  1. Making some noise outside for St. Patrick’s day.
  2. It also increases the assembly time when you double up on components which would drive the manufacturing cost cost up.
  3. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/shatner-sells-kidney-stone-for-25000/ The stone was so big, Shatner said, "you'd want to wear it on your finger."
  4. The all black one is the “New La Scala” that the Chief demonstrated this past week. @gigantic pics are of his DIY project. It’s kind of amusing because there were a few people(not the Chief) that told us that the original LS design didn’t need to be improved upon and we were basically silly for going to a 2” mid driver with a larger format mid horn, and running it tri-amped with a DSP crossover.
  5. Wait, so it’s possible to improve on the original by using a 2” mid driver and tri-amping with DSP? I never would have imagined…
  6. I might have been tempted to keep them if I had known they were plywood. I kid. I always thought they sounded pretty great and looked much better than my college party special H1’s.
  7. You know what a burrito is? It’s a Mexican sandwich.
  8. *Ola yep, https://www.solar-guitars.com/
  9. It looks like the stock white leads from the woofer run out the back of the cab, and I believe he basically says that in the video. There is nothing in any of the McIntosh equipment he is using that would allow him to set a crossover point to 700Hz to roll off the excess highs from the woofer. I’m pretty sure he’s running the woofers full range out of his home theater receiver. I think it’s a bunch of nonsense. and I say this as somebody that is actively tri-amping their La Scalas.
  10. The bass in his video sounds fat and bloated. More bass =/= an improvement in sound quality. An active crossover can help but whatever this dude is doing ain’t it.
  11. The only active crossover settings in the MHT100 are for the subwoofer line output which is only adjustable from 80-140Hz. There is no powered sub output on the MHT100 so he must have the woofer hooked up to one of the main speaker outputs. In one of his other videos he says he is using the external sub input on the MHT100. This makes me think he’s just running his woofers in mono with the bass level cranked up.
  12. Oh my goodness. I hope that it passes quickly. Either naturally, or via assisted means.
  13. I’ve been busy with work lately. We are moving our office down in AVL and I’ve also had to make some trips down to our Sylva office. on the audio front I’ve been tweaking my DSP settings on the LSLO (LaScala Like Objects). Still some obvious work to do on the phase response but it’s sounding better than ever as I get the phase and frequency response leveled out.
  14. Yes, and now my H1’s as stands for my KP-250.
  15. I used to go about 60,000 miles in a set of pads on my Ranger. Once I got married and Heather was driving, it needed new pads every 10,000 miles.
  16. Hold up, you put the dead tweeter in the other speaker and the tweeter was still dead? Or, you put the good tweeter in the speaker that had the dead tweeter and it(the good tweeter) didn’t work once swapped?
  17. I should add, these are the later style with the tractrixy flare to the horn. Older models have a sharper lip at the mouth of the horn.
  18. Well, it was a pleasant enough day to put a couple hundred miles on the ol ‘burb while taking care of some issues at one of my remote offices. Back home now with a sip of bourbon and it’s about time to get the kids to bed.
  19. They sell singles here, https://www.ebay.com/itm/254525878463
  20. It’s sort of the same thing on Android. The point is that connecting to the DAC, you aren’t trying to pass analog audio via the cable, you are passing data.
  21. We’ve had covid at my house recently and I’m still feeling a little bit more tired than usual but not as bad as the first time I had it. It’s 28° and clear here this morning and we are supposed to hit 55° this afternoon.
