    The Other Discs

@MicroMara can't believe you left without them! By now you should know better! 😂 @JohnJ you better stay away from Jeff Beck's woman!
  2. Alchemy: Dire Straits Live was their first recorded live lp at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 22–23 July 1983, the final two concerts of Dire Straits' eight-month Love Over Gold Tour promoting their album Love Over Gold. The concerts were recorded by Mick McKenna using the Rolling Stones Mobile unit. The recording was mixed at AIR Studios in London in November 1983. Nigel Walker was the engineer. Whew, forgot how great this lp was!
  3. Nice twist right here. Enjoy!
  4. OSU's Troy Smith. They're good friends.
  5. Have to give the 2019 Heisman photo credit to my youngest daughter on this one. Had me scratching my head til Christmas. She wouldn't tell me who she was with til Christmas. Nope, not Joe Burrow but another Heisman winner. As a photog you just do NOT get into that event. Figured it was thru her Master's program then found out. Typical kid!

    Toots. So sad.

    Bottled water? Sad...
  7. Satuday right? Chillin now with "The Long Run." Survivin so far! French doors are open. Is that a block party or do we all have to have Heineken's and glassy eyes? 😂 Me thinks @JohnJ must be watching his "boys" play a real tough competitor in Wake Forest. 17-0 with 10 minutes left in the first half. Seriously? I'm thinkin 41-7 for a final. They're soft as marshmallow's... 😂 🤣 😂
  8. Unzipped this and blown away... Said it was smokin hot and yup it's definitely a double thumbs up!
  9. So many great one's out there but there are also so many personalities to deal with. IF you can level things out and respect each other and just bare your soul then there are no limits to what ANY of them can achieve. Time and again that's been proven. They all have to put it on the shelf and sit down and get to work instead of the me, me, me crap. When you think of all the past groups that no one could touch and look at what broke them up it's really pretty amazing. Ego's and personalities almost every time. Those that have passed due to drug/alcohol related deaths, I believe, were totally drained and void of thought. Yet the record companies pushed and pushed for more. It wasn't coming out anymore. Hence the drug/alcohol frenzy. Reaching out and pushing the limit sometimes helped but if it wasn't there you pushed harder and harder. Sometimes it worked and unfortunately at times it didn't. They had to reach for that brass ring. Their image, the group's image all rested on each one of them. They took stardom seriously so they pushed themselves way too far. They either died or realized they needed help. Look at Petty's last tour w/Joe Walsh. A broken hip and still on the road trying to heal and living with the pain for the masses? It all caught up with him one night and it's sad. They ALL gave everything to their fans just as those who are clean today do. They listened to their wake-up call. Some never had the chance or took the chance and lost. Again, just my thoughts on things.
  10. The cover was actually an 11-year-old girl and not released in the US or Canada. Quite the stir here in the US and Europe over that one. Here's a link: https://vintagenewsdaily.com/mariora-goschen-the-young-girl-featured-on-the-controversial-blind-faith-album-cover-in-1969/
  11. Cream splits in mid-68 yet Clapton, Winwood (Spencer Davis Group then Traffic), Baker and Rick Grech became Blind Faith. A short but amazing run! Whew, ELP in their 1970 debut lp? Straight to #4 in the UK and #18 on Billboad's top 200 lp's. "Lucky Man" hit #48 as a single in the US. Such a great prog/rock lp. Always a favorite.
  12. Where's @thebes when ya need him? He'd be cookin too! Nice funk @JohnJ! Lacin up my Capezio's! Now I'm having a visual of an old pudgy, squatty dude hurtin himself. 😂 😎
  13. Just a tad nippy around here this morning. Coffee's on target and I took my meds so I guess I can't stir much up today. I've got faith though so I'm sure I'll find something to do.
  14. Pushin 2PM and I'm thunkin, which is scary. Made it thru 2 of the Metallica lp's and caved. Gonna warm things up shortly and finish it. So far not really impressed although the symphony works nicely. Who knows whats next up on the table today. Thunkin though... Think I'll clean a stack of something. Beatles, Stones, Walsh, Genesis, Yes to start. That should take a couple days. hahaha
  15. Ran across this one last night. Gave it a hmmmmm then wondered how I got it. I can neither confirm or deny I bought it. lol Figured I may as well be totally worthless today so just threw this one on to see what was happening in the world of Metallica. S&M 2 with the San Francisco symphony. $70 is insane but it is 4 lp's in a double fold-over cover, which still didn't justify my purchase. The thing that did was the fact I have none, nope, zero Metallica anything and if they're with a symphony it should be pretty good. Cya @ the end of the 4th if I haven't committed Hari-kari.
  16. Wakeman's LP is pretty darn sweet John! MicroMara ya need that Winter Brothers lp right in behind that one. Hot and hard! hahaha
  17. IF you honestly think I did that you're craaaaazy! lolol Been un-zippin a few new ones I've had stacked up waiting on the up-grade. What a difference! Annie Lennox teamed up w/Dave Stewart in the mid-70's and after two lp's nailed another one in 1983, "Torch." Gotta love that woman, just captivating in every mysterious way of hers. Don't EVEN tell me you didn't listen to John Kay and the boys. 1968 they began and really did things the RIGHT way for so many rockers. "Steppenwolf sold over 25 million records worldwide, released eight gold albums and 12 Billboard Hot 100 singles, of which six were top 40 hits,[8] including three top 10 successes: "Born to Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride", and "Rock Me". (source Wikileaks) Wait, I mean Wikipedia. While MicroMara & FullRange were sippin their big dark drafts we were throwin down Little King Ales and creating some semblance of today's "mosh pit." Great LP ya better grab one while you can! EC tossin out a 3 lp package? Seriously, 3??? What a killer crew though. When JJ Cale & EC get down it's usually something magical and this lp IS truly magical. EC, JJ, Derek Trucks, Doyle Bramhall II is just fantastic. A side is normal for EC then JJ steps in for about 5-6, splits and the rest of the package is great and I do mean great! Pricey but WELL worth the money w/JJ on it w/EC. Should go fast I think. These guys? Want some? Yea, ya better grab this one too. They be cookin!
  18. That dude isn't right! ^^^^^^^^^
  19. Should be an interesting read on the rain gauge tomorrow. The skies opened up this afternoon and evening. Hadn't rained in at least two or three weeks. Cut loose. Grands slipped this way for burgers and 15 minutes of jumping on bubble wrap. Now if they could only learn to slide the screen on the french doors gently instead of knocking it completely off the track... Yaaassss, E V E R Y time!
  20. Klipsch is gonna have to get off that gold card and buy a bigger logo and w/the cash comes a better spot on the car. THEN we're advertising! Athough, Klipsch is the best kept secret on the planet.
  21. Happy Father's Day Paul! Hope ya got a favorite or two. All quiet here. Well kinda maybe. Lil Aerosmith & Bryan Adams this evening.
