  1. Those are very nice for the price. Congrats. And I`m assuming you did not have to pay for shipping. I notice both you and the seller live in Arizona.
  2. They deleted the thread not because of what was in it. The title of the thread was the problem. We only got 2 guys in this band left. We don`t need someone killing another off in a thread title. Geez. I`m glad it`s gone. Gave me the creeps.
  3. And 77% of MLB players said yes too. Know what I mean?

  5. You mean this is a trick. You mean......NO. I`m disappointed. I thought it was real magic. You just can`t count on nothing now`a days.
  6. What a nice looking rig. Bet it does sound fine. Good room too. Hey, that`s the same chair that I listen in. Different color though. Now I`m hungry for Korean.
  7. Mine came from England and it was less than that. Wow! But I see what he`s doing. This is a 40 dollar plus item that he`s selling for 30 and recouping the rest on shipping. I`ve seen these sell for 80 dollars on ebay.
  8. I`ve got that JR Monterose reissue LP and it`s one of my faves. I do prefer mono, but the stereo copies I have gotten are great too. Remember, Alan is use to listening to the original pressings. He knows his stuff. I`ve got a few of`em but.....damn, he`s almost got all of them. Lucky dog. For the rest of us, Classic Records is doing a find job of re-releasing some Blue Note goodies. Mono or not.
  9. I got one last year, and I love it. But....the salesman on ebay is going a little over board on the capabilities of this product. And it`s not new. It`s been around for a few years. First... understand, this is not for doing a deep cleaning of your records. It`s a substitute, or a second option to a Hunts brush. It`s sticky, but not enough to even pick up a record off your turntable. Not even close. And it leaves absolutely no residue. It really is a space age material. After VPI-ing a record I use it to pick up any surface dust that appears between plays. It really works, and is soft enough so that that it reaches down into the grooves. After it gets a bit dirty I just use a clean wet sponge with light soap to wipe it off, then rinse with warm water and let it air dry. And BTW, the seller`s price is excellent. I paid about 40 bucks for mine last year. They were selling for that or more on ebay. I highly recommend this product for light maintenance of your already clean LPs.
  10. That`s a great machine Tom but as we know it`s out of most people`s reach. The 16.5 cleans just as good but without the frills of a reverse mode and an automatic fluid dispenser. I mean who needs an automatic fluid dispenser anyway? The 17 has a built in fan to keep it from over heating during those long cleaning sessions but believe me, after you clean 3 or 4 records you want to stop cleaning and start playing them. In other words, I don`t believe anyone needs a fan either. The reverse mode on the 17 is nice but not necessary IMHO. For the price you just can not beat the 16.5 for it`s cleaning power and quality build. http://www.amusicdirect.com/products/detail.asp?cat=&sku=AVPI16.5
  11. Just wondering if anyone has bought it yet and has some comments?
  12. Oh! Right Dean. I missed that in the first post. Well hell.....I`m still game for a reveiw of the final product. And by the way Dean, looks like a top notch job. What should he expect to hear improvement wise?
  13. So Thebes, can we get some feedback on how those Cornwalls sound after the crossover rebuild?
  14. On the flip side of what Keith said, buying used can give you a lot of bang for your buck. And they don`t have to be fixer uppers either. My amp and pre would have cost me $3400 new. I got everything for $1400. That`s a huge savings. And they sound lovely. Cosmetically flawless. Audiogon and ebay are your friend. Just do a lot of research and choose wisely.
  15. The mark-up on stereo cartridges is twice that of speakers. Just a fact of life.
  16. Hey Smilin, Hope you had a happy TG. People like you are what this forum is all about IMHO. You and others here are responsible for making me crazy as hell about audio.....or crazy as hell in general. Thanks...........I think. Happy Turkey Weekend all.
  17. I love the new album. A matter of fact I`ve liked everything they have done since Berry left. This is the best one they`ve done since his departure. Just give it some time. It grew on me rather quickly. And come on guys, don`t kill it for everyone else until they`ve heard it.
