  1. And I think that is the real reason Klipsch is feed up with this forum and considering taking it down.
  2. Perhaps not if we behave and listen to what they are saying. I still have hope for this forum. Been coming here lurking for like 20 years. At least that is how long I think it has been. Long time anyways. This forum just need the proper leadership and direction to be what Klipsch wants it to be. If it does not benefit Klipsch why would they bother with the expense of keeping it up and running. I believe it would be a loss for all concerned if we loose this forum. Like, or at least accept, what is happening or just move on. I want Klipsch to keep it up and running and I bet there are many old timers that feel the same way along with the many visitors this site has that never post. They reason many do not post is you guys can be a rough bunch at times. Sorry but that is the way I see it. All the complaining some are doing is the very reason Klipsch is considering taking this forum down. Might be fine to loose this forum for some but not for me.
  3. My thought are those that use that thing have too much time on their hands. Takes forever and a lot of time mastering that thing. Why bother is my thoughts. I built 5 blanket chest all with hand cut dovetails and I would still be cutting dovetails if I were trying to use that saw. 🙂
  4. Opinion noted Zen. I happen to like what Roy has done here lately. Put this forum back on what Klipsch wants it to be. I happen to like and believe in Klipsch myself and all the people they have working there. Been a loyal Klipsch fan for 36 years now. I am old enough to remember stereo shops that had a large listening room where one could listen to high end speakers and amplifiers. I was floored when I first heard a K-horn with a McIntosh tube amplifier. There were some other horn speakers I liked as well but for me it was Klipsch horns. Back then one could compare the different brands of speakers and find one they liked that fit their pocketbook.
  5. George I think you understand what I am saying. Arguing with the boss too much will surely get you fired. Believe me I know. 🙂 At least the jobs I have had way back when.
  6. If they do I will just move on to the diyaudio forum. Been a member there for many years posting my builds and describing them there. I will not fault Klipsch for not wanting me doing what I am doing on the tube section if they say no. I just thought many here would like to see what I have been doing as far as audio since retiring. Good grief guys you are beating a dead horse complaining. What do ya'll think you will accomplish doing so much bit*****. It is what it is and doubtful you are going to make friends with the boss here making so much noise. If it were me I would not listen to too much more on this thread if I were Roy or Trey.
  7. I believe you are entirely wrong. The moderators just listen and do what the boss tells them. This is not their forum it is Roy's from what I am hearing. If he says take it down then it will go down. That is if what Trey says is true which I believe is. Believe what you want but just the way I am interpreting what I am hearing. You guys just will not quit. Good luck arguing with Klipsch about this forum. As far as new rules, it is pretty plain to me. Post something they do not approve of and it will be taken down. If you object you may have to go sit in a corner a while like you did in elementary school.
  8. George, below is a picture of the round over bit I am using. Not sure of the size but the one I like to use. Also a picture of the progress made this morning. I did install the rails to hold the aluminum plate and did some more wood filling of the dovetail joints. Now I must wait for the glue to set before preceding further. All that an old man really wants to do this morning anyways.
  9. Guys old ones move on and new ones appear. If there is going to be a future Klipsch forum it has to be the way the boss says. How long would you survive if you argued with the boss at work? Suck it up or quit and move on somewhere else is what Klipsch is saying. Some of you guys do not like it and I am not all for everything being done but the boss is the boss. As my Dad use to say "The boss is not always right but he is always the boss." Just my opinion which carries very little weight around here.
  10. What I am talking about is a store on this forum. Articles for sale in store where you purchase them online and they are shipped to you. Must be working well and showing a profit at diyaudio. Perhaps I am wrong but I see it as a winner for everyone but then what do I know. Just an old redneck from Alabama. But what you posted is correct.
  11. Guys what I have said about a Klipsch store is just my opinion and may not be the way Klipsch wants to proceed for the future. I admit to not being the sharpest knife in the kitchen. I just like being a part of this forum and would hate to see it go.
  12. Dave I respect what you say and like what you have done but times have changed. A Klipsch store would be a great place to upgrade old Heritage speakers. Surely there has been improvements in drivers and speakers in 30, 40 or even 50 years since the Heritage line was introduced. I would welcome a Klipsch store for people such as yourself. Surely you would favor an authorized Klipsch component designed by Klipsch audio engineers over another component maker. I would love to see a replacement for the old but very good AA network using the antiquated autotransformer that has not been used in modern designs in decades. Would be a great seller in my humble opinion. A real Klipsch upgrade for old Heritage speakers. Market is there if Klipsch wants to fill it.
  13. Trey Cannon tries to downplay his role at Klipsch but it you read his title description at Klipsch you will see Sr Systems engineer. A quick googling finds this. What is a Sr systems engineer? Under general supervision, assists in analyzing, planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting and enhancing large complex systems or networks consisting of a combination that may include servers, mainframes, mini-computers, LANS, WANs. Unless there are changes made this site is doomed. I happen to like this site and would like to see it stay up and running. Go along with the changes or keep quite or move on is what I have to say. Talk Klipsch and their excellent speakers and everyone just behave and respect each other and others opinions. Start your own thread with an opposing view if you disagree with what someone says. Do not crap on their thread. Just common sense things to keep peace. We should not need policing by busy moderators to keep civility on this forum. Police ourselves.
  14. Seems like you bunch like finding old LP's that many have not heard of. He is one I found in my collection I bought decades ago.Has anyone ever seen or heard of this one?
  15. Post your laugh of the day here. Here is mine. A pensioner drove his brand new BMW to 100 mph, looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a police car behind him. He floored it to 140 , then 150, ... then 155, ... Suddenly he thought, "I'm too old for this nonsense !" So he pulled over to the side of the road and waited for the police car to catch up with him. The officer walked up to him, looked at his watch and said, "Sir, my shift ends in ten minutes. Today is Friday and I'm taking off for the weekend with my family. If you can give me a good reason that I've never heard before, why you were speeding... I'll let you go." The Man looked very seriously at the police man, and replied :- "Years ago, my wife ran off with a policeman, I thought you were bringing her back." !!! The Cop left saying, " Have a good day, Sir "...
  16. The Marshall EL-34 tubes I just bought used on Ebay were supposedly made by Svetlana. On another subject, have you tried one of these. https://www.eurotubes.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=6 I have been using the $28 for a few years and I like it to find bias on the octal tubes. Using it and finding cathode to plate voltage and using ohms law makes it easy to find how hot you are running the tubes.
  17. About half of my dovetail cutting makes me happy. I have three saws one can use to cut dovetails. I tried using the pull cut Japanese saw to begin with. I would have to have many hours using it before I could cut decent looking dovetails with that thing. The other one is a dovetail saw that I can use somewhat better than the Japanese saw. But the one I used for many years is just a plain old backsaw. I can cut my best looking dovetails using it. Also the quickest. That Japanese saw takes a lot of sawing with those tiny teeth. Wears out an old mans arm. About half of the dovetails I cut on this case I can say I am proud of. The half when I started to use the backsaw. Still with some wood putty and sanding the others will be presentable as well. They are still hand cut dovetails that most that are not woodworkers would never see the difference. Just a woodworkers thing.
  18. I am sorry for you diy speaker guys but Klipsch is tired of hearing about Joe Blow doing some changes to one of their speakers and claiming the change he did greatly improved the sound. From what Trey is saying Roy Delgado is the only one keeping this ship afloat. Many executives at Klipsch are thinking this site is not benefiting Klipsch and are thinking of shutting it down. I cannot blame Roy and the audio engineers at Klipsch because such claims of improving their speaker is down right insulting to them. Put yourself in their shoes. They visit this site daily and have been hearing such every day for many, many years. Diy speaker builders should find somewhere else to display their talent. Such as diyaudio.com. This does not mean you should not participate on this forum but to just keep your hobby talk in the proper place and not here. Does this seem logical to you guys or am I off base? I do wish now since Klipsch is marketing Klipsch capacitors for diy'ers if they would consider opening their own store at this site much like diyaudio.com did a few years ago. There appears to me to be a demand for Klipsch authorized drivers and speakers along with the capacitors and crossovers for the old Heritage speakers on this site. That would shut down all the unapproved sellers of Klipsch's so called upgrades. I am sure the audio engineers could come up with drivers and speakers to provide their customers being there are so many good makers of drivers and speakers nowadays. They would just have to give their specs for a driver or speaker to a reputable company and see what they can deliver. Or possible expand their in house facilities for the demand of such a product. The market appears to be there. More profit for Klipsch and members and visitors here would enjoy spending their money with Klipsch instead of some layman selling such for our old Klipsch speakers. Just an old mans rambling talk early in the morning.
  19. What can I say, I like audio electronics. Seriously I think Roger's electronics will only increase if price. He passed away 4 years ago and there are only so many made.
  20. Designed by one of the best. Just happens to be listed in our Garage section today. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/212026-fs-roger-modjeski-rm5-preamplifier/#comment-2759091
  21. I forgot to mention this morning with the picture that it is just the picture of the initial glue up stage. I am not sure the size of round over bit I use for the top but off hand I am going to say more than a 1/4" round over. That and I have to do a lot of sanding to get the dovetails looking good. And some wood filler. I make my own from the dust collected in my sander and wood glue. Best color match I have found.
  22. Roger in one of his videos had much praise for the RM9's.
  23. No, I will round them off when I start the dirty job of sanding. The part that is not fun, for me anyways.
  24. If that were mine I would not sell it. Or at least it would be one of the last things I would sell. Decent price for the quality you would be getting guys.
  25. You think it could use a skirt, trim, at the bottom. I really have not thought about it. Good idea, let me give it some thought. I do have some rubber feet ready on my Mouser order. As far as square, it is a rectangle but getting close to being a square.
