  1. For easier way to try is it working..... connect something to sub's line in directly then run it in it's individual system throw something like bass running cd so lesser variable that will be check the settings on the sub too, like turn the crossover in higher like 120Hz to make sure the sub's amp/woofer not dead
  2. As they ban the D2O(not H2O but H and D just isotopes...... ) they still have certain of them abundance on the air/water......... I don't know how do they work this out Well before banning or supporting the compound...... I've to see what does it favor to the world. We know burning gasoline kill the Ozone upon the sky and increase ozone near ground level, but we need it until there's alternative and competitive to gasoline. If it does much more benefits to us, we know we have to use that There's all toxic substance/carinogen all over the lab I'm in, the distance between me and them were just a pair of gloves when I use them. I know they are bad but I still need to use it
  3. His workstation is neat enough......... this one is still better........ than my bedroom
  4. Try to run Adaware 6.0 in your computer to find out all the spywares first. You may use some programs like popup killer or google one to cut the popup but they are just the indicators for spyware for me. I don't block them because by the time I'll know they have spyware in my computer. BTW it's up to you . Spywares used to have on porn site only...... newer one is really flooded, even some major sites infected without being known...

It's like their lower ended and some of them go high up to $1200/feet(or even more that I have not read). I just opened my mouth and stared for several minutes Then I never read these forums again But well..... not a bad way for increasing the GDP/GNP of the US
  6. I believe the mods are glad to read most of the post in this thread. As I mod in other forums myself.... I find certain commons when a section was shut down and huge debates in rest of the sections: People keep debating and asking for opening the section before schedule because they DO care and love the board, just feel home here The folks who didn't do anything wrong also regain and remind their self discipline by learning from the problem. Poorly someone who did wrong would never think about this point. No one really cares what you say if you respect others and polite enough. Who cares if you say "I'm so dumb a$$" (I do blame myself for this periodically....) . They only care if you say this to others. Mods do encourage informational, educational and constructive debates, not some arguments that saying each others are idiots. Forget it if you disagree them, just IMO

The left and the right don't have the same length either, they still sound the same volume to me . Just make them to be fit and neat
  9. Congrats you got your speakers and Klipsch all around(I felt the same when I just pushed my PM series satallites and center away from my HT, sitll leaving the sub atm..... it'll be gone soon) The speakers do have a break in period...... depends on how often you play with them and how much volume you use. I used around a whole week or more to bring them to complete performance for ref series(it just grows better and better).

Well mods don't have time for every single minutes of flame war especially during weekday. Setting better rules may be required for moderating these posts. Let's say...... once mods close the topic and that certain topics, no one can open the same topic or continue the war. Or the person who started and engaged get banned.

Has anyone ever heard a statement like this about Parasound? ---------------- I guess your Mcintosh dealer told you something about Parasound but not their's HALO series. I've heard some people said their HCA-1205A were little bright with Klipsch speakers but not the HALO. Still it's the amp part but not the pre/pro
  12. Get these three speakers first, they will do most of the sound even you watch some dvds. They will still rock your house (and you wil get rest of the speakers very soon after)

Goodguys do have upgrade policy..... that'd be even better deal than 30% off as some upgrade bug bites you when premiere series release

Somewhere there is a long techincal discussion of why, but I'll just pass on the important part. Also, having both woofers colocated in the same box will reduce the possibilities of phase cancellations at certain frequencies. This should theoretically make speaker placement an easier task. I say theoretically because the PB2 is a really big box that doesn't fit just anywhere. Jerry Rappaport ---------------- For the 3db increment of volume, it should be the constructive inference of both woofers(since they are placed so close to each other, and the wavelength is extremely long, as they produce the frequency the waves would probably lie on the node and anti-node in the same time). Perhaps there's more deeper technical answer for the architecture of the sub, I'm not too certain at this point. The truth is you can place 2 25-31 easily but not a PB2 in house(except you look for an extra chair ) The phase can barely occur(it still has its chance, but bare) for low freq. It will happen in higher frequency much higher chance. The theoretical calculation would be the wavelength of low freq. is 3000km-15000km and the higher freq would be down to 15km. You have to hit the same wavelength in order to produce the cancellation(sure they have cancellation in between but has to be 1/2+n). Some people said that they move a little position for the speakers and have entire different result by the movement of interbetween the different phase produced by different speakers(you have 7 speakers and it has much more chances). Don't forget about the reflections of walls are not even considered(testing is better than calculating for the walls )
  15. For many technical terms...... I recalled moon(is that you? I don't remember )brought this page up: http://www.audiovideo101.com/ It's like the dictionary for audio/video. Hope it helps
  16. I never heard anyone talks about RW8(I never listened to it either). However by it's same series..... the price..... and if the room is small enough(like smaller than 10x10) that'd be not a bad choice(sure not as good as other subs, but a great deal matters )

Thanks Troy ---------------- What size your room will be?? Actually you may look for further upgrade if you get STF2 now, but not neccessary for PB1 if the sub is enough for your room and your ears unless you move into a huge room in the future

The lower 20 or whatever model will loose the high level of slam with music but will ad more slam for movies. Kind of get it. All subs are pretty much like this you usually have to sacrifice something for one perfect thing. Can you live with a huge 16 inch diameter tube in your corner? I thought this through very hard and i still may get one. They are covered in a fabric that is of good quality. So if you have a cat beware it could be his new toy. I did the dimensions and it is bigger than it may sound. YOu could get the 25 and have them tune it to 22 and this will give you a inbetween sound. For free they will do this. But if you listen to mainly music you may want to go with the 25. Their are alot of good subs out their that just need to be found. I see so many different companys lately. ---------------- Giving you some back up: Refer to the SVS official site: 16-46PCi is in purple, 20-39PCi is in red, and the 25-31PCi is in light blue. They do very similar after 25Hz, but 25-31 does a little better on the higher end but lower end just reversed. SVS produces much more subs now than they used to. They had only several models before(based on the 16/20/25 model and put on different amps) and now they have lots of box subs. Especially for the box sub, PB1/PB2(both ISD and +) is just directly competing with the RW-10/12 or even RSW-10 and 12. I'm still looking forward for more comparison between them
  20. The higher series of Klispch have higher sensitivity on their speakers, that means you use lesser power for the same volume(or same power for higher volume). So worry nothing about you reciever can't push them, just beware your ears hurt if you turn them really high I've both 6.5" woofer(RC3II) and 8" woofer(RB-5II) speakers, it helps on some low freq but will not be too much as expected. Perhaps because I let those speakers to be small and not handling too much bass. I'll let you know what if they turn to big tomorrow if you wish(can't try it out @12am..... rest of the people in house will wake up and spank me )
  21. Really thanks to the post about flat tone that it posted before and complaints from my mom..... lol ok here's the story: I just talked to my mom by phone that my dad looks into floorstanding speakers for new decor in house. Sure she complainted like 10minutes without a gasp(is that true to every household? My friend kept saying every negative words as I talked about the speakers). In the same time I was reading the post about the flat tone again..... and think all the way back to my parents' house's reciever...... wait I missed something in my reciever, the tone! I didn't realize I didn't tune them at all until I think the reciever that my parents' house has(that one was analog but mine one didn't have the knob but switched to digital) and the flat tone post OMG I didn't tune my reciever for tones for 5 months and I thought that the sound was still great !! BTW how much boost did you guys add for the bass and treble? I tried to play around them but they always go to the more the better then I felt too much and loss some of the details in mid, then turn them low and say not enough and goes up again
  22. Whoa cool down guys...... some people like to be guided all the time and believe in common folks' comments other than their on ears...... vice versa.... let it be This is also matters of personal preferences and taste, we can't intrude others' taste(as they can't either unless you want them to). Like no one ever complains TheEar has too many subs in his house and you need some handrail to walk into his house, he can't complain you have not enough bass subs to shake in your house either . At least I like to have bass but not keeps staring my ceiling to fall down anytime or my landlord goes upstairs and kick me out from the window directly . If I have my own house I may do that

The general conscensous is that Klipsch and H/K is a match made in heaven. I don't know of anybody using the newer models you mentioned, but there are a few on here that has "last years" 7200 and swears by them. If you want to go with "last years" model, it seems that the H/K AVR-7200 can be had for like half of what it originally went for - I am hearing just north of $800. If I was in need of a reciever, I certainly would've look into it. ---------------- I second that............. "if" I didn't pick a reciever like 5months earlier I'd take a look for the AVR7200. For the same MSRP in different brand, Denon and Pioneer Elite still stick around 1000-1500. $750 is a steal Qualitywise...... I've always no doubt about it(not sure about the treble, I like Elite's treble(some people called it a little bright, but fine with me)

Servers are too expensive for small-mid sized firms and most of them are still using many years old programs to keep them running. They don't put money to upgrade in order to "pay". And the mails across countries will be huge problem, who's gonna get the money if you send from US to Germany by the server is Asia somewhere? Don't forget about there are anti-M$ all around (no matter how hard, they still try to crack thru ) Even though it's somewhat united by no national borders on internet...... it still has alot limitation in real world
  25. Get a better deal for the RB-5II, they are only $450 for a pair all around........ I saw at least 3-4 people got them around 4-450 for RB-5II(excluding myself, I got myself a pair as well ). However you will have a little hard time for matching the system(easier if you can get 3pairs of RB-5II in the same time )
