I found your amp!  This will give you some headroom.  throwingmoney.gif    If you buy two, you can have 2200 watts into 8 ohms RMS / continuous output on both channels...

    Meet the Electro Voice CP3000S:

(The one on eBay is at $499 and $40 shipping)

Electro-Voice's Precision Series Compact amplifiers offer proven Precision Series performance and reliability in a compact, lightweight format. This is made possible by incorporating a highly efficient Class-H design, which results in considerably less heat being generated. This allows the overall size of the amplifier to be reduced substantially without sacrificing performance or reliability. The CP3000S is not only the first Precision Series amplifier to use a switch-mode power supply, but also the first switch-mode amplifier with EV's Precision Series sound. With up to 2 x 1600 watts into 2 ohms and 2 x 1100 watts into 4 ohms, it is both powerful and lightweight, at only 17.96 lbs (8.15 kg). The CP3000S is state-of-the-art for all kinds of applications. It is specifically designed to allow for long-term driving of low loads into subwoofers without stress. The CP3000S's reliability and its pleasing, rich sound make it the first choice for all mid- and hi-range speaker cabinets.

I have listened to speakers costing 20 grand and more which don't do what the Epics can do, whether as a stereo pair or as part of a home theater.  That is what is cool about the Epics and Klipsch. 👍

Didn’t Roy / @Chief bonehead design these?  If so, he knocked this one out of the park!   Thank you, Sir.  I’m a fan of your work.

    Not sure about that.  B)

They were about $2400 new, the compression driver had a neo magnet and replacements were about $750.  These were the top of the 2-ways for the three years they were produced starting in 1994.

IMO adding a musical sub turns these into a 3-way speaker system and they are as good as I've ever heard, and I've owned LS and Khorns.

I think he means the used market, where you get near Klipschorn performance for 1/5th the price.

    Simultaneous post, Schu!

Sure some of you can chime in to set me on the correct path :D

Downloaded some video/audio files from YouTube and some other sources and compared them to original CD's.  HORRIBLE :(  Lack of highs/lows, no definition, no brilliance, etc.

Where to go; what to do????

    Thanks, Emile

The easiest way is to buy them directly online from either the Apple Store, or Amazon.  You pay, instant download, and start enjoying your music immediately.

Pictures to come. The components are still in transit to me. I do have 2 sheets of plywood in the back of my truck, but they aren't much fun to look at. I'm also waiting to take delivery of a track saw I ordered last week. I hope that simplifies the cabinet construction. Once the components arrive, I'll start a build thread.

Very nice, and I believe a track saw will help you tremendously.
