  1. Thanks for the invite. I still have your number. If I can make it, I will call ahead and maybe bring a contender. Can Klipschorns handle 200 wpc?
  2. "I wouldn't tamper with power, lad. You could get yerself kild."
  3. You will have to change your moniker to "thieves" instead of "thebes." I've done that before, ****** gold and forget to look for the silver. Nice work. Great to see Forum Members get a prize.
  4. That's a lot of money. For that kind of money, you may be able to land the best driver/crossover configuration and have custom cabinets built. So what if it may not end up being sanctioned heritage Klipsch. You will have the best built sound in the best looking (re: custom) cabinets. Zebra Khorns?
  5. I got email from eBay with all kinds of increases. A great business model wins all the time. Still freakin'
  6. Estate sale my eye. Goodwill (or comparable) most likely. He's a troller/flipper most likely. Nothing wrong with that, mind you. We all gotta eat.
  7. I'm losin' it. I thought you said, "shortbread thorn." Time to turn early, I guess.
  8. I have sometimes wondered if (christian) spiritual music is the bane of major label promoters. Imagine a label-owner looking at thousands of raised hands and doing the math. I have also read/heard of some so-called well-known Christian musicians living a lifestyle contrary to basic bible teachings. I would rather agree that fame is one of the most dangerous nemeses of the soul, regardless of your religious persuasion, and if your pockets are filled, you will follow the trail.
  9. Minimalism is in. Sleek stylish low profile equipment is the future. Blame those designer shows. (My altecs sometimes look like boulders.) Big black holes (grills) in the decor can distract from furniture. Smaller speakers are capable of "sounding" better these days. The list of reasons is long and the wife factor is lessening. The old days are tubby TVs and tubby speakers. Compact, portable living is here to stay.
  10. ---------------- Just what I always wanted.... a back rub from the rough, scaly, cut up, blue finger nailed hands of a carpenter. ---------------- change that order to a back SCRATCH.
  11. ---------------- He says the "rock" his 901s! ---------------- If that is meant as another bose slam, have you ever heard the 901's? They are one of few good speakers bose ever made. Also, the 301 (earlier series) is a good dollar:sound deal but need good amplification like the 901. I don't know why I am posting this but I guess I like to give credit where credit is due. Maybe what goes around...
  12. per the ad on eBay... "I'm getting Married and need to get something smaller." ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  13. ---------------- On 12/29/2004 8:10:06 PM fini wrote: I'm getting that "warm all over" feeling again. I'd better call my nurse... ---------------- I hope that's not warm AND wet.
  14. Ah, the U.P.! "Nine months of winter, three months of bad sledding." Doing any hunting?
  15. Fatigue depends on the listener, mostly. The brain tires from monotony, whether it is just repetition, melancholic harmony or anything by Olivia Newton John.
  16. KG-4 vs Cornwall? You gotta be kidding! Okay, forgive the initiation. I had a pair of KG-4 for a while and I gotta say that you are now in the major league with your Cornwalls. Those Klipsch imposters are suited for the HT at best. I don't have Cornwalls but I have heard them. I know you are now experiencing music the way it should be. I suspect you next post about tube amps?
  17. What's with this NAD 7250PE AM/FM Stereo Receiver that commands $237.00? I have one that I bought for $25. Is this one of the later, greater receivers with CD AND phono input?
  18. I tried the tube preamp to SS amp scenario. My wife says, "ouch." She is a musician. Even my ears say the same. Yet to try SS pre to tube amp because I sold my ST-70 on ebay months ago.
  19. PAULparrot, lover of fine audio before many present-tense audiophiles knew that vinyl was more than upholstery covering. If I recall correctly, Magnavox embraced the charge on CD technology. I still have a player somewhere, I think. Coax digital output jack? Yeah.
  20. Thanks for the warning, but that has been going on for years. Ebay is quite aware of the problem and has been taking strides to assist the real eBay community with PSA's and has even requested to be forwarded suspicious emails. Again, reinforcing the integrity of their business model. I just wish those stupid SmithBarney and Citigroup junk would stop. I even get those sent to my eBay-email-only account.
  21. ---------------- What is even sadder, is that past history with Steriods is out there -Take the football player from the Oakland Raiders who has/had cancer from Steriods.........and what it did to him ........ ---------------- Lyle Alzado.
  22. Hey look! He even has scales for determining shipping costs. This guy is a P R O ! But it IS a 9freakin30! Points for presentation: ZERO
  23. ---------------- THIS IS AN AUDIO SITE PEOPLE ---------------- Funny. I don't HEAR anything!
