FLHTCU
I just bought the QIII, and Synergy (10") sub. I have a Yamaha (HTR-5960) which was connected to Bose AMIII. I'm not sure how to connect this new stuff. I've followed a few forumn threads and I understand that I connect the sub-woofer pre-out to the left LFE with an RCA cable (since there is only one output on the receiver). Do the front speakers connect to the sub or to the recieiver? Does it matter? Be gentle, I'm not very technical.
johnyholiday
Connect them to the Yamaha HT , then run the optimizer,it should set the QIII to the small speaker setting, volume, distance, delay and subwoofer crossover point

FLHTCU
Got it. Thanks for the help. The speakers sound great. The Yamaha YAPO seemed to work very well. BTW, I look at the pics and she reads the articles. []

USNRET
The Bo$e equipment has found a nice cool place in the corner of my basement and is not being used. Glad you got it working out. Now do a little (lotta) reading, buy an inexpensive RatShack SPL meter and set it up manually, it'll help. While the onboard setup is very useful $30 bucks or so and some research will pay dividends. BTW, I was out shopping for the wife who at the last minute dropped an earbud request on me. I stopped by a HTIB store (BB) and the informed clerk almost gagged when I turn down the B0$e and asked if they stocked Klipsch; he'd never heard for that Chinese brand but if I didn't like Bo$e then I might as well spend the $3.99 on the generic ones. I told him that when I was his age I had two sets of 901's but then I heard real speakers and gave them away. Merry Christmas to all. carbon summit
Everytime I go to BB I make a point to go talk to one of the well trained and experenced sales person (who all happen to be around the same age as my Forte IIs) and get a good laugh at their advice on products and how to set them up. The sad thing is I'm sure a lot of people walk out of there after making purchases based on the advice they are given by that crack team of audio experts.
