  1. This is a question from someone who has never heard any heritage. I now have yamaha rxv 740 sb3 sc1 ss1 diy sub shiva in 5cf box ava 250 amp, that said. I have been thinking of trying to find a pair of heresys, to try and if i like maby switching out all of the synergy. I like what i have for ht but would like something better for music and concert dvds. I don't want to get rid of what i have until i find something i like better, i would rather try heritage than ref. This was the first time i ever heard anything bad about the heresy and now not sure what to do, from what i have read the heresy was not to hard to find and didn't cost alot . Opinions from this forum are the best advice i can get so PLEASE give them THANKS.
  2. I know specs don't tell the whole picture but. Synergy SB3 52 hz to 20khz , Hershey 11 63hz to 20khz . The SB3 can't have more or deeper bass than the Hersey can it ?
  3. Not counting the chain stores ,i think down here the New Orleans area has the overall best food in the country . But you Know how opinions are.
  4. You must have rode the special bus to school. the best part of you ran down your mothers leg
  5. okay, hubby just showed me what he wrote. Didn't want to show it to me until some of you guys wrote back. Believe it or not, all of you got some of the answers to the problem. Love music, love dancing. Can do with or without porn. Will be 46 on Christmas Day 2005. Have lots of other hobbies besides the 65" TV that you can see from every room in the house. As far as the other woman coming over, I would probably join them, and not out of jealousy either. Now...you all did a good job of explaining why I don't sit and stare at the TV.
  6. I forgot to add she will watch concert dvd's if it is a band she likes. Eagles , Eric clapton , James taylor ,Standing in the shadows of motown ,she also HATES Pink floyd ?
  7. HA , watch movies that is, I don't think she has seen 5 movies in the last year and it dosent matter what kind of movie it is ? Anybody else have this problem , i think its a problem , maby not ?
  8. Scotts is the best,i like the weed & feed and cutting a little taller helps alot.
  9. I can't help with your question but i have the pioneer 563a for a little over a year now and are very happy with it , it does dvd-a and sacd. The progressive scan seems to work very good on my Toshiba 65h84 at only $175 it was the cheapest i could find at the time. Im sure some others will jump in whith some thoughts.
  10. Is think this is close to what Yamaha just came out with, YSP-1 . I had just read a review on it at Audioholics, it's on their main page, is this even close?
  11. Thanks Colterphoto1 and Dodger, this was just what i was thinking of when i posted on this a few post up. Not getting jumped for having synergy but just a little help. About 25 years ago i built a pair of speakers from a book about general speaker demensions, they had 2 12 bass and a horn mid and high freq, they sounded great. Then went to advent and others and have not been happy with the sound, not as open and clean sound sounding. I have never heard ANY heritage but they should sound like what recall being horns. I thought of hershey but i don't whant these same thoughts a year from now , not sure of the next step , how big of a step. But i do have time because i just added on over a 1000 sf not counting a 16x30 woodworking shop to the house and no $ at this time anyway. But new jobs upcomeing { self employed } just thinking ahead. Sorry for being so long it's just hard to explain correctly and keep it short.
  12. Just be safe first, vest, phone ? ,firestarter for when everything is wet than have fun.
  13. I don't post very often , but i come back to this forum every day. It's like a big family BUT they are all nuts about audio from every angle, tubes , 2 ch , home theater ,ss ,ref , heritage , diy . You can learn alot here, and i thank all for the help. The only bad thing is i am not very happy with what i have anymore, but that could be a good thing ? thanks again, i will try to post more , just don't have the knowledge of audio for a comment in many cases .

    cheap cheap

my daughter is 25 and in school. She wanted to add a little more sound to her bedroom tv 32" and told me she wanted to buy a htib from walleyworld. She wad only going to spend $300 or $400 so i asked her to let me look around first, she has a tv and dvd player already . So last night i started looking on the puter for 5 cheap speakers and reciver. For the reciver $175-$200 you can do ok, for the speakers it's another story. I did run across a company in Canada Fluance.com, $200 for 5 speakers . Five speakers for that price, they seem to be ok , can't be any worse than the little plastic speakers in any htib i looked at. Has anyone heard of these or the company. Any ideas ,would rather not buy anything off ebay. Thanks again.
  16. We grill or smoke 2 or 3 days a week. try a whole boneless pork loin cooked whole and slow , very good and cheap.
  17. Never seen that one , but i did see the one where he is wearing a giant foam orange hat !
  18. Thanks for the help, thats just what i will do. The only dvds i buy are concerts for the wife and i , and all of the kid movies for the grandkids and us. Rent the rest on one of those $24 a month , all you can watch 2 at a time deals. Saves a bunch and don't feel as bad when you bring home a bad one.
  19. I have never seen any of the star wars movies or lotr. Wanted to know where to start , should i skip some of the first movies . Never really liked star trek so i skiped star wars , i know they are not the same it just happened that way . To tell you the truth most of the time my kids { in their 20s } are the ones to go to the video store. What do you think ? Thanks sorry forgot to ad you to the title
  20. Just looking around and found this company Butler Audio they make some high power 5 channel tube amps also tube amps for cars. They look very different from the tube amps i am used to seeing pictures of. Not looking to buy just thought yall might whant to look. 150 wpc 5 channels $3000.00
  21. Hi ,my wife and i have been doing landscaping for 13 years but i can't really help because we live in south Miss. There is a big difference in how to do it when the ground NEVER freezes, here you should put about 12inches wide and almost to the top of the grade with limestone or gravel with a drain pipe with small holes, close to the bottom something like a { french drain }. You really need to talk to someone in your area because the freeze and thaw changes can do a lot of damage if not done correct costing more . DIY just find out how first. Good luck.
  22. Thanks It,s like asking a question you already know the answer to but you still want to hear it from other people. Now it's time to start working on the sales and $ end of this problem , i was suposed to be content with the last 5 speakers purchased { and was }.
  23. I was in the video store and seen this dvd and remembered reading a review on this forum so i gave it a try. DKP gave the review on 11 23 04 ,the dvd is Standing in shadows of motown. There is so much most people don't know about motown and the FUNK BROTHERS . Very good story and music and lot's of extras. Everyone should see this, give it a try you won't be sorry.
  24. Colin i am not sure what you are saying, skip the hersies and go staight to the top, korns. i thought about that if that is what you mean, i do have good corners in a 18x24 room the 24 foot wall is the wall with the main speakers and tv. The main problem is a center channel with this tv 65" with windows 6" away on each side. I would have to make some type of center channel to fit on top of the cabinet i plan to build around the tv. I had planed on korns just for 2 channel already, the wife knows about that already. The old problem ,i just know things could sound so much better.
