  1. m00n I only purchased 1 of 2 sets. All inquiring parties have the fulll details of the purchase. They will not be installed until friday due to supporting Craig Barretts stock options. So glad they couldspare mine, almost feel bad about getting them. Maybe Iwill donate them to Craig. Scott
  2. Skid I am using aceiling tv mount. It is rated for 100lbs. they are also available in wall mount configurations nt. Scott
  3. yeah moon and I have been kicking around the idea of replacing the rs7 with rb75s. Well just ordered the first set in cherry and should be here on monday. The very first tig I will be doing is seeing how well they do as replacements for the RF7s. Then see how they are as surrounds. The reason why I am switching the surrounds from the RS to the RB is having a small HT the left to right seperation is somewhat lacking. Hope this gives me the effect I am looking for. East Coasters drop a pm if you are considering purchasing rs7s Scott
  4. If I had a million I would design a theater that holds 9 people 3 rows of 3 stadium style seats that were very wide with arms that slid in and out for comfort. Seats would be 18 inches apart read on. The seats would be situated as to support a 18 x 32 inch table in front of it for food. Each seat would have its on refridge under the a55 cushion, hence the 18 inches plus it would allow people to easily move about. large screen of course The back wall would be a false wall and behind it another section to host a hold/cold buffett and bar massaging seats also have multiple screens and projector that lower so 3 sporting events could be watched simultaneously on their own large screen. At my set I would have a laptop that folds into the arm rest, like on planes, and a 42 inch plasma screen below the main screen so I could surf the web if needed.
  5. The writer of that review CAS mentioned is a very credible source, not to mention very good people.
  6. John 16 inches is fine. I have seen SVS subs place between sofas and walls packed in behind entertainment centers and so on. The most important thing how does it sound. Also keep in mind not many of us have ideal rooms for HT and have to make do with what we have been dealt. Fire it up and see how it sounds.
  7. 3) DVDA and SACD were released to spur sales once again, but don't have enough superiority to the CD to have all the boomers repurchase their collection a third time... (they have succeeded on a small scale, as how many have DSOTM on all three formats?) ---------------- This I have to disagree with. There are a number of DVDa and sacds that I have that blow away anything on a cd. The only way I obtain CDs is when BMG has a 3 for one. SACDs and DVDas make up for roughly 95% of my music listening. The initial releases of both were questionable. The more recent ones are fantastic. DSOTM Record, cassette, cd, sacd, gold cd
  8. SWAT Hawaii five O underdog Get SMart Emergency, emergency-1 Opening to the old Boston Bruins games General Cimena open theme to the featured presentation.
  9. If you offer a decent product people will buy it. First I am not sure if half the stuff on the radio can be considered music. The other issue is the price. If they are loosing money then maybe people feel the value of the item is over priced. Maybe perhaps I want music with real drums, guitars and people that actually sing. I get more enjoyment out britney spears video with the tv on mute.
  10. apparently she must have a 34D http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11520&item=2887671550
  11. well if money is tight check this out. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/deals/deals/external/frames.php?id=12215
  12. Well, I have out grown my connections bewteen 2 DVD players, OTA/Dish receiver, xbox and cable. I am looking for a component video switch that will switch tos link as well. Product requirements switch up to 4 component/audio signals support HDTV remote (optional) under $400 under $200 even better thank you Scott
  13. It all depends on the quality that is put into the production. for instance Steely Dan dvda is incredible. where the fleetwood mac rumors blows. The bangles sacd is mediocre where the pink floyd dark side of the moon is unreal. diana krall sacd great, where the rem auto for people is ok some of the multichannel gives me the feeling of being in a studio and others makes me feel like I am listening to a boom box
  14. aerosmith van halen bruce rush cmon nearly 100 years of rock between these band and still able to draw crows of such impressive numbers, well van halen would if they toward. i am surprised Kenny rogers or Neil Diamond didn't make that list. hell for that matter barry Manilow
  15. Yeah bill that is a nice looking amp
  16. pioneer 49txi and 59txi can be had for much less than MSRP from an authorized dealer roughly $2800
  17. Mandi, I would say 99% of the people state how much shipping and handlings is. if the s and h is too high I forego that particular auction. When you order something from amazon.com their quoted rates include some type of handling charge. Sure some over charge but if you really want the item you may accept paying a little more. Ebay is a living for some. The stores are a great tool as is the buy it now feature. Many use paypal for convenience and provides the seller and buyer a record of payment. With a money order the time delay is sometimes up to 2 weeks. Now the ite is sitting somewhere in the way. Paypal reduces the amount of time between end of auction to item being received. It is also more convenient to the buyer since they do not have to get a money order and pay for the stamp. Paypal is a great service and the fee is 2.9% of the transaction. When you go to a store the merchant is charge up to 8% depending on the credit card they accept, the amount of usage per month, and their over all sales. Paypal allows small merchants the abiility to broaden their customer base by accepting payment via credit card. I think in your original statement you implied it is ok to win an auction and simply say, nah I found something better for less. Would you do that if I bought the same exact car as you but paid $2000 less? When someone places a bid to me they are willing to pay that amount of money. If there is another item for less somewhere else oh well you should have done a little better research. After all, you placed the bid in that amount not the seller. if the seller or buyer does not complete the auction or a mutual resolution has not been reached then a NEGATIVE feedback is warranted.
  18. Even a quarter a month means they will get an extra $3 plus taxes from my laziness. hell with the cost of living in massachusetts every penny is valued. Living in great weather central massachusetts we are subjected to lightning storms and frequent blown transformers from ice. In standby the subs amp could become a victim of a power surge. Flipping the power switch to off provides an isolation to such an occurence.
  19. NO... Any time something is left on it cost me money. When the HT is shut off everything has all the lights are out. leaving things in the standy mode is a waste of $$$$$ that can be put towards things I want and not needlessly given to the electricity providers pockets.
  20. Cas the PB2+ is truly an awesome sub. Its output of the beast is simply unbelievable. For roughly $1300 with shipping it is truly a value. Now those reading that don't over look its little brother the PB2isd. The guys over on SVS are very proud of this sub, especialy the price they can offer it at. Now if you want the ultimate the $2400 PB2 Ultra will offer you a beautiful cabinet and the ultimate in deep rich bass. When Tom and I were talking about subs he really could not say enough about the PB2isd. If it is low you want to go SVS will achieve it. klipsch makes great sub as well, as many have stated. unfortunately the middle man has to get their cut too which pushes the price higher. Shaking pictures off the wall and cracking ceilings are pretty much par for the course owning a PB2*
  21. mtb take a look at the review over on hometheaterspot.com in the SVS section. i truly think you are asking about truly different subs and would be tough to compare. The B4 doesn't compare to to many subs, The SS model has its place, The RSW 15 would probably be a great balance of sub and $ and performance. The PB1+ with a nice veneer finish could be an alternative. The PB2isd for $900 will shake the sheet of out you as well. The PB2+ for $1200 is big but will shake your foundation. For total output and the best bang for the buck the PB2+ would be your best bet, IMO.
