Heresy I's for sale

That's pretty high. Figure it this way. Really nice minty pair for say, $400. Add in cost of shipping or fuel to go get them, say $50 for fuel; add in the cost of new caps, say $75 to have them done; you now have a really nice pair and have $525 in them. So $600 is a little on the "way high" side.

Right now, the best Heresy "buy" is H-II's in raw birch for $300 if you can find them. Reason I would suggest that? Can be veneered for about $100, and "upgraded" to H-III components for about $575. Sell the H-II components for say, $250 and you would have a pair of "mint" H-III's for ~$725. Not a bad way to go.

Here's what you do...(it is what I have done for two sets of Heresys)

  • Buy Heresys
  • Unscrew backs
  • disconnect tweeter, squawker and woofer from the crossover
  • unscrew 2 screws that hold the crossover to the inside of the cabinet
  • safely place into box along with other crossover...
  • Send to Bob and Michael Crites whom you have already talked to...
  • Shortly they return your box with your crossovers updated...
  • reverse above...
  • enjoy Heresys for MANY years to come...

...decide if you are going to buy Bob Crites CT-125 tweeters as an upgrade...
