nezff
i think the avrs that stick out are the onkyo 876 and marantz 5003. im thinking of just getting the 876 for either option i choose. it can act as a pre/pro and push my surrounds. Bill H.
If your comfortable with the seller of the Used 805..........jump on it. Then later on if you need/want to you most likely would be able to sell it for close to what you paid and move up to something else............ JMHO. Good Luck. nezff
of course, you are never completely comfortable with buying something you have never seen from someone you dont know. I am buying it from a Klipsch forum member, clermontcop
Moderators Youthman Posted February 17, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 17, 2009 Bill has a good point. If the 805 has all the features you need, $400 is a great price. I got my Yamaha 1800 for that price and I love it. Technology changes way too quick. It's hard to justify spending a ton of money on a receiver when it will depreciate so quickly. nezff
do any of you guys agree that the Onkyo 876 is worth the price? Im just wondering what the 876 offers that the 806 or 805 doesnt. I know the 876 has 4 HDMI inputs, the 806 has FIVE! Im just trying to figure out if the extra $300 is worth it for the 876. Do any of you guys have a 876 or 806? thanks. Mike Price
I think you will be thrilled with it , I just picked up a 905 from accessoriesforless a couple weeks ago ($899 Free Shipping couldn't resist) , and I couldn't be happier with the thing , I wasn't prepared for the size of it though , so I wound up needing to build a new rack lol
nezff
i threw that option around also, i like the 905, but the 876 had more features.

nezff
one more thing guys. My new 876 has the ability to bridge the front left and right speakers. In the manual it says at least a 8ohm speaker is required for bridging. What it does, is give more power to the left and right speakers. Instead of 140, it gives around 200 watts into those two channels. My question is, Are my RF63s ok to bridge? I was under the impression this would drop the ohms down? I could be wrong.
