The difference as i understand it is that your dvd player will use the receivers DAC since it is sending out a digital stream, while your cd player will use its internal DAC as it is outputting an analog stream. So depending on whether your receiver or cd player has the better dac, that is the one that should sound better. I could be wrong though.

I don't know, I took advantage of the local Tweeter's large discount this weekend and they had the RF series displayed right bang in the middle of the sound test room so that the huge towers were the first thing you saw. Talking about it with the sales-man he was really sad to see the things go. Concurrently when I purchased my rf-3's this guy with his girlfriend just stared at the massive boxes with jaw agape, at which point he slinked away from his girlfriend, I can only imagine to get a listen for himself.

Make sure you leave enough room for eventual upgrades. you know, when you buy the rf-7's it'd be a shame if they didn't fit. On the whole though it looks very nice. If I had the time and tools I would love to do some furniture, since my roomies and I are looking at putting in a home theater I might actually get the chance too. here's hoping.

I have an empty room and was thinking of putting a home theater slash gaming room in their with the xbox game cube and ps2 and was thinking that if I could find a good projector for a reasonable price 500-800, maybe over a thousand if my one roommate chips in. This is just sticking my toe in the water for some ideas, any ideas would be great.

I dunno, I would be worried about people kicking the cones or otherwise damaging the thing. But that's just me, perhaps you have people sign waivers that if they break your "coffee table" they have to buy you a new one.

Yep it should continue. The only thing that should be changed is funding should be increased so accidents like this can be avoided.

Plextor is truly the king of CD burners, but you can't go wrong with Lite-on either, I'd stay away from yamaha for sure.

I would say your best bet is to contact parts@klipsch.com and ask them about replacements. Either that or throw in the towel and buy a complete Heritage system, then your questions will be answered quickly.

I'm thinking he sighed because if i recall the 2.1 uses dual 6.5 inch cones, which he probably doesn't consider subwoofer worthy. I think your best bet would be to stick with the 2.1 forum, as this forum really is for higherend stuff, at least you didn't post this in the 2-channel audio forum.

Do you not get DD when you are trying to play games or is it something else? I have the avpack and really had no problem setting it up. If you are getting sound, even pro-logic, through the digital cable i can't understand what the problem would be, my avpack has functioned flawlessly.

There is an RC-3 up on ebay with a buy it now at 225 which is probably pretty close to the SC-1 you're getting. That might be worth a look, its less than a year old and the seller says its mint. Just thought you might be interested.
