  1. The White Stripes tend to bring things back to the elemental...Listen to Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground..Fell in Love With a Girl..Their rendition of the St James Infirmary Blues... It's all very raw, and in this day of over-produced mass marketed palp...Its very refreshing.. IMO, the duo shows more talent than the swarming hoards that hold those nasty little popular chart slots. (Not to say that I don't have a keen appreciation for over-produced mass marketed palp...It's all good.)
  2. The main consideration in my case was the fact that optical is physically fragile, and coaxial is not. If you are snaking wires here and there then optical is a BAD choice.
  3. Well maybe that is fodder for happy thoughts... Now Michael, what in the world are you talking about?
  4. Instead of counting sheep...start counting tootsies.....yep start counting them there toes. One at a time, and give each and everyone of them the concentration that they deserve, and once you have successfully got them all lined up move on to them calves, hippos etc,etc.....Oooops you didn't make it to the sum total of 10 tootsies, without worrying about them there income tax returns...BACK TO COUNTING THEM TOOTSIES. I've transcended the tootsie thing and I'm into hair folicle counting...very relaxing. However, the Lady Clairol folicles seem a bit more pudgy than the Loreal...a simple observance BAAAA BAAAA
  5. Killers - "Hot Fuss" - post punk/alternative
  6. ---------------- No wonder my aunt has three thumbs and one ear. ---------------- All on one hand...COOL!
  7. At least the "New" Fiestaware won't make you glow in the dark. The older stuff (reds/oranges/yellow) had traces of Uranium and Lead... We were using castoff stuff in college, and I can report little or no effects in my life now, so it probably doesn't matter...dosent mater, doenotmorte, mortelessnow.. Frankly, I think the rest of the chemicals we ingested neutralized the bad stuff... One must always maintain a balanced chemical diet.
  8. While the FBI warning screen is being displayed, the specifications of your set are being transmitted to the DVD manufacturer (along with a camera shot of you and your living area), then the movie is reformatted while they are displaying the film company's blurp. The camera shots are sold to internet dating services, and assorted criminal elements. Pretty slick if you ask me.
  9. Tom, I've never seen one with only the single character filename. I really don't know what's up with that. Sounds like some websites are leaving doo doo on your machine. cluless (again)
  10. Dojur- You just HAVE to come back as someone else. I'm sure that Henry can offer you an alter ego or two. kloo
  11. In windows, the tilde icons are usually associated with temporary files, or files left over when an application crashes.
  12. Ratboy! I hate to break it to you buddy....Over the years most of us have had less and less reason to hate you. You've gone from a an "obnoxious-punk-assed-kid" to a serious contributor to this forum.. In the meantime, I have proudly maintained my role as "psycho crazy twitch" ... Just goes to show... Cool Things are possible for those born on 2/11. Yeah yeah yeah.. Happy boithday Ratboy!
  13. "Package of Silence"....What? I thought that this was an audio forum...Dagnabbit Fini! I always thought that you were a subversive, but the outright confirmation is a little more than I can take.

You are out of your flipping mind! 1 CD for a year...quite psychotic.. But then again....from all indications...that DefLepord CD may have been the last music that you have purchased grumble grumble friggen, grumble grumble rule breakers.
  15. Moon - I can't follow in your "hair" band footsteps.... But here areMy favorite bands of the 80's.....JUst as a start Early U2 - Boy - October Smithereens Rem Replacements/Paul Westerberg Ramones Psychedelic Furs B52s Roxy Music Jeff Beck
  16. I went to 3 different High schools...and a re-union at any of them is BEYOND FRIGHTFUL
  17. Steve, I don't think the zen micro is up to mogul hopping - I got this from creative labs website FAQ page. "You should not subject Zen Micro to continuous shocks, such as those that are likely to occur while you jog or run" My guess is that this would apply to other hard drive mp3 players also. Idunno. Davmar - I take it the washing comment was based on experience. hehehe.
  18. OK...Zero audition here...I just got tired of hefting the CD player, the case, the accessories, and the CD carrying case (with head phones, extra batteries and AC Adapter)... So what did I buy? - Creative Zen Micro 5 GB player and Sennheiser PX 200 portable headphones.. Yeah Yeah Yeah, I could have bought a 20 or 40 Gig hard drive player for similar prices...Or I could have bought the "most" popular Ipod mini..but I was looking for small, lightweight and industry standard compatible Anyhow the jury is still out...I have a 30 day audition period with crutchfield. P.S. One of the real selling points for the Creative model was, replacable battery, more compatable to MS products Anyone have feedback or consideration on these models? Clu

I think y'all think way too much of your animals, or not nearly enough of humanity. Anyone who can equate acquiring a pet to adopting a child is probably worthy of neither. ---------------- Well jdm56 .... You just crossed the line from being outraged - to outrageous. Go ahead, pat yourself on the back as being the great humanitarian, great adopter....but dont you ever FLOCKING (Sorry Amy) dare to criticize the members of this forum for efforts that you consider below your lofty standards. You don't have a FLOCKING clue as to what these forum members do to support each other, and taking care of needy animals is something that the childless among us take great pride in. So take your inflated self idealism....and stuff it.

    YGM- Thank You!

I dunno whether YGM means that "You've got Mail, Manure, Myopia or Misplaced Meglomanic Mental Meanderings", but I for one read your reviews and consider them when scoping out DVD purchases. I also like that you check out the bargain bins, the "odds" and the "strange". This part of the forum oftentimes suffers from severe neglect. ....ooops...seeems I missed a consonant with your screen name... If you have a real problem with it, I suggest that you and Lynnnnmmnnnmnnm file a joint suit against me... chairs! NICE JOB clu

I thought that they became little less than BirdSeed when they transformed into Cracker.. I'll have to check it out... In the mean-time, new listeners...catch this, Real Early/Great Disc Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart... Fun fun fun
  23. As quoted by Ratboy...hehehehe ---------------- No doubt it would last me the rest of my life. ---------------- Hey Ratboy! First mistake, and one that I continue to fall for...LOL. The "rest of your life" thing only works if your tastes never change, your housing and spatial considerations never change, your significant other never changes, your stuff never gets overly transported to hell and back", technology freezes in time, etc.etc. I continually am trading out racks, stands, what-not and things that I will last me the rest of my life. On the constructive side... So long as you are the single student (and future apartment dweller), keep things small, keep them sturdy, keep them flexible, and so you can maximize usage. Good luck (FINALLY) on your Klipsch system...AND YES WE WANT PICTURES.. Clu
