sorry, decided to remove this post, don't wanna spoil it for anyone. Tom
  5. You are going to need a TT & phonostage. I would keep my eyes peeled for a Rega P3 TT on Audiogon or Ebay. One can be had with a cartridge from 3 too 500 dollars depending on condition and cartridge on the table. A decent phono stage can be had used on Audiogon for 3 to 400 dollars, just start reading up on them and educate yourself on what may interest you. I chose these price points because I feel below this level of components it will leave you wanting more. To make it worth your while and reap the benefits of vinyl plan to spend 6 too 900 for a setup. JMHO. Tom

    Closer

"Intriguing story of passion, drama, love, and abandonment involving two couples, which only gets more complicated when the man from the first couple gets acquainted with the woman from the second coupling." What makes this film unique is the sex scenes are not done visually but verbally, if that makes any sense. Tom

    Closer

Sorry to hear, I know how it is sitting with folks and watching uncomfortable situations, and there were plenty in that flick. I like the movie, brutally honest to say the least. Tom
  9. Why can't a nice find like this come up in the Chicago area? California seems to be the home of Klipsch in abundance. Tom
  10. If I understood correctly, your saying that you are using the counter weight that is used to adjust VTF to also adjust azumith. At the base of the arm there are Frankenstein style looking knobies, those ride on a ring that gets turned to shift the weight. This is whats used to adust the azumith. Tom

Well I'm releaved that I'm not alone on this one. Why did he have to die for the cause is what puzzles me. It left to many loose ends. Tom

    Final Cut

I have mixed emotions on whether its good or not. The story line is original for sure. As I posted above, it leaving me feeling like something went over my head doesn't allow me to draw a full conclusion of the film. If anyone else can comment, I'm open for a little enlightment. Tom

    Final Cut

Robin Williams starred in this, did I miss something as far as the message it was trying to bring forth? The ending left me like something went over my head. Tom

Never thought that would happen. when I started going thru this stack it made me want to go out and buy a TT and keep them all to myself. But SWMBO nixed that idea, HAHA. I kept a list for myself and will replace the ones I want with cds soon. If I got back into TT I would spend WAY TOO much money that I don't have. Stick with cds for now. sfogg send me your address, customsteve01@aol.com Steve ---------------- You can pick up a TT on the cheap new or used and it would still cost you less than what it would take to replace those titles with cd's. I gotta stop GATHERING so many LP's, about 90% of those titles you listed I own atleast one if not doubles, thats scary. Tom
  17. Very nice review, hit it on the nose with your descriptions. I don't think you'll have a hard time finding a forum member to have you over for a listen, unless he's married.

I think most of us here are in tune enough to know this sounds too good to be true and just might have been too good to be true...then again, someone here got free KHorns so who am I to argue. Don't be too hard on Gil...me, I tip my cap to you, Gil! Thanks for all you do, too! Bill ---------------- Yes I've read Gil's threads, I have nothing against him in regards to the knowledge he brings to this forum. If you know me, I'm not one to ruffle feathers around here. This whole deal rubbed me the wrong way when I read it. All have a right to do what they want, as he did, but I don't have to agree with it. Maybe I was a little harsh calling him ignorant for what he did, although I still feel he should have handled it differently considering he jumped on them and knocked everyone else here out of the opportunity to pick these up. Yes, I know I missed my opportunity twice, that's my bad, I'll have to live with that. Tom
