big_shooter
I just picked up a KEF PSW 2150 from a local second hand store today. I'm wanting to hook it up to my computer stereo system which involves an older Pioneer SK-1000TW receiver. I'm unsure as to how to hook up correctly. The sub has line in left and line in right, High Pass Out L and R. Pioneer has Tape Monitor and Tape Rec. Here are some pics of the back of both units. Thanks
Kain
I think you can connect it with either the line in left or the line in right. Either one should produce the same results.
tommyboy
Use a Y splitter, and plug it into the R & L INPUT........
roaddog359
Use a Y splitter, and plug it into the R & L INPUT........ What will the y splitter do? Doesn't that just split the same signal? I am wondering if I should use a y splitter on my sub?
CECAA850
What will the y splitter do? Doesn't that just split the same signal? I am wondering if I should use a y splitter on my sub? Yes, it just splits the same signal. The inputs are wired in parallel inside the amp so the amp sums the signal when a splitter is used. One advantage of using a splitter is that the sub amp may wake up easier when it's in the auto on mode. It's not critical that you use a splitter however. It won't make your sub play any louder or better.
Islander
A wye splitter to both inputs should only be used if your sub is low-powered, because in most case it will increase the sub's output by 6dB, so you'll have to dial it down to get to its previous level.
