never will because Klipsch nor Peducah sell the III anymore. How's that gonna help a business sell speakers if people think the III sounds better than the IV or not? Instead, people go out f their way to tell everyone the IV series are better, yet none of these people have even done any side by sides. We can't really go based on their memory. It needs to be side by side. I did this with the Heresy IV and people went out of their way to be A... holes to tell me I was wrong. I was very specific about what I liked and didn't like, yet it was met with constant opposition by a group of Heresy IV fanboys who hadn't even done the side by sides themselves.
  8. This is only because of the recent burst of youtube reviews coinciding at the same time the CWIV's were introduced. Why would Klipsch send any of these channels CWIII's or II's for that matter when they are trying to market the IV's? It's simply because there is no money in anything old to generate YouTube subscribers. The YouTuber's know people are only interested in new gear so that's all they review. People forget that Klipsch is a business now with a big marketing agenda. The new Khorn's with their closed backs have not gotten good reviews compared to the previous models. Klipsch has tried to claim they don't have to be in the corners. Many of the people who claim the newer models are better are not doing real side by side comparisons. Instead they just go online claiming everything newer is better. I work in the telescope industry. I've probably reviewed more telescopes than anyone in the world. I've been doing it for 30 years. The same nonsense happens in the telescope industry so I can easily tell when people are just being marketed. I don't mind newer things, but when people make claims without doing some real side by sides, it gets a bit difficult to swallow and I'm amazed at how easily people believe everything they're told.
  9. Like I’ve said. Newer isn’t always better.
  10. Yes, I’ve compared this. Very nice but extremely bright and detailed sounding. Not the best match if you’re using Heritage speakers IMO.
  11. I actually liked that review as well and I actually love the Heresy IV too. I'm not a hater of that speaker. It just has a couple of things that need to be improved to make it a Heresy V. The IV is one of Klipsch's best sellers, so I have no doubt there will be a Heresy V. I just think some individuals are out of place with regard to their comments on some of the earlier models in specific cases. Inevitably what's important is that we all enjoy and like the models we listen to. I love Klipsch. To me, they make the finest speakers in the world as far as I'm concerned regardless of price. I love their lively kick *** sound and they have balls. The Heritage line are super special to me. I just have a great respect for what PWK accomplished and his older speakers will always be special to me as well as the newer lines.
  12. I love the Heresy IV’s, however, for you to say there are zero complaints is excessive. I explained specifically the issues I had playing jazz at low listening levels in my video as well as other videos of mine. The HIV does not produce any bass at lower listening levels. The Forte I does produce bass at lower listening levels by comparison. Certainly ones listening experiences are subjective but let’s be reasonable here. I explained my points very specifically, unlike blanket statements we continually hear in these forums like this is better than that. Very few are specific about anything in their reviews and that’s the problem I have with so many. I don’t see people producing any comparison videos other than just what’s new and we’re all just supposed to believe it? All most of these youtubers concern themselves with are subscriber counts because they’re trying to make a living off this stuff. That’s why you don’t see any reviews of vintage gear being discussed or compared to newer gear. There’s no business in it, period. Youtubers aren’t going to waste their time reviewing products that are not in production because they’ll lose their audience and subscribers because people are marketed on new gear. To say there are zero complaints of the HIV is absurd and you think I’m the one that’s confused? There’s been countless complaints about their box resonance. Even Mirko, my friend who owns the HIV agrees. Here are some videos below who explain the issue. Roy talks about how PWK wanted these new designs implemented but I seriously wonder about that sometimes. PWK handed him a book and basically said figure it out. As PWK aged, it was obvious that he was handing over the reins. What I find so disheartening though is how people basically trash PWK’s work as if he had it wrong compared to today. Heck, he’d been at this for decades. You think he couldn’t have designed horns like what we see today in that time span? If he did then maybe that needs to be posted at the forefront.
  13. Do you use the EVO400 with those Forte IV’s?
  14. Out of curiosity what size is your room? If rectangular, are the Forte’s pointed at you along the long side of the room or perpendicular?
  15. Gosh, I’m actually sorry to hear that. Amazes me your Forte IV aren’t enough on their own. I guess it must be something to do with the acoustics of your room so perhaps in your case it’s needed. Have you even considered taking your 1’s and placing them where the IV’s are instead just to see what happens to the bass? Maybe it’s not enough still. i was amazed when Paducah Home Theater was comparing the Heresy IV to the Forte IV. There were times when they liked each more than the other and yet when I listen to the Forte I and the Heresy IV, there is absolutely nothing the Heresy IV does better, nothing, and you pay more for them. Strange how different the outcomes are with reviews sometimes.
  16. My apologies, I meant YouTube reviews.
  17. I agree subs can work well but not in my case. I’ve been using my Rel T5i’s with my Heresy II’s for some time now. In some cases just one sub or in some cases, two subs and they are amazing with the Heresy. Match made in heaven. I had one for each channel. 80-90% of the music I listen to is jazz and the rest, classical. One of my friends is a classical guru and has attended numerous live events. He always worries about bass with cellos so when he came over to hear these Forte I’s he said there was too much bass. I told him I did that just to shut his bass headed concerns up. He says it’s too close to the wall. I said no, you’ve been watching too many modern Forte videos. I had the bass on the preamp purposely turned up to the 3 o’clock position, so I set it back to flat. He says that’s much better. I said good, you’re happy with the bass? He says yea, this sounds amazing and loves the cellos. With jazz in my room though, there’s absolutely no possible way my Rel’s Would improve the sound of these Forte1’s. They contain well more than enough bass if desired. So, I have no idea how subs could even remotely improve these Forte I’s. The bass is tight, clean, deep and fast. I think listeners have to determine the genre of music they’re playing first. For example, in home theater I get the idea of adding subs for rumble, but for jazz musicality adding subs to these Forte I’s would be unlistenable IMO.
  18. I think what’s unfortunate is why nobody has any reviews on the older models as if they’re bad or something. The older models are still great speakers and in certain cases better in some ways. It just seems to me all people give a shit about is what’s marketed to them. Nobody is specific about why something is better, worse or different. I think it’s absolutely nuts in this day and age that there are literally zero videos on the Forte 1 or 2 for that matter. All these YouTuber’s talk about is newly marketed stuff because their only mission is to increase their subscription counts and people are stupid and gullible enough to fall for it. Don’t forget to subscribe folks!
  19. Probably explains why people still contemplate subs even after having spent 5K on a pair of the latest Forte’s. Pretty absurd if you ask me.
  20. Now companies are going to start clogging the arteries of components just so they measure well. Amazes me that beginners are arrogant enough to think they can judge components based on measurements they’re not properly trained to understand, myself included.
