    war songs

I thought allot over the weekend while listing to the 7000 random songs on my i-pod about anti war songs. I lived through the anti war in Viet Nam and earned the Purple Heart and the bronze star in that war thank you. I came up with some songs like War Edwin Starr, Brothers in Arms Dire Straits, Find the cost of Freedom Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Russians Sting, Beautiful People Melanie, The Dogs of War Pink Floyd , The "Fish" Cheer/I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag Country Joe & The Fish, Bullet the blue sky U2 Voice of change Mason Proffet DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately there is the thread over the weekend about a movie soundtrack, which I only read when I logged on to post this thread. This IS about the music; please keep it about the MUSIC. If you want to post an opposing view, post the MUSIC version. I just want a larger list of songs
  5. CompuServe Nazis: My old fecal material laptop crashed, so I just went out and bought a replacement, all I required on it was decent storage, writable cd, windows xp. I bought a Toshiba at CompuServe. I went around town and looked then came back to CompuServe and told the guy I wanted it, and then the trouble started. He wanted to know if it was for me or a company, upon my reply for me he started a tirade about the warranty plan, I stopped him, and he told me he would get his supervisor and he would finish the sale. Mr. Whiteshirt came over and restarted the warranty mantra with Why dont you want the plan? Then went into quoting Consumer Report and President Bush, I stopped him to and told him I did not want to hear it. His reply was that I HAD to hear it; I said you have to be f#&@ing kidding me, when I was told that I did not have to be rude, AND I would listen to his speech or I could get my computer elsewhere! Anyone else get this lockstep treatment?

Blues, jazz, funk. rock. Great stuff. You will dig the mule also known as government mule. Hear are some guest appearances for the vol.2 Jack Casady, Les Claypool, Billy Cox, Alphonse Johnson, Phil Lesh, Tony Levin, Meshell Ndegeocello, Jason Newsted, George PorterJr., Rocco Prestia, Dave Schools, Chris Squire, Plus: Rob Barraco, David Grisman, Chuck Leavell, Danny Louis, Gary LUcas, John Medeski, johnny Neel, Art Nevelle, Pete Sears, Bernie Worrell, James Hetfield. Ok some guest on vol 1 I did it backwards. Bass: Jack Bruce, Oteil Burbridge, Bootsy Collins, John Entwistle, Flea, Roger Glover, Mike Gordon, Larry Graham, Stefan Lessard, Mike Watt, Willie Weeks, Chris Wood, Plus: Greg Allman, Rob Barraco, Randall Brambiett, Jerry Cantrell, Audley Freed, Eddie Harsh, Chuck Leavill, Little Milton, Danny Louis, Page McConnell, John Scofield, Derek Trucks, Bernie Worrell. I think i dig the vol 1 better but it's all good. I like the original mule with just a trio the best. Great great band. ---------------- LOOKS LIKE I WAS THREE MINUTES LATE wheelman, DARN SPELLCHECK!
  11. Govt Mule Deepest End! Two, count them two song packed CDs with 20 songs and over two and a half hours of music! Did I mention it also comes with a DVD? This DVD has twenty songs also and has over Three hours of songs, and the songs have very, very little overlap so there are six hours kick *** music. Here is a recommend from B&N: B Shaffer (shafferb@hotmail.com), 10/9/2003, And the Grammy for best live album goes to... The CD was a real treat to listen to, and although I haven't been able to finish the DVD (3 hours of music just on the DVD; 6 hours of music total with a few songs overlapping) I have been pleased so far. Many extend jams by a lot of talented people who were apparently having a great time. I definitely believe Allen Woody would have been happy!

Based on their influence on music, world culture, how much they grew musically, how each of them became a superstar on their own, etc. , etc.. I remember Leonard Bernstein on TV in one of his young people's lectures on music talking about how great their music is. Some kids snickered and he quickly pointed out that he was dead serious and more so, he explained and demonstrated why he felt their music was so good. I watched all those shows and to my recollection they were the only rock band mentioned. You all know who I'm talking about and I did'nt have to mention thei name. Boy, am I gonna catch hell for this! No matter though, personal taste aside, its hard argue against them being the greatest. ---------------- stan krajewski: You have mail

  18. I bought the Dave Mathews Bands Live in Central Park, which I grew to like allot especially when they introduced Warren Haynes. He started off with Cortez the Killer, by Neil Young, amazing guitar player! Someone lent me Govt Mule: The Deepest End and I watched it a few times and it was ok, but I never watched the last half, I finally listened to the Politician by Cream, and the next six songs blew me away! You bass lovers will like Thorazine Shuffle when FOUR bass players are on stage! There are many different guest players in the 2 CD one DVD package and over 6 hours music, including 13 bass players. Also Bela Fleck, Karl Denson, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band Horns. I went out and bought my own copy of the Deepest End tonight
  19. I have a problem with my personal confuser; I have a 1.8 MHZ P4 on an ASUS P4T-E motherboard. It has 1028 MB 400 HHZ RAMBUS. I am running XP home. I am loading my CD collection onto I tunes and Windows Media Player 8 or something like that. I am doing this so I can use my 15 gig and 40 gig I-Pods. I installed two new drives, a 180 gig internal and a 200 gig external and reinstalled windows on it, now when I run either of the aforementioned programs the systems slows down and stops. I uninstalled media player and I tunes crashes, uninstall I tunes and window media crashes. I took out half of my RAM and it worked OK for several hours and then it slowed down again and has not worked well since. I ran spy ware, TDS_3, and AVG for virus, all come up negative. Any Ideas?
