I stumbled across a beautiful CD today in my local Half Price Books shop. Dave Grusin Discovered Again plus! It's the 76 LP recording, with four alternative takes (Sheffield Lab's Audiophile Reference Series). The bass work by Ron Carter on The Colorado Trail (both takes) is something special.
jhawk92,
Like you, when I first got my Klipschorns I couldn't wait to try them out.I had them running out of the corners for several days. Even so, they sounded better than anything I had heard before.

I don't know about an exemplary recording, but I picked up a couple of "disques Vogue" CDs at one of my local discount stores recently for next to nothing. The titles are "Lionel Hampton in Paris" and "Zoot Sims in Paris". Wonderful listening!
Lynn,
"They simply seem to disappear when the music starts." That says it all. Congratulations! For any of you out there teetering on the edge, take the plunge. You won't be disappointed.
As far as I'm concerned, this has been one of the best threads in months on this board. So much information! I have a pair of Moondogs with the ultimate upgrade and I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. Erik, whereabouts in Texas are you?
Here's a suggestion for any one wanting to sign up. Don't bother going to the Yahoo site unless you want to go through the irritating procedure of signing up for Yahoo! groups. Just send an email. Much simpler and it will keep your blood pressure down!
Dean,
I was just kidding about not listening to Kelly, I'm sorry if it didn't come across like that. It was probably Kelly, more than any one else, who persuaded me to take the leap and go tubed and I really appreciated the advice he gave me.
foodshouldbefree,
This site is a wonderful source of inspiration and information. Based on my experience, I would recommend that you take a very careful look at the Heritage speakers (Klipschorn, La Scala, Heresy).
MBM135,
Your description of the Planet itself was entirely accurate. I was just amazed at the build quality. Solid metal, no cheap plastic. They didn't have to build it like that but they did. To me, that tells you something about the commitment of the company to quality.
